FILTRATION APPARATUS AND METHOD
20190299136 · 2019-10-03 ·

Provided is an apparatus and method for interacting with objects of interest. A filtering apparatus can comprise a channel system, through which objects of interest are able to diffuse. The channel system can comprise a channel of suitably configured non-uniform cross-sectional area along the length of the channel. In some embodiments, the channel system can be provided by a suitably configured porous bulk material. In some embodiments, channel system can comprise an interior chamber comprising filtered objects, where the filtered objects are contained on a first side by a first filtering surface, such as a semi-permeable membrane, and on a second side by second filtering surface, where the cross-sectional areas of a representative channel of the first and second filtering surfaces are not identical. The filtered objects can also be configured to interact with an externally applied body force, such as an electric field acting on charged filtered objects. The channel system is configured to interact with objects of interest on a scale which is smaller than a value several orders of magnitude larger than the mean free path of an object of interest. Some embodiments are configured to interact with particles, such as air molecules, water molecules, or aerosols. Other plate embodiments are configured to interact with waves or wavelike particles, such as electrons, photons, phonons or acoustic waves.

FRAME-TYPE DISC FILTER WITH BYPASS WATER CONTROL FOR PREVENTING BYPASS WATER FROM BEING USED IN BACKWASHING

A frame-type disc filter (100) is provided with a bypass water collector (33) disposed adjacent an inlet to the disc filter. Influent water overflows the inlet into the bypass water collector. A conduit is communicatively connected to the bypass water collector for directing the bypass water from the frame-type disc filter to an effluent channel that is independent of the frame-type disc filter.

INSIDE-OUT WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM

An inside-out liquid purification system includes a housing and a cartridge. The housing defines an interior space and includes an inlet at a top side of the housing, a fitting at the top side of the housing and inboard of the inlet, and an outlet at a bottom side of the housing. The cartridge is disposed within the interior space and includes a top cap having an orifice and configured to interlock with the fitting to suspend the cartridge within the interior space, a bottom cap adjacent to and suspended above the bottom side, and a filter having an annular shape and extending between the top cap and the bottom cap with the filter defining a hollow vertical column aligned with the orifice such that liquid enters the cartridge vertically through the orifice and exits the cartridge at least partially radially through the filter.

FILTER ELEMENT WITH CONVERTIBLE END CAP AND METHODS

A filter element has an end cap arrangement selectively convertible from a tapered end cap to a flat end cap, and from the flat end cap to the tapered end cap. The conversion can include coupling, such as a threaded engagement; or, it can include a snap-fit engagement.

Water filter with self-rinsing capability

Water filter with self-rinsing capability that includes filter housing, hollow cartridge core, and mesh filter. The filter housing includes a hollow housing with top and drain openings, a top cover with inlet and outlet ports, a one-way pressure valve, and a drain tap that includes a rod, an opening and closing knob that is connected to the rod, and an opening and closing barrier with passageway that is connected to the rod. The cartridge comprises of a tube with inlet and outlet passageways, and spray pipes with spray nozzles, and enables water to flows from the tube into the spray pipes and outside into the filter housing through the nozzles. The mesh filter has a shape of a hollow cylinder that is worn on the tube in a gap between the tube and the spray pipes.

Filter and filter media having reduced restriction

A pleated filter media comprises a plurality of pleats comprised of pleat segments extending in an axial direction between first and second axial ends and extending in a transverse direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction between first and second sets of pleat tips at least partially defined by first and second sets of bend lines. Axial flow channels are defined between the pleat segments in the lateral direction and the plurality of pleats has a width in the transverse direction that varies along the axial direction.

MICROPLASTIC FILTER FOR A WASHING MACHINE

A microplastic filter (also referred herein as fluid filter) for a washing machine has a filter housing, a first filter screen, a second filter screen, an inlet opening 16, and an outlet opening. The inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the first filter screen to define a direction of fluid flow. The first filter chamber has a retentate outlet, is particularly easy to handle if the second filter screen is arranged in a cavity of the filter housing, the inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the second filter screen, and the retentate outlet is arranged on a side of the second filter screen that faces the fluid flow.

LIQUID FILTER AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING ITS FILTERATION PART
20240278151 · 2024-08-22 ·

The present invention is related to a liquid filter having a filtration part for filtration of liquid, said filtration part at least comprising a first filtration layer consisting of a first material; and a second filtration layer consisting of a second material, characterized in that the filtration of liquid in the filtration part is in the order of: a first filtration, taking place at said second filtration layer; and a second filtration, taking place at said first filtration layer. The present invention is further related to a method for installing the liquid filter.

Disposable insert for strainer basket

Debris filtration and strainer systems for a fluid handling device are provided herein. The strainer systems can include one or more of a strainer basket, a removable insert, and an adapter for removably engaging the removable insert with the strainer basket. The removable insert includes a liner having a plurality of openings that are the same size as, or smaller than, the openings of a the strainer basket, and which is inserted into the strainer basket to capture debris from water passing therethrough, preventing clogging of the strainer basket and reducing the frequency of cleanings of the strainer basket. The liner can be fabricated from a biodegradable material, and thus can be easily removed, disposed of, and replaced. The removable insert can include a rigid connection tab with one or more features for removably engaging the strainer basket and/or an adapter positioned between the strainer basket and the removable insert.
