LOW-PRESSURE DROP STRUCTURE OF PARTICLE ADSORBENT BED FOR ADSORPTION GAS SEPARATION PROCESS
A gas separation unit for the separation of carbon dioxide from air is proposed for use in a cyclic adsorption/desorption process and using a loose particulate sorbent material. Sorbent material is arranged in at least two stacked layers, and each layer comprises two sheets of a flexible fabric material which is gas permeable but impermeable to the loose sorbent material. The sheets are arranged parallel defining an inlet face and an outlet face, are arranged with a distance in the range of 0.5-2.5 cm, and are enclosing a cavity in which the sorbent material is located. Said layers are arranged in the unit such that the inflow passes through the inlet face, subsequently through the particular sorbent material located in the cavity of the respective layer, subsequently to exit the layer through the outlet face to form the gas outflow.
Dehumidification system
Provided is a dehumidification system including an air directing device and an adsorbent hollow fiber module. The air directing device is used for conveying air. The adsorbent hollow fiber module can adsorb the moisture in the air as the air passes through the adsorbent hollow fiber module. The adsorbent hollow fiber module includes at least one adsorbent hollow fiber. The adsorbent hollow fiber has a tubular body having a first end and a second end and a channel disposed in the tubular body and extending from the first end to the second end.
HYDROGEN SULFIDE ADSORBENT IN BIOGAS AND BIOGAS PURIFICATION SYSTEM USING THE SAME
Disclosed is an adsorbent containing a metal oxide for adsorption of hydrogen sulfide in biogas, and a biogas purification system using the same.
DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR PASSIVE COLLECTION OF ATMOSPHERIC CARBON DIOXIDE
A device for passive collection of atmospheric carbon dioxide is disclosed. The device includes a release chamber having an opening and a sorbent regeneration system. The device also includes a capture structure coupled to the release chamber, having at least one collapsible support and a plurality of tiles spaced along the collapsible support. Each tile has a sorbent material. The capture structure is movable between a collection configuration and a release configuration. The collection configuration includes the capture structure extending upward from the release chamber to expose the capture structure to an airflow and allow the sorbent material to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide. The release configuration includes the collapsible support being collapsed and the plurality of tiles being sufficiently enclosed inside the release chamber that the sorbent regeneration system may operate on the plurality of tiles to release captured carbon dioxide from the sorbent material and form an enriched gas.
Modified Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) Compositions, Process of Making and Process of Use Thereof
This invention relates to modified MOF materials, methods of preparing them and processes using them. A modified MOF of the invention is modified by impregnating a MOF with an inorganic metal salt. The starting MOF contains at least one linker or ligand which contains an aryl amino group as part of its structure. These modified MOFs are able to adsorb either basic or acidic toxic industrial compounds (TIC). The modified MOFs can be used to remove TICs from various gaseous streams such as air.
ENHANCED SORBENT MEMBRANE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE AND METHOD FOR SAME
A method for enhancing a sorbent membrane for carbon dioxide capture is disclosed. The method includes applying a layer of a hydrophobic material to at least one surface of the sorbent membrane. The hydrophobic material may be one of a polysioxane, a silicone compound, and a fluoroacrylic copolymer. The sorbent membrane may be an anionic exchange membrane, and may have a quaternary ammonium functional group. The layer of hydrophobic material reduces the amount of water used in the carbon dioxide capture process, and relaxes the water quality constraints.
EXHAUST GAS PROCESSING SYSTEM INCLUDING ADSORBENT FOR SUPPRESSING POWDER-LIKE BYPRODUCT
An exhaust gas processing system including a process chamber in which an exhaust gas is produced; an exhaust gas measurer receiving the exhaust gas and measuring a concentration of the exhaust gas; a solid producing gas processor receiving the exhaust gas and removing a solid producing gas contained in the exhaust gas; a gas supply supplying dilution and cooling gases to the solid producing gas processor; a processed gas measurer receiving, as a processed gas, the exhaust gas free of the solid producing gas and measuring a temperature of the processed gas and ingredients of the processed gas; and a controller receiving results of measurement of the concentration of the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas measurer and results of measurement of the temperature of the processed gas and the ingredients of the processed gas from the exhaust gas measurer and controlling the gas supply based on the measurement results.
METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PROCESSING A GAS MIXTURE
A method for processing a nitrogen-containing starting gas mixture by vacuum pressure swing adsorption, in which the starting gas mixture is temporarily guided under pressure in a main flow direction through an adsorption unit filled with an adsorbent material. The adsorbent material is provided, in a first region along the main flow direction, predominantly or exclusively in the form of first adsorption bodies; the adsorbent material is provided, in a second region along the main flow direction and downstream of the first region in the form of second adsorption bodies; that at least the second adsorption bodies are provided as composite bodies that have an inner core of a non-porous, non-adsorbent material and an outer layer formed from the adsorbent material; and that the second adsorption bodies have a lower proportion of the adsorbent material, in the body volume, than the first adsorption bodies.
