Air Purification and Decontamination Devices, Systems, and Methods
Air purification devices include an air inlet and outlet, upstream and downstream sections in air flow communication with the air inlet and outlet and a filter removably positioned between the upstream and downstream sections to filter at least pathogens from air being passed through the filter. One or more ultraviolet (UV) illuminating sources may be positioned in at least the upstream section proximate the filter to illuminate at least an upstream surface of the filter with sufficient UV radiation to kill viable pathogens that accumulate on the filter. One or more ozone generating sources may be positioned to generate ozone in sufficient concentrations to kill viable pathogens proximate the device. The UV illuminating sources and ozone generating sources may be positioned to provide a predetermined pressure drop across the sources and air flow pattern proximate the filter, and enable the filter to be removed without handling the sources.
Device for Removing Fats, Oils and/or Grease (FOGs) from Water
A device and a method for removing fats, oils and/or grease (“FOGs”) from water comprise a separator, wherein the separator removes the FOGs that separate from the water under gravity, and a filter wherein the filter removes the FOGs remaining in the water after the water has passed through the separator. The filter comprises several layers having different compositions suitable for removing FOGs from water, including a layer comprising granular activated carbon bonded together and wrapped in polyester.
Nonwoven fabric and filter
A nonwoven fabric, including fibers, in which the fibers have an elongational viscosity, as measured under conditions at an elongational strain rate of 2.5×10.sup.2 (1/s) and a temperature of 160° C., of from 430 Pa.Math.s to 1200 Pa.Math.s, and a ratio of the elongational viscosity (Pa.Math.s) to a shear viscosity (Pa.Math.s) of the fiber, as measured under conditions at a shear strain rate of 2.5×10.sup.2 (1/s) and a temperature of 160° C., is from 35 to 65.
Fibrous nonwoven and method for the production thereof
The invention relates to a fibrous nonwoven, in particular for a filter medium, having a first layer, wherein at least one single-piece fiber strand of said first layer has a first fiber portion and a second fiber portion in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the fiber strand has a thickening substantially in said second fiber portion.
HYBRID METHOD FOR CARBON CAPTURE
A method of removing carbon dioxide from a gas can include providing a gaseous feed stream including a carbon dioxide gas and adsorbing the carbon dioxide gas with a porous carbon sorbent. The method can further include de-adsorbing the carbon dioxide and combining the carbon dioxide with a substantially pure hydrogen gas to produce at least one of methane and methanol. The adsorbing and de-adsorbing of the carbon dioxide gas can be conducted by an electric swing adsorption.
Self-cleaning water filter
A filtration apparatus for a container, the apparatus includes a connection portion for securing the apparatus to the container; a housing; a hand pump attached to the housing, the hand pump comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a user-operated actuator, the hand pump is configured to pass filtered water through the inlet in a first direction towards the outlet of the hand pump during a first stroke of the user-operated actuator, and in both the first direction and in a second direction opposite to the first direction during a second stroke of the user-operated actuator; and a filter fluidly connected to the inlet of the hand pump, the housing is configured to house the filter and at least part of the hand pump, the housing is configured to pass water, the filter is configured to be a two-way valve for regulating water flow between the housing and the hand pump.
FILTER MEDIUM AND COMPOSITE FILTER INCLUDING SAME
Provided is a filter medium. A filter medium according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first porous support body which has been electrostatically treated; and a nanofiber web which is disposed on one surface of the first support body and formed by accumulating nanofibers. Accordingly, excellent air filtering efficiency is obtained even for fine dust of PM 2.5 or below, and furthermore, deterioration in air filtering efficiency may be prevented or minimized even when usage is extended for a long period of time. Therefore, the filter medium and the composite filter according to an embodiment of the present invention can be widely utilized as media of filters for various air filtering devices.
FILTERING MATERIAL AND FILTER FOR RETAINING POLYAROMATIC HYDROCARBONS, CARBONYLS AND OTHER COMPOUNDS FROM SMOKE FROM TOBACCO PRODUCTS
A hybrid graphene material and a filter capable of retaining, in whole or in part, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, carbonyl and other smoke compounds from tobacco products or industrial processes, having as adsorbent substances activated carbon and graphene materials, both supported by the same matrix and in the same filter compartment, which may or may not be attached to another conventional filter compartment of cellulose acetate fibers or similar polymer, and a method for manufacturing such material.
BLOOD COMPONENTS COLLECTION AND SEPARATION MEDIA, BLOOD COMPONENTS COLLECTION AND SEPARATION DEVICE COMPRISING SAID MEDIA, AND BLOOD COMPONENTS SEPARATION AND EXTRACTION PROCESS IMPLEMENTING SAID MEDIA
The present invention relates to a blood components collection and separation media (1) comprising a substrate (3) having a maximal flow pore size enabling the retention of at least red cells on the surface of the substrate (3), the blood components collection and separation media (1) comprises boundary walls (7) forming a pattern (9) and being made of a hydrophobic resin, and the pattern (9) presenting: a collection zone (91); at least one storage zone (93) aimed at collecting at least one component of the whole blood sample (5); and at least one channel (95) connecting the collection zone (91) to the at least one storage zone (93), the channel (95) forming a bottleneck between the collection zone (91) and the storage zone (93). The present invention further relates to a blood components collection and separation device and a blood components separation and extraction process.
Face Aerogel Cover Equipment
Provided is a protective mask that includes one or more layers of an air-permeable aerogel. The aerogel can be nonmetallic, metallic, metallic oxide, semi-conductive, or any combination thereof.
