EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST COMPOSITION AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst composition and an exhaust gas purification catalyst, each of which includes a pyrochlore-type CeO.sub.2—ZrO.sub.2-based complex oxide having an improved oxygen storage capacity (particularly, an improved oxygen storage capacity after being exposed to a high temperature environment), and, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst composition and an exhaust gas purification catalyst, each of which contains a pyrochlore-type CeO.sub.2—ZrO.sub.2-based complex oxide that contains Y and Mg and thus exhibits an excellent oxygen storage capacity (particularly, an excellent oxygen storage capacity after being exposed to a high temperature environment).
PALLADIUM FIXING AND LOW FRESH OXYGEN STORAGE CAPACITY USING TANNIC ACID AS A COMPLEXING AND REDUCING AGENT
A method of manufacturing a catalyst article, the method comprising: providing a complex of a polyphenol and a PGM, the polyphenol comprising an ester functional group, the PGM comprising palladium; providing a support material; applying the complex to the support material to form a loaded support material; disposing the loaded support material on a substrate; and heating the loaded support material to form nanoparticles of the PGM on the support material.
TWC ACTIVITY USING RHODIUM/PLATINUM AND TANNIC ACID AS A COMPLEXING AND REDUCING AGENT
A method of manufacturing a catalyst article, the method comprising: providing a complex of a polyphenol and a PGM, the PGM comprising rhodium and/or platinum, the polyphenol comprising an ester functional group; providing a support material; applying the complex to the support material to form a loaded support material; disposing the loaded support material on a substrate; and heating the loaded support material to form nanoparticles of the PGM on the support material.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE
There is provided an exhaust gas purification device that shows a high HC removal performance under a condition in which a rich air-fuel mixture is introduced. The exhaust gas purification device includes a substrate, a first catalyst layer, and a second catalyst layer. The substrate includes an upstream end and a downstream end. The first catalyst layer is disposed on a surface of the partition wall in an upstream region including the upstream end of the substrate. The second catalyst layer is disposed inside the partition wall in a downstream region including the downstream end of the substrate. The first catalyst layer contains a first metal catalyst and alumina-zirconia composite oxide. The second catalyst layer contains a second metal catalyst.
Nuclear power plant
In view of above problems, an object of the invention is to provide a primary containment vessel venting system having a structure capable of continuously discharging vapor in a primary containment vessel out of the system and continuously reducing pressure of the primary containment vessel without discharging radioactive noble gases to the outside of the containment vessel and without using an enclosing vessel or a power source. In order to achieve the above object, an nuclear power plant of the invention includes a primary containment vessel which includes a reactor pressure vessel, a radioactive substance separation apparatus which is disposed inside the primary containment vessel and through which the radioactive noble gases do not permeate but vapor permeates, a vent pipe which is connected to the radioactive substance separation apparatus, and an exhaust tower which is connected to the vent pipe and discharges a gas, from which a radioactive substance is removed, to the outside.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE
The exhaust gas purification device includes a substrate, a first catalyst layer, and a second catalyst layer. The substrate includes an upstream end, a downstream end, and a porous partition wall defining a plurality of cells extending between the upstream end and the downstream end. The plurality of cells include an inlet cell opening at the upstream end and sealed at the downstream end, and an outlet cell adjacent to the inlet cell sealed at the upstream end and opening at the downstream end. The first catalyst layer is disposed on a surface of the partition wall in an upstream region. In a downstream region, the second catalyst layer is disposed inside the partition wall, and a second catalyst-containing wall including the partition wall and the second catalyst layer has a porosity of 35% or more.
CE-ZR COMPOSITE OXIDE, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF SAME, AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST USING SAME
An object of the present invention is to provide means for releasing oxygen at a temperature lower than conventional means in an exhaust gas purification catalyst. A Ce—Zr composite oxide is provided, which has a crystallite diameter of 6.5 nm or less and a BET specific surface area of 90 m.sup.2/g or more.
Mixed cerium- and zirconium-based oxide
The present invention relates to a mixed oxide of aluminium, of zirconium, of cerium, of lanthanum and optionally of at least one rare-earth metal other than cerium and lanthanum that makes it possible to prepare a catalyst that retains, after severe ageing, a good thermal stability and a good catalytic activity. The invention also relates to the process for preparing this mixed oxide and also to a process for treating exhaust gases from internal combustion engines using a catalyst prepared from this mixed oxide.
Catalyst for automotive emissions control
An automotive catalytic converter includes a three-way catalyst having Rh as the only precious metal configured as a front zone and a three-way catalyst having a mixture of Rh and Pd, Pt, or both configured as a rear zone, such that an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine passes through the front zone before passing through the rear zone to minimize sulfur poisoning of the catalytic converter.
COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING ZIRCONIUM AND CERIUM AND METHODS FOR PREPARING SAME USING OXALIC ACID AND SUPERCRITICAL DRYING
Disclosed herein are compositions containing zirconium and cerium having a surprisingly small particle size. The compositions disclosed herein contain zirconium, cerium, optionally yttrium, and optionally one or more other rare earth oxides other than cerium and yttrium. The compositions exhibit a particle size characterized by a D.sub.90 value of about 5 μm to about 30 μm and a D.sub.99 value of about 5 um to about 40 um. Further disclosed are processes of producing these compositions using oxalic acid and supercritical drying in the process. The compositions can be used as a catalyst and/or part of a catalytic system. The composition is prepared by co-precipitation using oxalic acid and supercritical drying.
