POROUS IMPLANTABLE DEVICES
Porous implantable devices for housing one or more therapeutic agents are disclosed herein. The implantable devices include a porous outer wall defining an interior void. The interior void houses a carrier material carrying a first therapeutic agent. The implantable devices are made by patterning at least a portion of a polymerizable substrate into a polymerized three-dimensional porous outer wall surrounding an interior void. This can be achieved by two-photon polymerization techniques. A first therapeutic agent is then added to the interior void, which is then sealed. Methods of treating diseases using the implantable devices are disclosed herein. The methods include implanting the implantable device at a target area and locally releasing a therapeutically effective dosage of a first therapeutic agent from the interior void. The implantable devices can also be used in methods of screening potentially therapeutic agents for desired biological responses.
MULTILAYERED BIOLOGIC MESH AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Systems and methods for using surgical meshes to deliver chemotherapeutic agents and radioactive elements are presented herein. The surgical mesh may comprise multiple layers, with an inner or outer layer comprising the radioactive element, and an inner or outer layer comprising the chemotherapeutic layer. Upon exposure to physiological conditions, the surgical mesh along with pellets or powdered elements embedded therein biodegrades.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND COMPOSITIONS FOR MAINTAINING FUNCTIONING DRAINAGE BLEBS ASSOCIATED WITH FOREIGN BODIES
Methods, systems, and compositions for maintaining functioning drainage blebs to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) of an eye being treated for glaucoma. The methods, systems, and compositions feature the combination of a minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) implant or procedure and the application of beta radiation to the bleb. The beta radiation can function to inhibit or reduce the inflammation and/or fibrogenesis that typically occurs after insertion of a MIGS implant and leads to bleb failure. By reducing inflammation and/or fibrogenesis, the MIGS implant and the blebs can remain functioning appropriately.
OPHTHALMIC BRACHYTHERAPY SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR APPLICATION OF BETA RADIATION
Systems and devices for applying radiation to a target area, for example for maintaining functioning drainage blebs or functioning drainage holes in the eye, e.g., to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) of an eye being treated for glaucoma. The systems and devices of the present invention provide for the application of beta radiation to the target area, wherein the beta radiation can function to inhibit or reduce the inflammation and/or fibrogenesis that may occur after insertion of an implant into the eye or introduction of a hole for the purpose of draining aqueous humor to maintain a healthy intraocular pressure. By reducing inflammation and/or fibrogenesis, the implant, the hole, the blebs, or other related structures or tissues can remain functioning appropriately.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND COMPOSITIONS FOR MAINTAINING FUNCTIONING DRAINAGE BLEBS ASSOCIATED WITH MINIMALLY INVASIVE MICRO SCLEROSTOMY
Methods, systems, and compositions for maintaining functioning drainage blebs to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) of an eye being treated for glaucoma. The methods, systems, and compositions feature the combination of a minimally invasive micro sclerostomy (MIMS) procedure and the application of beta radiation to a target area. The beta radiation can function to inhibit or reduce the inflammation and/or fibrogenesis that typically occurs after a MIMS procedure and leads to hole and/or bleb failure. By reducing inflammation and/or fibrogenesis, the MIMS holes and/or blebs can remain functioning appropriately.
INTRAVASCULAR FILTER CUT FROM SHEET METAL
The present disclosure describes filter devices for deployment to body vessels where clots or emboli may need to be captured, particularly the vena cava. The filter device is of unitary construction, having been cut from a substantially planar sheet of a metal, in some instances a shape memory metal. The device has a construction including a plurality of petals, the petals containing an inner rib which curves in the deployed state. A method of making a filter device is also disclosed.
Radioactive stents
This disclosure provides design, material, manufacturing method, and use alternatives for medical devices. An example medical device includes a stent having a first strut. The first strut may include an inner surface and an outer surface. The medical device may also include a first attachment member coupled to the strut and a radioactive element. The radioactive element may be coupled to the attachment member.

MEDICAL DEVICES FOR USE ALONG THE BILIARY AND/OR PANCREATIC TRACT
Medical devices and method for making and using the same are disclosed. An example medical device may include implantable medical device for use along the biliary and/or pancreatic tract. The implantable medical device may include a tubular member having a first end configured to be disposed within the duodenum of a patient and a second end configured to be disposed adjacent to a pancreatic duct and/or bile duct. The tubular member may have a body including one or more wire filaments that are woven together. The tubular member may also have an outer surface with a longitudinal channel formed therein.
