Apparatus for applying a compression bandage
An apparatus for applying a compressive bandage on a residual limb enables a user to apply a compression bandage to his or her residual limb without assistance from a physical therapist or an assistant. As used herein, the compressive bandage serves as a transition layer between a residual limb and a prosthetic device. The apparatus enables a user to apply a compression bandage by simply moving his or her residual limb through the device.
Medicated patch applicator and associated use thereof
A medicated patch applicator includes a handle having a centrally registered longitudinal axis, a frame statically connected to the handle and configured to maintain a fixed spatial relationship therewith, and a generally L-shaped implement coupled to the frame and disposed subjacent to the handle. Such an implement is located adjacent to a juncture of the frame and the handle. The implement arcuately protrudes forwardly from posterior of the handle, traverses the centrally registered longitudinal axis, and terminates anterior of the handle. The implement is capable of removing an existing back liner of an existing medicated patch during an application process of placing the existing medicated patch onto a skin of a user.
MICROCLOSURES AND RELATED METHODS FOR SKIN TREATMENT
The present invention relates to microclosures and methods for treating microwounds in the skin (e.g., after incising or excising tissue portions from a subject). Exemplary microclosures include a material having at least one dimension of from about 10 um to about 1 mm after application to a microwound. The microclosure maintains a first compressive force when applied to the microwound.
Adhesive support devices
Described herein are adhesive support devices, which may include adhesive medical devices. In particular, three-dimensional adhesive medical devices from a single layer of material, typically by stamping or pressing (including cold pressing) a sheet of the material to form rigid and complex 3D shapes capable of use for a variety of medical and non-medical purposes. These adhesive support devices typically also include an adhesive material allowing the device to be attached to a subject's skin and/or mounted on a surface (e.g., wall, etc.). In particular, described herein are methods of manufacturing, assembling, and using adhesive support devices.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR APPLYING COMPRESSION SOCKS TO FEET
Devices and methods for assisting a user to don and remove a compression sock from the user's leg. The device includes a base, at least two side members secured to the base on opposite sides thereof, and multiple arms extending from the base in a direction along the longitudinal axis and between the side members. Each of the arms has a midpoint that curves inward toward the longitudinal axis of the device, and terminates at a distal end. The arms in combination form a composite shape that has a midportion that curves inward toward a longitudinal axis of the device to define a neck, defines an interior that is surrounded by the midportions of the arms and within which the longitudinal axis of the device is disposed, and defines an opening surrounded by the distal ends of the arms.
Wound or skin treatment devices and methods
Devices, kits and methods described herein may be for treatment to skin, including but not limited to wound healing, the treatment, amelioration, and/or prevention of scars or keloids. A book-like packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device may be used to apply a dressing to a subject. The packaging, applicator and/or tensioning device may apply and/or maintain a strain in an elastic dressing.
SKIN TREATMENT DEVICES
Devices, kits and methods described herein may be for wound healing, including the treatment, amelioration, or prevention of scars and/or keloids by applying and/or maintaining a pre-determined strain in an elastic skin treatment device that is then affixed to the skin surface using skin adhesives to transfer a generally planar force from the bandage to the skin surface. Applicators are used to apply and/or maintain the strains, and some of the applicators are further configured to provide at least some mechanical advantage to the user when exerting loads onto the skin treatment device.
Medical patch applicator device
A medical patch applicator device for easily and effectively applying medical patches on difficult to reach areas of a person's body. The medical patch applicator device includes an elongated semi-rigid patch support member for supporting a medical patch to be applied anywhere upon a user's body; and patch engagement members attached to the support member and to which the medical patch clings so that the user can effectively apply the medical patch without the medical patch bunching and crumpling up.
KIT FOR PROTECTING A SKIN SURFACE OF A PATIENT, INCORPORATING AT LEAST ONE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a kit for protecting a skin surface of a patient comprising at least one cover sheet, which is thin and flexible, and is intended to be applied on this skin surface and at least one packaging containing an adhesive substance and having an outlet port for applying a bead of this adhesive substance which locally connects the skin of the patient and the cover sheet; which at least one cover sheet is associated with at least one first identification system carrying information corresponding to at least one first unique identifier, which system can take the form of an electronic chip, a radio frequency tag (RFID support), a barcode or a QR code; and which kit further comprises a first reading device specific to this first identification system and which makes it possible to have access to the information of which it is a carrier.
Adhesive patch with antimicrobial composition
This disclosure describes example adhesive medical patches that may be used in combination with one or more antimicrobial agents to create and/or maintain an area of human skin that is free from contaminants. According to some embodiments, the disclosure describes that the adhesive patches may contain an adhesive material affixed to the perimeter of an impermeable backing According to some embodiments, the adhesive patch may also have a permeable layer containing an antimicrobial agent located interior to the adhesive material on the impermeable backing.
