PARTICLE FILTRATION DEVICE AND METHOD OF PARTICLE FILTRATION
A particle filtration device according to an embodiment of the present invention as a particle filtration device of a lab-on-disk of a rotation type includes: a filtration film that separates particles by filtering a sample; a main chamber connected to the inlet surface of the filtration film and supplying the sample to the inlet surface of the filtration film; an outlet chamber that is connected to the outlet surface of the filtration film and accommodates the filtration fluid from which particles are separated while passing through the filtration film; and a waste fluid chamber connected to the outlet chamber and storing the filtration fluid, wherein the particle filtration device includes a first flow path that connects between the outlet chamber and the waste fluid chamber, and a second flow path that connects between the outlet chamber and the waste fluid chamber but is positioned farther from the center of the lab-on-disk than the first flow path.

The present invention relates to a purification/filtration system using reverse electro-osmotic flow through a composite or hybrid membrane element. The invention also relates to a process for purifying an electrolyte solution using such system. The invention further relates to a water purification system, a water desalination system and an implantable artificial kidney, comprising a reverse electro-osmotic filtration system according to the invention.

Cell retention device
A cell retention device includes a structured support with a plurality of circumferentially distributed ribs to retain the active filtering surface of a flexible, porous membrane filter medium. The filter medium surrounds the support in contact with the peaks of the ribs, thereby forming axial voids between the rib peaks. This arrangement imparts sufficient structural support over small regions of the filter medium to facilitate its use in a circular (or other rounded) configuration while providing sufficient channel volume to support high throughput of fluid sparse of cells.

Method and apparatus for recycling heptafluoroisobutyronitrile
A method and device for purifying heptafluoroisobutyronitrile and a dilution gas from a used gas mixture comprising heptafluoroisobutyronitrile, a dilution gas and arcing by-products. The method comprising the steps of (a) contacting the used gas mixture with at least one adsorbent material to generate a gas stream depleted in arcing by-products; (b) contacting the gas stream depleted in by-products with a first membrane to obtain a first permeate stream rich in the dilution gas, and a first retentate stream rich in heptafluoroisobutyronitrile; (c) contacting the first permeate stream rich in the dilution gas with a second membrane to obtain a second permeate stream rich in the dilution gas and a second retentate stream rich in heptafluoroisobutyronitrile; and (d) combining the first and second retentate streams rich in heptafluoroisobutyronitrile.

GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE USING FURAN-BASED POLYMERS
Disclosed herein is a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer, an apparatus comprising the gas separation membrane, and a process for separating a mixture of gases using said gas separation membrane. The process comprises contacting one side of a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer with a mixture of gases having different gas permeances, whereby at least one gas from the mixture of gases permeates preferentially across the gas separation membrane, thereby separating the at least one gas from the mixture of gases.
