ALUMINUM OXIDE SUPPORTED GAS PERMEABLE MEMBRANES
A semi-porous composite membrane and a method of manufacturing the semi-porous composite membrane. The semi-porous composite membrane includes a base supporting substrate comprising α-Al.sub.2O.sub.3, an outer layer comprising silica, and an intermediate layer comprising crystalline fibers of boehmite, and at least one of a secondary metal oxide and a synthetic polymer, wherein the intermediate layer is disposed between the base supporting substrate and the outer layer. The crystalline fibers of boehmite are a length of 5-150 nm. The semi-porous composite membrane may be employed in membrane reactors.
POLYARYLENE ETHER
A polyarylene ether comprising in polymerized form A) at least one tri- or higher functional compound and B) isosorbide, isomannide, isoidide or a mixture thereof, wherein the polyarylene ether is a polyarylene ether sulfone or a polyarylene ether ketone, a process for its preparation and its use in the preparation of a coating, film, fiber, foam, membrane or molded article.
SELECTIVELY PERMEABLE POLYMERIC MEMBRANE
Described herein are crosslinked polymeric based composite membranes that provide selective resistance for gases while providing water vapor permeability. Such composite membranes have a high water/air selectivity in permeability. The methods for making such membranes and using the membranes for dehydrating or removing water vapor from gases are also described.

PROCESS FOR PREPARING ALDEHYDES AND SEPARATION OF THE CATALYST SYSTEM BY MEMBRANE SEPARATION
The present invention provides a process for preparing aldehydes from C2 to C20 olefins using a subsequent membrane separation to separate the homogeneously dissolved catalyst system, wherein prior to the membrane separation a gas exchange that increases the partial pressure fraction of carbon monoxide or hydrogen is carried out in order to boost catalyst retention by the membrane.

Passive sampler and methods of making
Described herein are passive samplers, making of such samplers, and methods of use. In an example embodiment, a passive sampling membrane comprises, for example, a continuous mesoporous sequestration media having a sequestration phase and a support membrane configured to support the sequestration phase. The sequestration phase may include a hydrophobic region and a hydrophilic region. The continuous mesoporous sequestration media may be configured to simultaneously sequester polar and non-polar organic substances.
MEMBRANE COMPRISING A BLEND OF POLYARYLETHERSULFONE AND POLYARYLETHERKETONE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composition for the manufacturing of a porous article, notably a membrane, which comprises a semi-crystalline polymer, an amorphous polymer and at least one water-soluble salt. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing said porous article and to its use for purifying fluid(s).
COMPOSITE GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE
The present invention relates to a gas separation membrane for separating a target gas species from a mixture of gas species, the membrane comprising: (i) a porous substrate having a first and second surface region between which the mixture of gas species will flow; (ii) a sealing polymer layer of different composition to the porous substrate that (a) forms a continuous coating across the second surface region of the substrate, and (b) is permeable to the mixture of gas species; and (iii) a selective polymer layer in the form of a cross linked macromolecular film that (a) is located on and covalently coupled to the sealing polymer layer, and (b) has a higher permeability to the target gas species relative to other gas species present in the mixture of gas species that is to be subjected to separation.
