Encapsulated fragrance in compressed tablet
A tablet having a deliquescent desiccant and a fragrance encapsulated on or within a binding agent. The tablet is in a pressed form. A method of making a tablet involves providing a deliquescent desiccant, encapsulating a fragrance by spray drying the fragrance on a carbohydrate, combining the deliquescent desiccant and the carbohydrate encapsulated fragrance, and pressing the combination into the tablet.
Porous ceramic structure for carbon dioxide capture
In one inventive concept, a product includes a three dimensional ceramic structure having an open cell structure with a plurality of pores, wherein the pores connect through the ceramic structure from one side of the ceramic structure to an opposite side of the ceramic structure.
SOLAR THERMAL UNIT
Solar thermal units and methods of operating solar thermal units for the conversion of solar insolation to thermal energy are provided. In some examples, solar thermal units have an inlet, and a split flow of heat absorbing fluid to either side of the solar thermal unit, along a first fluid flow path and a second fluid flow path. Optionally, one or more photovoltaic panels can be provided as part of the solar thermal unit, which may convert solar insolation to electric power that may be used by a system connected to the solar thermal unit.
REACTIVE SORBER APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GAS PURIFICATION
Reactive sorber is a flow sorption column for purification of gases at pressures till hundreds of bars by way of chemical capturing of impurities by metallic powder reactant (6). The powder is continuously rubbed in the process of mechanical stirring and is sorted with the help of a filtering divider (8) into two fractions, activated particles and exhausted material (12). The latter is removed into a waste collector (11, 13), which has a level meter calibrated in the units of purity of the gas exiting from the sorber.
Chemical warfare agents and related compounds as fuel for internal combustion engines
Technologies for combusting hazardous compounds such as chemical warfare agents and related compounds are disclosed. In embodiments, the technologies include systems and methods for combusting such compounds in an internal combustion engine, such as a spark ignition internal combustion engine, a diesel engine, or the like. The technologies described herein further include components for treating an exhaust gas stream produced by combustion of hazardous compounds. In embodiments such components include a scrubber that utilizes a scrubbing media such as soil to removing acid gases from the exhaust stream.
WATER VAPOR HARVESTING MATERIALS AND DEVICES
An atmospheric water harvesting material includes a deliquescent salt, a photothermal agent, and a polymeric hydrogel matrix containing the deliquescent salt and photothermal agent.
Fluid for carrying out pollution control in heat engines, and methods for preparing said fluids by producing a homogeneous solution
The present invention describes a fluid which is suitable for the decontamination of heat engines which can carry out both, at the same time, the catalytic reduction of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) contained in exhaust gases and assist in the regeneration of the particulate filter (PF). The invention also describes several embodiments of said fluid.
Air treatment systems and methods
An air treatment unit may include an air inlet to receive a flow of input air for treatment and a reaction reservoir configured to hold an aqueous air treatment solution. The air treatment unit may also include an air dispersing element flow connected with the air inlet, wherein the air dispersing element is configured to convert at least a portion of the flow of input air into a plurality of microbubbles for introduction into the aqueous air treatment solution, such that an amount of one or more target gas species contained within the plurality of microbubbles is reduced through reaction with the aqueous air treatment solution. The unit may include an air outlet configured to output treated air from the reaction reservoir.
Removal of moisture from hydrazine
The present invention generally relates to the field of gas and liquid phase desiccation. In particular, the present invention relates to methods for removing moisture (and hence oxygen precursors) from hydrazine, thereby providing a high purity source gas suitable for use in vapor deposition processes, such as but not limited to, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or an atomic layer deposition (ALD).
CARBON CAPTURE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Devices, systems and methods for capturing CO.sub.2 in a form that can be stored, processed, and/or converted to usable products is desirable. Systems capture CO.sub.2 using small scale, individual devices at a vast number of locations which, in the aggregate, are capable of significantly decreasing CO.sub.2 concentrations in the atmosphere on a global scale. When such small devices are placed in areas already occupied with a structure, i.e., office buildings, apartments, homes, automobiles and the like, though the amount of CO.sub.2 removal by each individual device may be relatively small, in the aggregate, significant amounts of CO.sub.2 may be removed at a more macro or even global scale.
