Air filtration articles
The present invention provides compositions comprising cellulose fibers and cellulose ester fibers and wet laid articles made from the compositions, as well as wet laid processes to produce these compositions. More specifically, the present invention provided compositions comprising cellulose fibers and cellulose acetate fibers and wet laid articles made from these compositions as well as wet laid processes to produce these compositions. The present invention also relates to developing a composition, process, wet laid product, or articles exhibiting any one of many the desired benefits. The present invention also relates to a filter media for air filtration comprising cellulose fiber and a staple fiber; wherein said staple filter comprises cellulose ester; wherein said air permeability is higher for a given mean pore size as compared to a filtration that comprises 100% cellulose.
FILTER MATERIAL FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL FILTER
Provided is a filter material for an automatic transmission oil filter that has excellent filtration performance and that can trap even dust having a small particle size. The filter material comprises an entangled nonwoven fabric in which fine fibers generated from dividable composite fibers are entangled with each other.
NON-WOVEN FABRIC AND SEPARATOR FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL ELEMENTS
It is an object of the present invention to provide a nonwoven fabric having mechanical strength which is hardly cut and broken by an external force, and a separator for electrochemical devices using the nonwoven fabric.
The inventive nonwoven fabric has a sum of tensile strengths by zero-span per basis weight in the machine direction and the cross-machine direction of 6.5N/50 mm or more. Thus, the strength of the constituent fibers of this nonwoven fabric against an external force is high, and this nonwoven fabric has mechanical strength which is hardly cut and broken by an external force.
The separator for electrochemical devices of the present invention is composed of this nonwoven fabric.
CELL SEPARATION FILTER, FILTERING DEVICE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR CELL SEPARATION FILTER
There are provide a cell separation filter with which cells can be separated without damage and can suppress adsorption, a filtering device, and a manufacturing method for a cell separation filter. The cell separation filter is composed of a nonwoven fabric that is formed of fibers containing a water-insoluble polymer and a hydrophilizing agent and has a fiber density difference in the film thickness direction. The nonwoven fabric has an average through-hole diameter of 2.0 μm or more and less than 10.0 μm, a void ratio of 75% or more and 98% or less, a film thickness of 100 μm or more, and a critical wet surface tension of 72 mN/m or more.
Internally reinforced aerogel and uses thereof
Internally reinforced aerogels, articles of manufacture and uses thereof are described. An internally reinforced aerogel includes an aerogel having a support at least partially penetrating the aerogel and having the aerogel penetrating the porous structure of the support.
FILTER MEDIA COMPRISING ADSORPTIVE PARTICLES
Filter media comprising adsorptive particles are generally described. In some embodiments, the adsorptive particles are present in a relatively large amount, in a layer discrete from one or more other layers and/or fiber webs also present in the filter media, and/or in a layer that comprises a relatively low amount of fibers. In some embodiments, the filter media further comprises a non-woven fiber web comprising fibers with relatively small diameters.
FILTER MEDIA COMPRISING POLYAMIDE FIBERS
Filter media, including those suitable for hydraulic, fuel, HVAC, HEPA, and/or other applications, and related methods are provided. In some embodiments, a filter media described herein may include a layer (e.g., a fine fiber layer) comprising a plurality of fibers comprising polyamide 11. In some embodiments, a filter media comprises a layer (e.g., a fine fiber layer) comprising a plurality of electrospun fibers comprising a material having one or more advantageous properties. In an exemplary set of embodiments, the plurality of fibers comprise polyamide 11 (e.g., Nylon 11). In some embodiments, the polyamide 11 fibers are produced by an electrospinning process.
NONWOVEN FABRIC, NONWOVEN FABRIC MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND FILTER
A nonwoven fabric is formed of fibers of 0.10 μm or more and 5.00 μm or less. The nonwoven fabric includes a coarse layer portion and a dense layer portion. In the coarse layer portion, a void volume Pc is at least 90% and an average pore diameter Dc is in a range of 0.5 μm or more and 50 μm or less. In the dense layer portion, a void volume Pd is at least 70% and a relative standard deviation of pore diameter distribution is 20% or less.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT THAT EMPLOYS AN ELECTRIC FIELD FOR INACTIVATING MICROORGANISMS
A macro electrically active mask includes two conductive layers separated by at least one filtering and insulating layer. The conductive layers are connected to each other by a power source. The power source includes an oscillator and a high voltage transformer. The power source generates a periodic voltage with a fundamental frequency and multiple harmonic frequencies. The power source is connected between the two conductive layers and the periodic voltage generates a periodic electric field between the two conductive layers. The fundamental frequency, the duty cycle, and the amplitude of the periodic voltage are configured to inactivate the microorganism that pass through the electric field.
FILTER MEDIA COMPRISING FIBRILLATED FIBERS AND GLASS FIBERS
Filter media comprising non-woven fiber webs having one or more advantageous physical properties are generally described. In some embodiments, a filter media and/or non-woven fiber web described herein comprises a combination of fibers that results in enhanced physical properties. For example, the non-woven fiber web may comprise a combination of fiber types that is advantageous, such as a combination comprising fibrillated fibers, glass fibers, and/or binder fibers. In some cases, the filter media and/or non-woven fiber web comprising the combination of fibers may be formed into undulations (e.g., by a creping and/or microcreping process) to further enhance the physical properties of the filter media and/or non-woven fiber.
