METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ANTIVIRAL FIBER PRODUCT AND ANTIVIRAL MASK CONTAINING THE PRODUCT
A method of manufacturing an antiviral fiber product includes impregnating a virus-inactivating agent into a cellulose-based fiber at a temperature of 120° C. to 200° C. and a pressure of 0.0098 MPa to 0.59 MPa. The virus-inactivating agent contains: an aqueous organic acid solution containing 40 wt % to 50 wt % of organic acid partially lactonizing when dissolved in water; zinc oxide nanoparticles dispersed in the aqueous organic acid solution; and zinc salt of organic acid generated by dispersion of the zinc oxide nanoparticles into the aqueous organic acid solution.
COMPOSITE VIRUCIDAL FILTER MEDIA
A composite virucidal filter media is described. The filter media comprises a fibrous substrate comprising a plurality of intermingled fibers, a low cost, nontoxic, hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups deposited on a surface of the fibers without the formation of a continuous coating layer on the substrate, and a virucidal metal, a virucidal metal-containing compound, or combinations thereof deposited on the surface of the fibers comprising the hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups. The hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups can be charged or non-charged. Methods of making virucidal fibrous filter media are also described.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE NOSE MASK
A Personal Protective Equipment that fits in the Nose of living species, especially human beings, this nose mask is designed for ease of use, comfort to the user, and most of all to filter harmful viruses, bacteria, other filterable microbes, dust particles, and prevent them from entering into their nostrils, thereby protecting the user and preventing them from contracting diseases such as but not limited to COVID-19 (largely known as the novel corona virus during the years 2019 to 2021 pandemic time period), while they are at work, outside, and/or indoors, to ensure that they lead a healthy life. Additionally this Personal Protective Nose Mask can be used for betterment of health by patients, under a Physician's care/treatment who are prescribed inhalable medicines.
Filtration Media
The disclosure relates to a filtration media comprising a fibrous web impregnated with a resin composition comprising lignin. The fibrous web comprises the lignin in an amount of from 0.1 to 30 wt % by weight of the fibrous web, and the lignin has a density of less than 1.2 g/cm.sup.3 or a weight average molecular weight of less than 20,000 g/mol. The disclosure further relates to a method of manufacturing the filtration media.
NICKEL-BASED AIRBORNE PATHOGEN INHIBITOR AGAINST MICROBES, INCLUDING COVID-19
A filter matrix of nickel, nickel alloy, nickel-plated, nickel-oxide, nickel compound, or a combination thereof, surfaces, surface coatings, and impregnated surfaces that inhibit the growth of microbes that come in contact or in proximity to the surface of the filter. The nickel-based filter matrix reduces and/or eliminates microbes from air that flows over or through the filter. A fan or pressure differential can be used to blow or draw the fluid or air across the treated surfaces.
FILTER MEDIUM FOR DEACTIVATING PATHOGENS AND/OR ALLERGENS
The present invention relates to a filter medium, a filter arrangement for the filtration of gas-particle systems comprising such a filter medium, a method for depleting pathogens and/or allergens from the air and other gases by means of such a filter medium, and the use of the filter medium for depleting pathogens and/or allergens from the air and other gases. The filter medium includes at least one acid-functionalized layer comprising at least one carrier material and at least one fruit acid having a pks1 value of 0 to 7. The at least one acid-functionalized layer is free of added C.sub.8 to C.sub.18 fatty acids and their esters and amides thereof. The at least one acid-functionalized layer contains the at least one fruit acid in an amount of 2 wt. % to 30 wt. %, based on the total weight of the at least one acid-functionalized layer.
ANTIVIRAL ELEMENT AND PERSONNEL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT CONTAINING SAME
Provided is graphene-based personnel protection equipment (PPE) product, comprising: (a) a fabric, clothing, face shield, face mask, or glove body configured to support graphene sheets; and (b) graphene sheets deposited on a surface of the body or at least partially embedded in the body, wherein the graphene sheets comprise a plurality of discrete single-layer or few-layer graphene sheets selected from pristine graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene fluoride, graphene chloride, graphene bromide, graphene iodide, hydrogenated graphene, nitrogenated graphene, doped graphene, chemically functionalized graphene, or a combination thereof. Preferably, surfaces of graphene sheets carry an anti-microbial compound, preferably in the form of a nanoparticle, nano-wire, or nano-coating.
