A polymeric hollow fiber membrane is provided having a crosslinked selective layer formed by sequentially performing coating of a polymer precursor on a crosslinked polymeric hollow fiber membrane support and thermal condensation and thermal crosslinking thereof, a carbon molecular sieve hollow fiber membrane, methods for producing the same, and methods of separating gases using the same. The polymeric hollow fiber membrane and the carbon molecular sieve hollow fiber membrane each have a thin crosslinked selective layer and excellent plasticization resistance and separation performance. Accordingly, the polymeric hollow fiber membrane and the carbon molecular sieve hollow fiber membrane, each of which has a thin crosslinked selective layer, can be effectively used in the separation of a mixed gas.

The first ionic liquid is constituted by an anion having an amine structure and an imidazolium cation, an aliphatic quaternary phosphonium cation, or an ammonium cation that have alkyl chains, alkylene oxide chains, or alkyl ether chains with each 2 to 20 carbon atoms. The anion of the first ionic liquid is axially coordinated to a central metal ion of the metal salen complex or the derivative thereof.

A composite ion conducting tube is made by wrapping a support material or ion conducting sheet to from a tube having overlaps of layers that are bonded. The ion conducting sheet or tape used to make the tube may be very thin and the tube may be formed in situ by wrapping the support material and then coating with ion conducting polymer. The ion conducting tubes may be used in a pervaporation module or desalination system. The ion conducting tubes may be spirally wrapped or longitudinally wrapped and may be very thin having a tube wall thickness of no more than 25 microns.

The method further includes cross-linking the plurality of GO nanosheets by 1,3,5-benzenetricarbonyl trichloride on a polydopamine coated polysulfone support.

Disclosed is a method of preparing a filtration membrane. The method includes providing a copolymer solution by dissolving a statistical copolymer in a mixture of a co-solvent and a first organic solvent, coating the copolymer solution onto a porous support layer to form a polymeric layer thereon, coagulating the polymeric layer on top of the support layer to form a thin film composite membrane, and immersing the thin film composite membrane into a water bath to obtain a filtration membrane. Also disclosed are a filtration membrane prepared by the method, and a process of filtering a liquid using the filtration membrane thus prepared.

A thin film composite membrane includes an active layer on a support membrane, wherein the active layer includes at least two chemically distinct first and second crosslinked polyamide film sub-layers. The first film sub-layer includes a polyamide unit; and the second film sub-layer includes a copolyamide with two chemically distinct polyamide units. The first film sub-layer is closer to the support than is the second film sub-layer.

A pore-filled ion exchange polyelectrolyte composite membrane from which the surface ion exchange polyelectrolyte has been removed and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The ion exchange polyelectrolyte composite membrane exhibits low film resistance and low in-plane-direction swelling degree, and has a smaller film-thickness than a commercial film, and thus, can be used for various purposes. In addition, since the pore-filled ion exchange polyelectrolyte composite membrane is continuously manufactured through a roll-to-roll process, the manufacturing process is simple, and manufacturing costs can be greatly reduced.

The first layer includes first convex and concave portions, the third layer includes second convex and concave portions each having a larger area than each first concave portion, the second convex portions are formed to surround the second concave portions and connected to one another, the second layer has through holes connecting the second concave portions and first set of the first concave portions, and the first concave portions include second set in regions opposing the second convex portions that is connected to each other.
