SEPARATION MEMBRANE MODULE
A separation membrane module includes a case and a separation membrane built in the case, wherein the separation membrane module satisfies the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) the separation membrane contains a hydrophobic polymer, a hydrophilic polymer, and a biocompatible copolymer, the hydrophilic polymer containing a hydrophilic polymer having mobility, (2) the separation membrane contains the hydrophilic polymer having mobility in a range of 1.0 to 1.7% by mass, and (3) a water content per self-weight of the separation membrane is in a range of 0 to 10% by mass. The separation membrane module is provided in which fouling of a membrane is suppressed and the amount of eluted substance is small.
CO2-philic thin film composite membranes
Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a copolymer composition comprising a polyether-based copolymer, wherein the copolymer dissolves in one or more of an alcohol and alcohol-water mixture. Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a thin-film composite membrane comprising a porous support and a selective layer comprising a polyether-based copolymer, wherein the polyether-based copolymer dissolves in one or more of an alcohol and alcohol-water mixture. Embodiments of the present disclosure describe a method of capturing one or more chemical species comprising contacting a thin-film composite membrane with a fluid composition, wherein the fluid composition includes at least CO.sub.2 and capturing CO.sub.2 from the fluid composition. Embodiments of the present disclosure also describe methods of synthesizing copolymer compositions and methods of fabricating composite membranes.
GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE USING FURAN-BASED POLYMERS
Disclosed herein is a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer, an apparatus comprising the gas separation membrane, and a process for separating a mixture of gases using said gas separation membrane. The process comprises contacting one side of a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer with a mixture of gases having different gas permeances, whereby at least one gas from the mixture of gases permeates preferentially across the gas separation membrane, thereby separating the at least one gas from the mixture of gases.

Disclosed herein is a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer, an apparatus comprising the gas separation membrane, and a process for separating a mixture of gases using said gas separation membrane. The process comprises contacting one side of a gas separation membrane comprising a furan-based polymer with a mixture of gases having different gas permeances, whereby at least one gas from the mixture of gases permeates preferentially across the gas separation membrane, thereby separating the at least one gas from the mixture of gases.
ASYMMETRIC HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Asymmetric hollow fiber membranes, membrane contactors, and related production and use methods. The asymmetric hollow fiber membranes include a porous substrate having a multiplicity of pores, the porous substrate including at least a first semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin copolymer derived by polymerizing at most 3 wt. % of linear or branched alpha olefin monomers with at least 97 wt. % of 4-methyl-1-pentene monomer. The asymmetric hollow fiber membranes also include a skin layer overlaying the porous substrate, the skin layer including a second semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin copolymer derived by polymerizing at least 2 wt. % of linear or branched alpha olefin monomers with at most 98 wt. % of 4-methyl-1-pentene monomer. The skin layer is less porous than the porous substrate and forms an outer surface of the asymmetric hollow fiber membrane, while the porous substrate forms an inner surface of the hollow fiber membrane. The skin layer is preferably nonporous.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING CARBON MONOXIDE CONTAINED IN INDUSTRIAL BY-PRODUCT GAS
Disclosed herein is a system for recovering carbon monoxide from an industrial by-product gas, the system including a supply unit for supplying an industrial by-product gas containing carbon dioxide, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen, a first membrane separation unit including a separation membrane capable of allowing carbon dioxide and hydrogen to permeate, and receiving the industrial by-product gas supplied from the supply unit to allow carbon dioxide and hydrogen to permeate, and a second membrane separation unit including a polymer membrane in which a transition metal is supported, and receiving a gas remaining in the first membrane separation unit to allow carbon monoxide to permeate.
HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANES WITH NUCLEATING AGENT AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Hollow fiber membranes, membrane contactors, and related production and use methods. The membranes include a substrate having a multiplicity of pores and a skin layer overlaying the porous substrate. The porous substrate includes a first semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin (co)polymer resin and a nucleating agent in an amount effective to achieve nucleation. The skin layer includes a second semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyolefin (co)polymer resin derived by polymerizing at most 98 wt. % of 4-methyl-1-pentene monomer with at least 2 wt. % of linear or branched alpha olefin monomers. Preferably, the first thermoplastic polyolefin (co)polymer is different from the second thermoplastic polyolefin (co)polymer. The skin layer is less porous than the porous substrate and forms an outer surface of the hollow fiber with the porous substrate forming an inner surface. The hollow fibers are formed by co-extruding the porous substrate resin and the skin layer resin through an annular die.
ZWITTERION-FUNCTIONALIZED COPOLYMER HOLLOW-FIBER MEMBRANES AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A hollow-fiber membrane is presented. The hollow fiber membrane, includes a copolymer including sulfone structural units having a formula (I) and zwitterion-functionalized structural units having a formula (II). Method of making the hollow-fiber membrane is also presented.
