Zeolite catalyst containing metals
Provided is catalyst material useful for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx in lean burn exhaust gas, wherein the catalyst material is a hydrothermally stable, low SAR aluminosilicate zeolite loaded with a synergistic combination of one or more transition metals, such as copper, and one or more alkali or alkaline earth metals, such as calcium or potassium.
Methods for the treatment of a flue gas stream using catalytically-enhanced sorbent compositions
A sorbent composition that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream of a coal burning furnace to efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas stream. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with an associated ancillary catalyst component that is a catalytic metal, a precursor to a catalytic metal, a catalytic metal compound or a precursor to a catalytic metal compound. Alternatively, a catalytic metal or metal compound, or their precursors, may be admixed with the coal feedstock prior to or during combustion in the furnace, or may be independently injected into a flue gas stream. A catalytic promoter may also be used to enhance the performance of the catalytic metal or metal compound.

The invention relates to a diesel oxidation catalyst which has a support body with a length L extending between a first end face a and a second end face b and catalytically active material zones A, B, and C arranged on the support body, whereinmaterial zone A contains palladium or platinum and palladium in a weight ratio of Pt:Pd of 1 and an alkaline earth metal and extends over 20 to 80% of the length L starting from the end face a, material zone B contains ceroxide, is free of platinum, and extends over 20 to 80% of the length L starting from the end face b, material zone C contains platinum or platinum and palladium in a weight ratio of Pt:Pd of 5, and neither material zone A nor material zone C is arranged over material zone B.
Exhaust gas purification catalyst
An exhaust gas purification catalyst, characterized by having a catalyst layer containing palladium, rhodium, and alumina, which supports a sulfate of an alkaline-earth metal selected from barium sulfate and strontium sulfate, and the correlation coefficients .sub.Pd,AE and .sub.Rh,AE calculated from the characteristic X-ray intensity measured using an electron beam micro-analyzer for the palladium, rhodium, and alkaline-earth metal being +0.75 to +1.00 and 0.00 to +0.25, respectively, using 350 points as measurement points obtained by equally dividing the catalyst layer into 351 parts in the thickness direction on a virtual straight line that runs through the catalyst layer in the thickness direction.
PROMOTER METAL CONTAINING PEROVSKITE-TYPE COMPOUND FOR GASOLINE EXHAUST GAS APPLICATIONS
A three-way catalyst composition, and its use in an exhaust system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The composition can comprise a compound of formula (I): A.sub.x-yA.sub.yB.sub.1-zB.sub.zO.sub.3 and a promoter metal component, wherein A is an ion of a metal of group 2 or 3 of the periodic table of elements; wherein A is an ion of a metal of group 1, 2, or 3 of the periodic table of elements; wherein B and B are ions of metal of groups 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 13 of the periodic table of elements; wherein x is from 0.7 to 1; wherein y is from 0 to 0.5; and wherein z is from 0 to 0.5.

An exhaust system for a compression ignition engine comprising an oxidation catalyst for treating carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs) in exhaust gas from the compression ignition engine, wherein the oxidation catalyst comprises: a platinum group metal (PGM) component selected from the group consisting of a platinum (Pt) component, a palladium (Pd) component and a combination thereof; an alkaline earth metal component; a support material comprising a modified alumina incorporating a heteroatom component; and a substrate, wherein the platinum group metal (PGM) component, the alkaline earth metal component and the support material are disposed on the substrate.

The Invention relates to a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst composed of at least two catalytically-active washcoat layers on a support body, wherein a lower washcoat layer A comprises cerium oxide, an alkaline earth metal compound and/or an alkali compound, platinum and palladium, and manganese oxide, and an upper washcoat layer B disposed on the washcoat layer A comprises cerium oxide, platinum and palladium and does not contain any alkali and alkaline-earth compounds, and to a method for converting NO.sub.x in exhaust gases from motor vehicles which are operated with lean-burn engines.

The invention relates to a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst composed of at least two catalytically active washcoat layers on a support body, wherein a lower washcoat layer A comprises cerium oxide, an alkaline earth metal compound and/or an alkali compound, platinum and palladium, and an upper washcoat layer B located above washcoat layer A comprises cerium oxide, platinum and palladium, does not contain any alkali and alkaline-earth compounds, and has macropores. Also disclosed is a method for converting NOx in exhaust gases from motor vehicles operated with lean-burn engines.
