The device may or may not include a container, such as a flexible pouch, encasing the aqueous saturated solution and/or an absorbent pad. The pouch or other container may be made of a material which is moisture permeable and liquid impermeable, for example, and the aqueous saturated solution further comprises a thickening agent. In some embodiments, the components of the aqueous saturated salt solution are separately contained in different compartments of the device container, and a user may activate the device to mix the components together.

Methods and systems to decarbonize natural gas using sulfur to produce hydrogen and polymers
Methods and systems to decarbonize natural gas using sulfur to produce hydrogen and polymers are provided. Sulfur can be introduced in elemental form or as hydrogen sulfide, as may be desired. Decarbonization of natural gas involves introducing natural gas and H.sub.2S to a first reactor to produce first reactor products including CS.sub.2 and H.sub.2. The CS.sub.2 can subsequently be polymerized and the H.sub.2 recovered in a purified form with little or no carbon emissions.
Process for biogas upgradation
The present invention relates to a biomimetic-hybrid solvent system for simultaneous capture of H.sub.2S and CO.sub.2 from any gaseous composition. The present invention also relates to a process for upgradation of biogas to bio CNG by removing gaseous contaminants, including microbial removal of H.sub.2S, to obtained purified CO.sub.2. The biomimetic-hybrid solvent system contains three components selected from tertiary amine compounds, a functional colloidal fluid, and an enzyme mimic.
PROCESS FOR HYDROTREATING A FEED STREAM COMPRISING A BIORENEWABLE FEEDSTOCK WITH TREATMENT OF AN OFF-GAS STREAM
A process for hydrotreating a feed stream comprising a biorenewable feedstock is disclosed. The process comprises hydrotreating the feed stream in the presence of a hydrotreating hydrogen stream and a hydrotreating catalyst to provide a hydrotreated stream. The hydrotreated stream is separated into a hydrotreated liquid stream and a hydrotreated gas stream. The hydrotreated liquid stream is subjected to stripping to provide a stripper off-gas stream. At least a portion of the stripper off-gas stream is contacted with a caustic stream to provide a sulfur-lean gas stream and a sulfur-rich caustic stream. The sulfur-rich caustic stream is further treated to provide a treated gas stream.
PROCESS FOR RECOVERING ACRYLIC ACID
The present invention relates to a process for recovering acrylic acid which is obtained by catalytic gas phase oxidation of propene, wherein, in an absorption stage (K2), the acrylic acid is absorbed from the reaction mixture (1) from the gas phase oxidation with a first solvent (3) and is drawn off for distillative purification, and a gas mixture from the absorption stage (K2) is passed onward to a condensation stage, wherein, in the condensation stage, the gas mixture is condensed, and a condensed phase of the gas mixture is drawn off as acid water (4) and is subjected to a phase separation operation in a phase separation vessel (B1), comprising the steps of a) feeding the aqueous phase (4*) of the acid water (4) drawn off from the condensation stage that has been obtained in the phase separation vessel (B1) to an extraction stage (K7) in which acrylic acid present in the acid water (4) is extracted with a second solvent (5), b) feeding the acrylic acid-comprising extract (6) to a stripping column (K8) in which the acrylic acid is removed from the second solvent (5) with cycle gas (8), wherein the second solvent (5) removed is fed back again after the acrylic acid has been stripped out in the extraction stage (K7), c) feeding the acrylic acid-laden cycle gas (9) to a stripping cycle gas scrubber (K5) in which the acrylic acid is removed from the cycle gas with the first solvent stream (10) fed to the stripping gas scrubber (K5) and transferred into the first solvent (3), and d) feeding a first portion of the acrylic acid-laden first solvent (3) back to the absorption stage (K2).
The present invention further relates to a corresponding plant for recovery of acrylic acid.
