FILTER MEDIA INCLUDING ADHESIVES AND/OR OLEOPHOBIC PROPERTIES
Articles and methods involving filter media are generally provided. In certain embodiments, the filter media includes at least a first layer, a second layer, and an adhesive resin positioned between the first layer and the second layer. In some embodiments, the first layer may be a pre-filter layer or a support layer. The second layer may, for example, comprise fibers formed by a solution spinning process and/or may comprise fine fibers. In some embodiments, the adhesive resin may be present in a relatively low amount and/or may have a low glass transition temperature. The filter media as a whole may have one or more advantageous properties, including one or more of a high stiffness, a high bond strength between the first layer and the second layer, a high gamma, and/or a low increase in air resistance after being subjected to an IPA vapor discharge. The filter media may be, for example, a HEPA filter and/or an ULPA filter.
Filter media, elements, and methods
Fibrous filter medium that includes a surface-loading filter layer comprising fine fibers having an average diameter of less than 1 micron; a depth loading filter layer; and a support layer; wherein the layers are configured and arranged for placement in a gas stream with the surface loading filter layer being the most upstream layer.
HIGH BURST STRENGTH WET-LAID NONWOVEN FILTRATION MEDIA AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME
Fibrous filtration media and method of making the same are provided. According to preferred embodiments, the filtration media includes an embossed wet-laid hot area-calendered nonwoven fibrous web which includes synthetic staple fibers, and from about 20 wt. % to about 80 wt. %, based on total weight of the fibrous web, of bicomponent staple fibers dispersed through the fibrous web. The fibrous web exhibits dry and wet burst strengths of greater than 5 bar, usually greater than 10 bar, and more preferably greater than about 12 bar, or even greater than about 15 bar in some embodiments.
Filter media including adhesives
Systems and Methods for Swimming Pool Filtration
Apparatus, systems, and methods for a pool filtration system including a basket with a flexible netting that is customizably designed and versatile in its functionality. The basket can be made from modern plastic or plastic-like materials. The weather-resistant, durable materials benefit the netting design for capturing and holding debris in a pool filtration system.
AIR FILTER MEDIUM, FILTER PLEAT PACK, AND AIR FILTER UNIT
The air filter medium of the present invention is an air filter medium including a stack of a porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane and an air-permeable support member, a repulsive force generated in the medium when the medium is compressed in a thickness direction thereof is equal to or greater than 30 kPa and equal to or less than 150 kPa at a compression ratio of 30%, and at least one main surface of the air filter medium is formed by the air-permeable support member and has a maximum coefficient of friction of 24 gf or less. The air filter medium of the present invention is an air filter medium that uses a porous PTFE membrane and in which a decrease in collection efficiency due to pleating is inhibited.
FILTER MEDIA WITH IRREGULAR STRUCTURE
Articles and methods relating to filter media are generally provided. In some embodiments, a filter media has an irregular surface structure. For instance, the filter media may comprise a plurality of peaks that are irregular in one or more ways. A ratio of a peak height standard deviation to an average peak height may be greater than or equal to 0.05, and/or a ratio of a peak spacing standard deviation to an average peak spacing may be greater than or equal to 0.08. In some embodiments, a filter media comprises a non-woven fiber web having a layer thickness of greater than 0.3 mm and/or a stiffness of less than or equal to 100 mg.
Filter media comprising binder components
Filter media comprising a non-woven web including one or more binder components are provided. In some embodiments, the non-woven web comprises fibers and one or more binder components (e.g., monocomponent binder fibers, binder particles). The binder component(s) may impart strength and/or durability to the non-woven web without adversely affecting one or more filtration properties (e.g., air permeability, efficiency, dust holding capacity). In such cases, the non-woven web may function as both a filtration and support layer. For instance, the non-woven web may trap particulate matter and allow the filter media to be pleated and/or utilized in a filter element without the need for additional support structures. Filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications such as fuel filtration, hydraulic filtration, lube filtration, gas turbine filtration, air filtration, and water filtration, though the media may also be used in other applications.
Filter For The Filtration Of A Liquid Metal
A filter for filtering a liquid metal and to be received in a mold housing defined by internal side and face walls. The filter has a top wall and side walls extending downwardly from the top wall, the side walls being joined together at respective corners. The side walls extend downwardly towards distal end portions. The corners of the filter have a stiffness or rigidity that is higher that the remainder of the filter for increasing the strength of the overall filter and for helping the filter to maintain its shape and integrity throughout casting. The shape of the side walls allows an easy and consistent placement of the filter in the mold housing and ensures that the filter is maintained in place.
