Transfer line
A transfer line between the outlet of a steam cracker and the inlet for the quench system has metallic or ceramic inserts having a pore size from about 0.001 to about 0.5 microns inside the line forming a gas tight barrier with the inner surface of the line and having a vent for the resulting gas tight pocket are used to separate H.sub.2, CH.sub.4, CO and CO.sub.2 from cracked gases reducing the load on the down-stream separation train of the steam cracker.
Stable facilitated transport membranes for olefin/paraffin separations
A stable high performance facilitated transport membrane comprising an asymmetric integrally-skinned polymeric membrane wherein the pores on the relatively porous, thin, dense skin layer of the membrane comprises a hydrophilic polymer such as chitosan or sodium alginate, a metal salt such as silver nitrate, or a mixture of a metal salt such as silver nitrate and hydrogen peroxide and the asymmetric integrally-skinned polymeric membrane comprises a relatively porous, thin, dense skin layer as characterized by a CO.sub.2 permeance of at least 200 GPU and a CO.sub.2 over CH.sub.4 selectivity between 1.1 and 10 at 50? C. under 50-1000 psig, 10% CO.sub.2/90% CH.sub.4 mixed gas feed pressure. The present invention further includes a method of making these membranes and their use for olefin/paraffin separations, particularly for propylene/propane and ethylene/ethane separations.
MEMBRANE-BASED PROCESSES FOR SELECTIVELY FRACTIONATING ESSENTIAL OILS
The present disclosure in general relates to a process for (1) reducing impurities, i.e. undesirable natural components such as waxes and undesirable synthetic materials such as agrochemicals and other environmental pollutants, or (2) fractionation of natural components present in an essential oil using at least one selective membrane.
FILTRATION MEMBRANES
Modification of polymeric membranes via SIS to promote membrane resilience, prolong membrane lifetime, and mitigate fouling. Membranes include an inorganic material in the surface and a polymeric core. The polymer may be removed leaving an inorganic material patterned from an initial polymeric membrane.
FILTRATION MEMBRANES AND RELATED COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Described herein are filtration membranes and related, compositions, methods and systems and in particular filtration membranes with embedded polymeric micro/nanoparticles and related compositions, methods, and systems.

The present disclosure in general relates to a process for (1) reducing impurities, i.e. undesirable natural components such as waxes and undesirable synthetic materials such as agrochemicals and other environmental pollutants, or (2) fractionation of natural components present in an essential oil using at least one selective membrane.
FORWARD OSMOSIS DRAW MATERIAL
A hydrogel composite draw material for forward osmosis comprising: a porous elastic polymeric foam element including a three-dimensional continuous network of pores interpenetrated with a polymer hydrogel. In use, the hydrogel composite draw material draws a water flux of at least 3.5 L/m.sup.2h.

The polymer composition contains a) at least one polymer of PA, PVA, Cellulose CA, CTA, CA-triacetate blend, cellulose ester, cellulose nitrate, regenerated cellulose, aromatic, aromatic/aliphatic or aliphatic polyamide, aromatic, aromatic/aliphatic or aliphatic polyimide, PBI, PBIL, PAN, PAN-PVC copolymer, PAN-methallyl sulfonate copolymer, PEI, PEEK, sulfonated SPEEK, PPO, poly-carbonate, polyester, PTFE, PVDF, PP, a polyelectrolyte complex, PMMA, PDMS, aromatic, aromatic/aliphatic or aliphatic polyimide urethane, aromatic, aromatic/aliphatic or aliphatic polyamidimide, crosslinked polyimide or poly-arylene ether, PSU, PPSU and PESU, and b) at least one dope polymer DP1, which is a polyalkylene oxide with a molecular mass Mw of more than 100,000 g/mol and/or a K-value of 60 or 20 more.
ZEOLITIC IMIDAZOLATE FRAMEWORK MATERIALS, THEIR SYNTHESIS AND USE
A novel zeolitic imidazolate framework material comprises a partially saturated benzimidazole or a partially saturated substituted benzimidazole as a linking ligand, optionally together with unsaturated benzimidazole or an unsaturated substituted benzimidazole as a further linking ligand.
Doped membranes
Synthetic membranes for the removal, isolation, or purification of substances from a liquid. The membranes include at least one hydrophobic polymer and at least one hydrophilic polymer. 5-40 wt.-% of particles having an average particles size of between 0.1 and 15 ?m are entrapped. The membrane has a wall thickness of below 150 ?m. Methods for preparing the membranes in various geometries, and use of the membranes for the adsorption, isolation, and/or purification of substances from a liquid are explored.
