Filter element
Filter element (1) for filtering a substance, in particular a hydrocarbon, out of a fluid flow, in particular out of a fuel container, with a substrate material (2) on which a sorbing, in particular adsorbing, surface is formed on at least one side, at least in part, wherein the filter element (1) includes multiple mutually-opposite layers of the substrate material (2), wherein the individual layers are arranged so as to be mutually spaced, and wherein the filter element (1) includes at least one spacer (6) that is provided between two layers in each case.
Gas treatment element and a method of forming a gas treatment element
A method of forming a gas treatment element for use in a gas treatment apparatus, such as a desiccant dryer, is disclosed. The element is formed by casting a sheet material by phase inversion of a dope mixture including a solvent, an adsorbent material such as a desiccant and a polymer binder. Layers of the sheet material are located adjacent one another and this is most readily achieved by rolling the sheet material to form the gas treatment element.
Materials for the direct capture of carbon dioxide from atmospheric air
The invention relates to a method to produce a particulate activated carbon material for capturing CO.sub.2 from air, wherein the particulate activated carbon is impregnated with alkali carbonate salt such as K.sub.2CO.sub.3; and wherein the impregnated particulate activated carbon either has, determined using nitrogen adsorption methods, a pore volume of at least 0.10 cm.sup.3/g for pore sizes of at least 5 nm and a pore volume of at most 0.30 cm.sup.3/g for pore sizes of less than 2 nm or is based on a mixture of different alkali carbonate salts, or has a particular pore surface for pore sizes in the range of 2 nm-50 nm.
Method and Homogeneous Filament Material 3D Printed Radial Flow Fluid Treatment System
A method of forming and fluid treatment system includes a vessel that is defined by a body having an inlet constructed to be connected to a fluid source and an outlet that is constructed to be connected to a discharge passage defined by a direction of a fluid flow directed through the body. The body is preferably three-dimensionally (3D) printed as a unitary body and from a filament material to define the entirety of the body including the inlet and the outlet. The vessel is preferably formed of an antimicrobial or other materials configured to manipulate the composition of the fluid flow directed therethrough and via direct contact of the fluid flow with the interior spaces of the body of the vessel.
CARBON NANOTUBE SHEET FOR AIR OR WATER PURIFICATION
The present disclosure provides a filter for removing contaminants from a liquid or gaseous medium including a woven or nonwoven sheet of entangled carbon nanotubes. The present disclosure also provides a method for reducing the concentration of contaminants in a liquid or gaseous medium by contacting the liquid or gaseous medium with the filter.
ENHANCED CAPTURE STRUCTURES FOR DIRECT AIR CAPTURE
An enhanced capture structure is disclosed, including a sorbent structure having a CO.sub.2 sorbent material. The capture structure also includes a plurality of barriers extending outward from the sorbent structure, each sized and positioned such that as an airflow passes along the sorbent structure, a high pressure region forms proximate the sorbent structure on a first side of the barrier facing into the airflow and a low pressure region forms proximate the sorbent structure on a second side of the barrier facing away from the airflow. The barriers on one side of the sorbent structure are staggered with respect to barriers on the other side such that a plurality of high and low pressure regions are formed, each high pressure region being formed opposite a low pressure region on the other side of the structure, creating a pressure differential that promotes CO.sub.2 mass transfer into the sorbent material via convection.
Adsorption based gas separation method
An adsorbent bed, including at least one elementary composite structure that includes adsorbent particles in a polymer matrix, wherein the adsorbent bed has a bed packing, ρ.sub.bed, defined as a volume occupied by the at least one elementary composite structure V.sub.ecs divided by a volume of the adsorbent bed V.sub.bed where ρ.sub.bed is greater than 0.60.
EVAPORATIVE FUEL VAPOR EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS
The present disclosure describes an evaporative emission control canister system that includes: one or more canisters comprising at least one vent-side particulate adsorbent volume comprising a particulate adsorbent having microscopic pores with a diameter of less than about 100 nm; macroscopic pores having a diameter of about 100 - 100,000 nm; and a ratio of a volume of the macroscopic pores to a volume of the microscopic pores that is greater than about 150%, and having a retentivity of about 1.0 g/dL or less. The system may further include a high butane working capacity adsorbent. The disclosure also describes a method for reducing emissions in an evaporative emission control system.
