Mesh spacer hybrid

A method of placing an implant for intervertebral fusion between adjacent vertebral bodies in a patient includes inserting the implant in a space between the adjacent vertebral bodies such that both a first intervertebral spacer body and a second intervertebral spacer body contact each of the adjacent vertebral bodies. The first intervertebral spacer body is spaced apart from the second intervertebral spacer body. An expandable container portion of the implant disposed between the first intervertebral spacer body and the second intervertebral spacer body is filled with fill material such that the expandable container expands to contact each of the adjacent vertebral bodies.

A stent is disclosed that has an elongated body having a proximal end, a distal end, at least one open spiral channel formed on the exterior surface of the body to provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end. The stent also has a central lumen open at the proximal and distal ends of the stent for the passage of a guide wire. A method for using the stent and a kit containing the stent are also disclosed.

PARAVALVULAR LEAK RESISTANT PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE SYSTEM

A paravalvular leak resistant prosthetic heart valve system including a stent frame, a valve structure and a sealing mechanism. The stent frame has a surface. The valve structure is associated with the stent frame. The sealing mechanism at least partially extends over the surface of the stent frame. The sealing mechanism includes at least one semi-permeable membrane and an osmotic gradient driving material.

MEDICAL TREATMENT DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS THEREOF

A medical device, comprising a tube including at least one lumen, an absorbent located at a distal portion of the tube, the absorbent being configured to transition from a compressed state to an expanded state, and a structure fixed to the absorbent, wherein the structure is configured to flex into a compressed state and an expanded state simultaneously with the compressed state and the expanded state of the absorbent, and the structure exposes at least a portion of the absorbent.

A stent is disclosed that has an elongated body composed of a bioabsorbable polymer having a proximal end, a distal end, two open spiral channels formed on the exterior surface of the body to provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end. The stent also has a central lumen open at the proximal and distal ends of the stent for the passage of a guide wire. A method for using the stent and a kit containing the stent are also disclosed.

Accommodating intraocular lenses and methods of use

Accommodating intraocular lenses and methods of use. The accommodating intraocular lenses include peripheral regions that are adapted to be more responsive to certain types of forces than to other types of forces. For example, the accommodating intraocular lenses can include haptics that are stiffer in an anterior-to-posterior direction than in a radial direction.

Devices for adjusting the curvature of cardiac valve structures
11166818 · 2021-11-09 · ·

An interventional curvature device for temporarily adjusting the structure of a heart during a heart valve repair procedure in order to enhance the effectiveness of the heart valve repair procedure. The curvature device is adjustable between a collapsed configuration with a profile suitable for delivery of the device to a coronary sinus and great cardiac vein of a patient, and an expanded configuration for lodging of the device at the coronary sinus and great cardiac vein. The curvature device has a distal section that anchors within the great cardiac vein, and a proximal section that anchors within the coronary sinus. A tether is coupled to the distal end of the device and extends through the device and past the proximal end. An increase in tension in the tether increases the curvature of the device.

System for deploying a device to a distal location across a diseased vessel

Devices, systems and methods for filtering embolic particles that may be generated from a medical procedure including protection of the major branching vessels from the aorta, and catches and filters emboli that may be generated during the TAVR procedure. The filter devices disclosed herein form an improved seal against the vessel wall that is activated by flowing blood. Devices described herein also allow for the closing of the ends of the filter device after capture of emboli, providing further security against accidental loss of emboli post capture.

Tool for placement of degradable ostial stent

A hand-held device is used to deliver and hydrate a temporary polymeric implant having a length, an outer surface and a cross-section, with a disruptable cover over the implant. A lumen may pass through the entire length, the lumen having a surface forming an equivalent diameter in the polymeric stent. The temporary polymeric implant includes a first aqueous-swellable, biocompatible and biodegradable composition (e.g., polymer) having a thickness. The aqueous-swellable and biodegradable polymer retaining structural integrity for at least 1 hours up to thirty days when swollen and kept moist by a moist aqueous environment. Barrier layers of biodegradable polymer(s) may be used to prevent migration of liquids into the lumen.
