An apparatus and method for using a detachable sealed enclosure for containing and quickly accessing filter elements and the like without the use of tools and without the possibility of initial or subsequent over tightening. A first set of paired protrusions receive lateral pinch forces which draw the enclosure into a sealed connection with a lid while selectively compressing a seal between these components. A second set of paired protrusions receive lateral pinch forces which release the sealed connection, providing access to the enclosure content.

A fluid filter arrangement, with protection against external contamination, the filter arrangement comprising: a fluid circulating system; a filter cartridge having an exterior surface; a housing having an internal fluid chamber surrounding the exterior surface of the filter cartridge, an open end through which the filter cartridge can pass along a housing axis; and a cover sealed over the open end of the housing in a closed position, the cover in an open position exposing the open end of the housing, the cover including a fluid passage in communication with the internal fluid chamber in the closed position, the cover fluid passage being in communication with the fluid circulating system in the closed position and in the open position.

A pressure control device includes a body having a groove-shaped flow path including a groove part and a widened part, and a filter unit capturing foreign matters mixed in a fluid which passes through the groove-shaped flow path; the filter unit having a frame body including a through hole part and a filter member in a planar plate shape disposed with respect to the through hole part, and the filter unit being accommodated in the widened part. Devices and methods are provided that permit efficient and selective separation of liquid biological specimens into at least two constituent components to facilitate subsequent quantitative and qualitative analysis on at least one analyte of interest in at least one of the components. The devices generally include one or more sample deposition regions supported on a base. Each sample deposition region includes a separation membrane for separating the liquid biological specimen into two different fractions. The first fraction is trapped by the separation membrane while the second fraction passes through the separation membrane and into a respective collection membrane. The separation and collection membranes are easily separable from the devices and can be utilized for further processing and analysis.

Structures for housing a filtration media for the removal and/or solidifying of synthetic ester-based fluids from liquids are provided. The structures disclosed include: a stormwater insert container for installation within a storm drain designed for intake of high volumes of water; an angling filter plug mounting structure and pre-filter basket for a flush installation on a planar floor, such that the filtration media rests beneath the floor and releases filtered liquids into a drainage area; a trench filtration assembly for installation into a trench below surface level, such that the unfiltered liquid passes through the trench and a trench box disposed within the trench filtration assembly prior to passing through the filtration media into a drainage area; and a liner box assembly for installation over an opening made in a non-permeable liner for purposes of pre-filtering contaminated liquids as it flows through the liner box and subsequently the filtration media.

A filter assembly for a refrigerator appliance includes a filter housing and a filter locking mechanism pivotally mounted at least partially within the filter housing. The filter locking mechanism includes a locking arm defining a retention clip and a resilient arm that extends from the locking arm at an extension angle of less than 90 degrees. As a filter cartridge is inserted into the filter housing, the resilient arm acts like a spring to urge the filter cartridge out of the housing. After the filter cartridge passes or engages the retention clip, the spring force from the resilient arm urges the filter cartridge against the retention clip to secure the filter cartridge within the housing.

An eco-friendly water filtration apparatus. The apparatus may comprise a lid comprising openings that allow water to flow into the apparatus, and an enclosure that is open at one end and comprises openings at the opposing end that allow water to flow out of the apparatus. The enclosure may be configured to receive a pod of activated carbon, while allowing removal of the pod, and the lid may be configured to attach to and detach from the enclosure at the enclosure's open end.

An improved solids interceptor and methods of using the same. The solids interceptor includes a tank having an inlet and at least one outlet, and an access opening on an upper end of the tank. A perforated basket is removably received within the tank via the access opening. When the basket is installed within the tank, wastewater entering the tank via the inlet flows into the basket, with the solid waste being collected in the basket and the liquid waste flowing out of the basket via the perforated screen. The basket and tank include an interlocking flange assembly that automatically axially aligns a basket inlet with an inlet pipe simply by inserting the basket into the tank. The basket is removable from the tank to easily clean out and discard solid waste accumulated in the basket.
