Discharge member with filter
A discharge member with a filter enables a filtrate to be dripped into a dripping container while filtering a suspension, and enables an excessive portion to be suctioned when the dripped amount is excessive, thereby to allow a fixed amount of a filtrate to be injected into the dripping container. The discharge member may enable suctioning operation at the time of suctioning an excessive portion to be conducted without deteriorating its dripping performance and filtering performance. The filter provided in the discharge member is a composite filter in which a pre-filter including a continuous porous foam that is softened at least in a wet state is arranged on a filtration surface side of a membrane filter.
Laterally-fed membrane chromatography device
A method of forming a frame around a membrane stack for a laterally-fed membrane chromatography device is provided. The method includes placing a membrane stack having one or more membrane layers on a bottom surface of body of a master mold, the body having opposed side walls and opposed end walls, the opposed side walls spaced apart by a distance greater than a length of the membrane stack, the opposed end walls spaced apart by a distance greater than a width of the membrane stack; placing a cap on the body of the master mold to enclose the membrane stack in the master mold, the cap having at least one opening for injecting a material into a space defined by the end walls of the master mold, the side walls of the master mold, end walls of the membrane stack side walls of the membrane stack, the bottom surface of the body and an inner surface of the cap; injecting the material into the space around the membrane stack; and curing the material to form a frame around the membrane stack.
FIBER-KNOTTED POROUS MEMBRANE BAG FOR THE REMOVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS FROM WATER
A device for easy and rapid removal of pollutants from drinking water and other liquids. A method for removing a pollutant from a drink by immersing the device into the drink. A method for constructing the device using polypropylene (PP) membrane sheet and an adsorbent.
Hybrid irrigation tubing
Features of relatively low pressure microporous (and preferably plant-responsive) irrigation tubes are combined with features of relatively high pressure drip emitter tubes to produce a hybrid irrigation tube. Methods for using and manufacturing the hybrid irrigation tube are also disclosed.
CHAMBER FOR TRANSPLANTATION AND DEVICE FOR TRANSPLANTATION
According to the present invention, there are provided a chamber for transplantation, as a planar chamber for transplantation which has a structure in which membranes for immunoisolation face each other, and which is capable of stably enclosing a biological constituent, including a membrane for immunoisolation at a boundary between an inside and an outside of the chamber for transplantation, in which the membranes for immunoisolation which face each other have joint portions that are joined to each other, an interior space includes a point at a distance of 10 mm or longer from any position of the joint portion, and the membrane for immunoisolation has flexibility that allows a distance of 1 mm to 13 mm as the following distance: in a case where a portion of 10 mm from a side surface of one short side of a 10 mm30 mm rectangular test piece of the membrane for immunoisolation is vertically sandwiched between flat plates, and the flat plates are placed horizontally, a distance between a horizontal plane including a center plane in a thickness direction of the sandwiched portion of the membrane for immunoisolation, and a part, which is farthest from the horizontal plane, of a residual 20 mm-portion projecting from the flat plate; and a device for transplantation including the chamber for transplantation enclosing a biological constituent therein.
CHAMBER FOR TRANSPLANTATION, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CHAMBER FOR TRANSPLANTATION, DEVICE FOR TRANSPLANTATION, AND METHOD FOR FUSION WELDING POROUS MEMBRANES
According to the present invention, there are provided a chamber for transplantation which has a high durability, and in which an enclosed biological constituent can be maintained for a long period of time because an interior space thereof is efficiently secured; and a method for manufacturing the chamber for transplantation. The chamber for transplantation includes one or more membranes for immunoisolation at a boundary between an inside and an outside of the chamber for transplantation, in which all of the membranes for immunoisolation include a porous membrane containing a polymer, and a joint portion at which the porous membranes are directly fusion welded to each other is provided. The method for manufacturing a chamber for transplantation includes preparing one or more porous membranes containing a polymer selected from polysulfone and polyethersulfone, bringing one part of the porous membrane into direct contact with another part of the porous membrane, and performing a heat fusion welding of the two parts that are in direct contact with each other at a temperature which is a glass transition temperature of the polymer or higher and lower than a melting point of the polymer.
DEEP SLUDGE DEWATERING METHOD USING ELECTROOSMOSIS WITH FILTER BAGS
A deep sludge dewatering method using electroosmosis with filter bags, including (1) placing a filter bag on a slope on which a cathode electrode is arranged; (2) injecting sludge into the filter bag, and after the filter bag is filled with the sludge, closing an inlet of the filter bag; and (3) laying an anode electrode on the filter bag filled with the sludge, and connecting the cathode electrode and the anode electrode to a DC power supply via an electric wire, and carrying out energization for electroosmosis so that water flows down the slope. The present invention can be used for recycling of the sludge produced in underground and tunnel excavation projects, and has the advantages of large processing capacity, simple process, good treatment effect and available resource recycling.
