METHOD FOR FILTERING PROTEIN-CONTAINING LIQUID
A method for filtering a protein-containing liquid containing protein at a concentration of 20 mg/mL or more and 100 mg/mL or less, the method including a prefiltration step of filtering the protein-containing liquid by a prefilter having a pore size of 0.08 m to 0.25 m and including a hydrophobic resin, and a virus removal step of filtering the protein-containing liquid by a virus removal membrane including a synthetic polymer, after the prefiltration step, wherein the protein-containing liquid before conducting the prefiltration step includes 0.25 g or more of a trimer or higher multimer of the proteins having an average diameter of less than 100 nm, per 1 m.sup.2 of the virus removal membrane.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO EFFICIENTLY CLEAN A BLOOD FILTER
A renal therapy apparatus includes a blood filter, a blood pump, a treatment fluid pump, and a control unit configured to control at least one of the blood pump or the treatment fluid pump during a filter cleaning sequence. The blood filter includes a plurality of hollow fiber membranes. During the filter cleaning sequence, a fluid mixture is formed by mixing air with a blood-compatible and physiologically safe fluid. Also during the filter cleaning sequence, the fluid mixture is transferred across insides and/or outsides of the plurality of hollow fiber membranes at least one time. The use of the fluid mixture enables the filter cleaning sequence to be performed during the blood treatment.
Improving the chemical stability of filtration membranes
Polyethers (A), whose main chain essentially consists of repeating units of the formulae (1) and (2) in alternating order, are useful as an additive to a porous polymer membrane, or as the main polymer constituent of a porous polymer membrane, for stabilizing said membrane against detrimental effects of oxidizing agents and/or for improving the stability of a filtration module comprising said membrane against detrimental effects of oxidizing agents. ##STR00001##
POROUS TEXTILE FABRIC, FILTER ELEMENT, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a porous sheet product, to a filter element comprising the porous sheet product, to a method for producing the porous sheet product, to a method for producing the filter element, and to the use of the sheet product and of the filter element.
FORMED SHEET MEMBRANE ELEMENT AND FILTRATION SYSTEM
A piece of substrate material is formed under heat and pressure against a cavity into a shaped substrate sheet having one or more depressions. Two substrate sheets are bonded together to form a substrate wherein the one or more depressions form one or more interior channels. The substrate, if not formed with pre-coated substrate material, is coated with a dope and quenched to form a filtering membrane. A plurality of membranes may be placed side by side to form a bundle with permeating ends of the membrane, which are open to the one or more interior channels, separated by gaps or spacers. The bundle is connected to a header to produce a module. The module can be assembled into a cassette.
Thermally sterilizable fluid filter and use of the thermally sterilizable fluid filter
A thermally sterilizable fluid filter (10) for concentrating substances contained in a fluid by way of micro-, nano- or ultrafiltration of the fluid, particularly for concentrating a pharmaceutical precursor and/or intermediate, in particular a vaccine, in a fluid. The fluid filter has a filter housing with a fluid inlet, a retentate outlet and a permeate outlet. A filter cartridge is arranged in the filter housing (12) and has a filter medium of a ceramic material and/or a ceramic composite material. The filter cartridge is arranged held with axial play on the filter housing.
Hollow Fibre Membrane With Improved Separating Efficiency, And Production Of A Hollow Fibre Membrane With Improved Separating Efficiency
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane bundle from a plurality of polysulfone and PVP-based hollow fiber membranes which encompasses the providing of a spinning solution comprising a polysulfone-based material, in particular polysulfone, a vinylpyrrolidone-based polymer, in particular polyvinylpyrrolidone, an aprotic solvent, in particular dimethylacetamide, providing a coagulant liquid comprising water and an aprotic solvent, in particular dimethylacetamide, co-extruding the spinning solution and the coagulant liquid through a concentric annular spinneret into a hollow strand, whereby the cavity of the strand is filled with coagulant liquid, conducting the strand through a precipitation gap, introducing the strand into a precipitating bath comprised substantially of water so as to obtain a hollow fiber membrane, conducting the hollow fiber membranes through at least one rinsing bath and drying the hollow fiber membrane obtained, arranging the resulting hollow fiber membranes into a hollow fiber membrane bundle, and treating the hollow fiber membrane bundle with water vapor.
AIR FILTER MEDIUM, PLEATED FILTER MEDIUM, AIR FILTER UNIT, MASK FILTER MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR REGENERATING AIR FILTER MEDIUM
An air filter medium includes a fluororesin porous membrane and a supporting member stacked on top of each other. The air filter medium has a permeability ratio (permeability after disinfection treatment/permeability before disinfection treatment) of 5.0 or less, the permeability ratio being a ratio of permeabilities of the air filter media before and after the disinfection treatment of the fluororesin porous membrane as determined using NaCl particles having a particle size of 0.1 ?m, and a pressure loss ratio (pressure loss after disinfection treatment/pressure loss before disinfection treatment) of 0.83 or more and 1.15 or less, the pressure loss ratio being a ratio of pressure losses of the air filter media before and after the disinfection treatment of the fluororesin porous membrane.
Filtration device
A filtration device (1) has a housing (4) and a filter module (2) with hollow fibers (32) surrounded by an outer shell (5). The hollow fiber bundle (6) is sealed to the outer shell (5) at each end by an adhesive (11) transverse to the longitudinal direction (10). Each end of the hollow fibers (32) is unclosed. An unfiltered product chamber (20) is between the outer shell (5) and a wall (19) of the filter housing (4) and a filtered product chamber (13) is inside the filter module (2).
