JOINT PROSTHESIS

A joint prosthesis comprises a first component and a second component being connected via a ball-and-socket-joint, wherein the first component comprises two outward spherical sections, at least one of the spherical sections having a projection; the ball-and-socket-joint comprises two gliding blocks each having an inward spherical section and at least one of the gliding blocks comprising a hole, the gliding blocks being attached to the second component, the outward spherical sections are in gliding engagement with the inward spherical sections of the gliding blocks so that the first component is movably attached to the second component; and the projection is inserted into one of the holes of the gliding blocks, so as to limit the mobility of the ball-and-socket-joint.

REPLACEMENT MEMBER FOR A JOINT REPLACEMENT

The disclosure relates to a replacement member for a shoulder joint replacement comprising an attachment face on one side of the member, a concave joint surface on a side of the replacement member opposite to the side of the attachment face, and a circumferential face connecting the attachment face and the joint surface. A portion of the concave joint surface is connected to at least a portion of the circumferential face via a chamfered or rounded edge.

CAGE FOR MINIMAL INVASIVE SURGERY

Disclosed is a cage for minimally invasive surgery, the cage including a main body part inserted into a space between a vertebra and an adjacent vertebra, and having lengthwise first and second end parts connected rotatably to each other, and a dilatation induction part provided in an inner space of the main body part, the dilatation induction part being configured to dilate a lengthwise middle part of the main body part by moving to a position at which the first and second end parts of the main body part are connected to each other.

Zero-profile interbody spacer and coupled plate assembly

An implant for insertion into the disc space between vertebrae. The implant including a spacer portion, a plate portion coupled to the spacer portion, a plurality of bone fixation elements for engaging the vertebrae and a retention mechanism for preventing the bone fixation elements from postoperatively uncoupling from the implant.

Apparatus for use at a heart valve

A system includes a core and a catheter for use with (A) a first atrial arm and a first ventricular arm articulatable with respect to each other at a first articulation site to clamp one leaflet of a patient's native heart valve, and (B) a second atrial arm and a second ventricular arm articulatable with respect to each other at a second articulation site to clamp another native leaflet of the native valve. The core tapers in a distal direction toward its smallest perimeter, defining a minimum nonzero angle of the atrial arms with respect to a central longitudinal axis of the core. The catheter advances the core and the arms toward the native valve. The catheter and the core have an advancement configuration in which the smallest perimeter of the core is adjacent to the first and second articulation sites. Other embodiments are also described.

Implant for heart valve

An implant includes a clip and a clip-controller interface. The clip is disposed laterally from a central longitudinal axis of the implant, includes first and second arms articulatably coupled to each other, and sandwiches a leaflet of a heart valve between the first and second arms by articulation between the first and second arms, such that the second arm is disposed laterally from the first arm. The clip-controller interface is reversibly coupled to a clip controller of a delivery tool, and includes first and second portions. The first portion is linearly slidable by the clip controller. The second portion is articulatably coupled to the first portion and to the second arm, such that linear sliding of the first portion causes the second portion to (i) articulate with respect to the first portion, and (ii) push the second arm to articulate toward the axis. Other embodiments are also described.

Expandable intervertebral implant

An expandable intervertebral implant is provided for insertion into an intervertebral space defined by adjacent vertebrae. The expandable intervertebral implant includes a pair of outer sleeve portions and an inner core disposed between the outer sleeve portions. Movement of the inner core relative to the outer sleeve portions causes the outers sleeve portions to deflect away from each other, thereby engaging the expandable intervertebral implant with the vertebrae and adjusting the height of the intervertebral space.

ENDOPROSTHETIC ROTATING HINGE KNEE ASSEMBLIES, SUBASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS

Assemblies, systems, kits, and methods related to an endoprosthetic rotating hinge assembly. The exemplary embodiments disclosed herein can comprise a preassembled rotating hinge subassembly having a hingedly rotating femur box configured to be mechanically engaged to a femoral component via a femur fastening mechanism, the femur fastening mechanism being non-axially aligned with a tibial axis of rotation when the knee is in flexion or extension.

A vascular prosthesis for implantation at an aortic arch of a human patient includes major tubular component defining a longitudinal axis and an island graft that has a length parallel to the longitudinal axis that is greater than a width transverse to the longitudinal axis. The vascular prosthesis delivery system includes a vascular prosthesis of the invention. The vascular prosthesis can also be a hybrid vascular prosthesis, including a proximal surgical segment that can be corrugated, an endovascular stent graft segment extending distally from the surgical segment, and a collar interposed between the surgical segment and the endovascular stent graft segment. The island graft can be pleated or corrugated and can be radially raised from a surface of the major tubular component.

Delivery of a prosthetic valve

Apparatus includes a delivery tool and a prosthetic valve, the prosthetic valve includes a first frame, and a second frame coupled to the first frame. The delivery tool includes a first catheter, a second catheter, and a rod. A steerable portion of the second catheter extends out of the first catheter, and a steerable distal portion of the rod extends out of the second catheter. An extracorporeal rod-controller is operably coupled to the rod such that operating the extracorporeal rod-controller steers the steerable distal portion of the rod. In a delivery state of the apparatus, the prosthetic valve is compressed onto the rod, distal to the distal end of the second catheter, and the apparatus is transfemorally and transseptally advanceable into a left atrium of a heart of a subject. Other embodiments are also described.
