Hydrogen purification using molecular dynamics
A membrane is described for purifying or separating hydrogen from a multi-component gas stream such as syngas. This membrane uses a molecular pre-treatment, a transition metal, fluorine containing polymer, carbon fibers and carbon matrix sintered on a supportive screen. The membrane may be a bilayer membrane comprised of a layer containing high surface area carbon and another layer containing lower surface area carbon.
Cell separation apparatus for bioreactor
The present disclosure provides a cell separation apparatus for a bioreactor. The cell separation apparatus may be disposed outside the bioreactor and in fluid connection with the bioreactor, the cell separation apparatus may be in a shape of a box body, the cell separation apparatus may include a liquid buffer device including a first liquid cavity disposed in the box body; a filter device including a filter channel and a filter membrane disposed in the box body, the filter membrane may be disposed above the filter channel; and a first liquid channel may be configured in the box body to facilitate a fluid communication between the first liquid cavity and the filter channel. A power system for filtering and microfluidic channels are integrated in the cell separation apparatus that is of a box shape, thereby reducing the volume and production cost thereof.

DURABLE GRAPHENE OXIDE MEMBRANES COMPRISING FUNCTIONALIZED SUPPORT COMPONENTS
Filtration apparatus including Graphene Oxide (GO) membranes are described herein. The GO membranes exhibit durability under harsh operation conditions including elevated temperatures, high pressure, and/or non-neutral pH. The filtration apparatus can include a GO membrane and a functionalized support including surface functional groups grafted to the functionalized support via a free radical co-polymerization approach. The filtration apparatus can exhibit improved performance (e.g., high rejection) in applications such as pulp and paper processing, which facilitates achieving permeate quality targets. The filtration apparatus described herein can also offer a more stable replacement for reverse osmosis membranes which are known to degrade under strongly alkaline conditions and high temperatures.
Durable asymmetric composite membranes and modified substrates used in their preparation
Durable asymmetric composite membranes consisting essentially of a film of cross-linked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) adhered to a sheet of hydrophilicitized microporous poly(ethylene) are disclosed. The membranes have application in the recovery of water from feed streams where the ability to clean in situ is desirable, for example in dairy processing. Methods of preparing cross-linked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) suitable for use as the rejection layer and hydrophilicitized sheets of microporous poly(ethylene) suitable for use as the support layer of such membranes are also disclosed.
Multi-enzymatic biosensors and stabilization of multi-enzymatic biosensors at room temperature
Disclosed are multi-enzyme biosensors that are stable at ambient temperature, and methods of making thereof.
SPIRAL-WOUND FILTER MODULE EXHIBITING ALMOST NO HEAVY METAL LEACHING AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to a spiral-wound filter module exhibiting almost no heavy metal leaching and a manufacturing method thereof, and specifically, to a spiral-wound filter module, which can be used as a filter for producing safe drinking water by substantially reducing the amount of a heavy metal leached when immersed in water, and a manufacturing method thereof.
SUBSTRATE FOR COMPOSITE MEMBRANE
A substrate for a composite membrane includes a microporous polyolefin membrane for carrying a hydrophilic resin compound within the pores of the microporous membrane wherein: the average pore diameter is 1 nm to 50 nm; the porosity is 50% to 78%; the membrane thickness is 1 μm to 12 μm; and, when a mixed solution of ethanol and water (volume ratio ½) is dripped onto a surface of the microporous polyolefin membrane which has not undergone hydrophilization treatment, the contact angle θ1 between the droplet and the surface is 0 to 90 degrees 1 second after the dripping, and the contact angle θ2 between the droplet and the surface is 0 to 70 degrees 10 minutes after the dripping, and the rate of change of the contact angle ((θ1−θ2)/θ1×100) is 10 to 50%.
