System and method for implanting and securing a bioprosthetic device to wet tissue

Systems, devices, kits, and methods are described for securing a bioprosthetic heart valve within an anatomical feature of a patient. Kits can comprise a bioprosthetic heart valve, a curable composition, and an applicator configured to deliver the curable composition to a target area. The bioprosthetic heart valve can comprise a support structure and one or more valve leaflets coupled thereto. The support structure can comprise a sewing portion peripheral of the bioprosthetic heart valve. The support structure and the valve leaflets can define a central flow orifice. The curable composition can comprise a pre-polymer composition and an initiator. Methods can comprise positioning the bioprosthetic heart valve within the anatomical feature of a patient, applying the curable composition to one or both of the bioprosthetic heart valve and the anatomical feature, and curing the curable composition for a cure time. The applying can be performed before or after the positioning.

Sac for use in spinal surgery
10143560 · 2018-12-04 ·

A method for fusing spinal bone is provided. The method comprises placing a sac between two or more adjacent sections of the spine to be fused, inserting a cage into the sac, and filling the sac with bone tissue. The surfaces of the sac abutting the sections of the spine comprise porous material for allowing bone to grow between the spine and the sac. Surfaces of the sac not abutting the sections of the spine are nonporous to bodily fluids and thereby prevent premature deterioration of the bone tissue inside the sac. The cage maintains the sac in an expanded state upon filling. A kit comprising the sac and cage is also provided. In other embodiments of the invention, the method comprises placing an inner sac inside the inventive sac and filling the sacs with bone tissue for fusion of spinal bone.

EXTRA LUMINAL SCAFFOLD

Methods and devices for treating a luminal pathology affecting an anatomical lumen of a patient comprising forming, in situ, a continuous cohesive layer of covalently-crosslinked hydrogel in a luminal wall of the anatomical lumen.

SPINAL IMPLANT WITH EXPANDABLE FIXATION
20180333270 · 2018-11-22 ·

A spinal implant which is configured to be deployed between adjacent vertebral bodies. The implant has at least one fixation element with a retracted configuration to facilitate deployment of the implant and an extended configuration so as to engage a surface of an adjacent vertebral body and secure the implant between two vertebral bodies. Preferably, the implant is expandable and has a minimal dimension in its unexpanded state that is smaller than the dimensions of the neuroforamen through which it must pass to be deployed within the intervertebral space. Once within the space between vertebral bodies, the implant can be expanded so as to engage the endplates of the adjacent vertebrae to effectively distract the anterior disc space, stabilize the motion segments and eliminate pathologic spine motion. Angular deformities can be corrected, and natural curvatures restored and maintained.

PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE DOCKING ASSEMBLY

In a representative embodiment, an implantable assembly for a native heart valve comprises a prosthetic heart valve and first and second inflatable bodies. The prosthetic heart valve can comprise a frame and prosthetic leaflets. The first inflatable body can comprise first and second end portions, wherein the first end portion is configured to be secured to tissue of the native heart valve at a first location, and the second end portion is configured to engage an outer surface of the prosthetic valve. The second inflatable body can comprise third and fourth end portions, wherein the third end portion is configured to be secured to tissue of the native heart valve at a second location, and the fourth end portion is configured to engage the outer surface of the prosthetic valve. The first and second inflatable bodies anchor the prosthetic valve within the annulus of the native heart valve.

Implantable heart valve devices, mitral valve repair devices and associated systems and methods

Systems, devices and methods for repairing a native heart valve. In one embodiment, a repair device (100) for repairing a native mitral valve having an anterior leaflet and a posterior leaflet between a left atrium and a left ventricle comprises a support (110) having a contracted configuration and an extended configuration. In the contracted configuration, the support is sized to be inserted under the posterior leaflet between a wall of the left ventricle and chordae tendineae. In the extended configuration, the support is configured to project anteriorly with respect to a posterior wall of the left ventricle by a distance sufficient to position at least a portion of the posterior leaflet toward the anterior leaflet.

SPINAL TISSUE DISTRACTION DEVICES

Spinal tissue distraction devices that include a member which has a pre-deployed configuration for insertion between tissue layers and a deployed configuration in which the member, by change of configuration, forms a support structure for separating and supporting layers of spinal tissue

In-situ formed intervertebral fusion device and method
10085843 · 2018-10-02 · ·

An orthopedic device for implanting between adjacent vertebrae comprising: an arcuate balloon and a hardenable material within said balloon. In some embodiments, the balloon has a footprint that substantially corresponds to a perimeter of a vertebral endplate. An inflatable device is inserted through a cannula into an intervertebral space and oriented so that, upon expansion, a natural angle between vertebrae will be at least partially restored. At least one component selected from the group consisting of a load-bearing component and an osteobiologic component is directed into the inflatable device through a fluid communication means.

Systems, Methods and Apparatuses for Formation and Insertion of Tissue Prosthesis

A tissue insertion prosthesis system includes a method to facilitate a removal of a biomaterial delivery device from an inflatable member that has been inserted into a cavity formed by the removal of a portion of a nuclear material from an intervertebral disc and to be filled by a tissue prosthesis.
