FILTER CONTAINING PHARMACEUTICAL SALT FOR A FACE MASK, BREATHABLE FACE MASK CONTAINING THE FILTER, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
A filter which includes a layer of non-woven material infused with or containing particles of pharmaceutical salt and optionally essential oil for use in a face mask, is provided. The particles can be infused by a halogenerator. The filter can be placed in a pocket on an exterior side of a facial section, or otherwise attached to the facial section of the face mask. The salt filter deactivates the virus or other pathogen and thus effectively limits the transmission of viruses and other pathogens to and from a person wearing the face mask. The facial section can be formed of a mesh material. The face mask, including the salt filter, is preferably breathable, and light-weight, reusable.

The filter cartridge further includes functional material disposed on the first major surface of each of the first and second filter media layers within a filter region of the filter cartridge, where the functional material includes active particles disposed on an adhesive layer; and a perimeter seal region that defines at least a portion of a perimeter of the filter cartridge, where at least the first and second filter media layers are connected together in the perimeter seal region. The functional material is not disposed in at least a portion of the perimeter seal region.

The present invention relates to a nonwoven fabric for cabin air filter including a low melting point polyester fiber, in which the nonwoven fabric for cabin air filter includes a first polyester fiber containing a polyester resin having a melting point higher than 250° C. and a second polyester fiber containing a low melting point polyester resin having a softening point of 100 to 150° C., the first polyester fiber is a modified cross-sectional yarn having a roundness of 50 to 80%, the second polyester fiber includes a low melting point polyester resin which is formed from an acid component included of terephthalic acid or ester-forming derivatives thereof, and a diol component included of 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 2-methyl-1,3-pentanediol, and ethylene glycol, and the second polyester fiber contains illite particles, i.e., micaceous mineral, or a mixture of the illite particles and sericite particles, and silver-based inorganic antibacterial agent particles.

The challenge of the present invention is to provide a multilayer filter medium whose deodorizing performance after a long-term storage of the filter medium is suppressed from deteriorating and which is superior in deodorizing performance and exhibits low pressure drop. A multilayer filter medium includes three or more nonwoven fabric layers superposed together and has two or more interlayer regions each formed by two adjacent layers of the nonwoven fabric layers, in which a first interlayer region of the interlayer regions contains functional particles A having an average particle diameter of 50 to 100 m, and a second interlayer region selected from the interlayer regions excluding the first interlayer region contains functional particles B having an average particle diameter of 150 to 500 m.

A filter reinforcing material is disclosed that does not cause peeling or pleat adhesion at the time of pleating, is excellent in pleating, and has high stiffness. A filter reinforcing material includes a bonding layer comprising a thermal bonded nonwoven including thermal bondable short fibers, and a reinforcing layer comprising a nonwoven including high-melting fibers having a higher melting point than a melting point of the thermal bondable short fibers having the lowest melting point in the bonding layer by 30 C. or more. Further, the bonding layer preferably comprises two or more kinds of thermal bondable short fibers with a fineness difference of more than or equal to 5 dtex.

In an embodiment, the antiallergenic substances include polyphenols or fruit acids.
