In certain embodiments the filter media includes a media fiber (such as glass) and a binder fiber (such as bicomponent) that combine to create a media structure having low solidity and relatively low compressibility, and which contain a pore structure that avoids premature fouling of the filter by fuel degradation products.

The second end can include a second opening for transmitting the fluid. A filtering segment can be disposed between the first end and the second end. The filtering segment can include a plurality of fiber filters oriented substantially perpendicular to a direction of flow of the fluid in the pipe. A fiber filter of the plurality of fiber filters can include a mycomaterial and a carrier material configured to provide nutrients to the mycomaterial.

This disclosure describes a filtration composite that includes multiple layers of filtration media. In some embodiment, the filtration composite is preferably substantially glass-free or glass-free. When the composite is glass-free or substantially glass-free, the composite preferably exhibits capacity and efficiency comparable to or better than similar glass-containing filtration media. The composite includes a first nonwoven filtration medium including bicomponent fibers, efficiency fibers having a fiber diameter in a range of 1 micron to 5 microns, and microfibrillated fiber; an optional second nonwoven filtration medium; and a third nonwoven filtration medium including efficiency fibers having a fiber diameter of at least 0.1 micron and less than 1 micron.

An object of the present invention is to provide a filtering device which makes it possible to obtain a chemical liquid having excellent performance and enables filter media to have sufficiently long pot life. Another object of the present invention is to provide a purification device, a chemical liquid manufacturing device, a filtered substance to be purified, a chemical liquid, and an actinic ray-sensitive or radiation-sensitive resin composition. A filtering device according to an embodiment of the present invention has a first filter unit including a first filter, which satisfies at least one condition selected from the group consisting of following conditions 1 to 3, and a housing accommodating the first filter and a second filter unit including a second filter different from the first filter and a housing accommodating the second filter, in which the first filter unit and the second filter unit are independently disposed in a pipe line through which a substance to be purified is supplied. Condition 1: the filter has a filter medium including two or more layers containing materials different from each other. A column-based device and method for retrieving cells of interest were enclosed. The said device comprises a column comprising (i) an inner wall defining an inner chamber with inlet and outlet openings, (ii) a perforated plug disposed adjacent to the outlet opening, (iii) a sleeve insert with a channel and disposed within the chamber and adjacent to the perforated plug, and (iv) a filtering means housed within sleeve insert sandwiched between two sealing means. In particular, Tumor-derived endothelial cell clusters (TECCs) as characterized multiple nuclei, expression of endothelial markers (PECAM1, VWF and CDH5), and non-expression of leukocyte, megakaryocyte and platelets markers, may be retrieved using the disclosed device. Also encompassed are methods, reagents and kits for the diagnosis and prognosis of cancers by detecting for the presence of TECCs isolated from blood samples using the claimed device.
