Method and systems for the delivery of oxygen enriched gas
Described herein are various embodiments of an oxygen concentrator system and method of delivering oxygen enriched gas to a user. In some embodiments, oxygen concentrator system includes one or more components that improve the efficiency of oxygen enriched gas delivery during operation of the oxygen concentrator system.
Electro oxidation membrane evaporator
Electro oxidation membrane evaporator 1 comprises sweep air handler 60; fluid tank 20 defining a fluid container; fluid contactor/separator 30; oxidation cell 40; and scrubber 80. Electro oxidation membrane evaporator 1 may allow higher percent water recovery from wastewater prior to delivering brine to a brine water recovery system and can allow O.sub.2 from air such as cabin air to continuously diffuse into the wastewater as O.sub.2 is consumed to generate oxidants, helping to eliminate the low oxidant environment at the end of the cycle that causes pH to remain high, and low pH prevents precipitates from forming for longer so more water can be evaporated from the wastewater.
METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PROCESSING A GAS MIXTURE
A method for processing a nitrogen-containing starting gas mixture by vacuum pressure swing adsorption, in which the starting gas mixture is temporarily guided under pressure in a main flow direction through an adsorption unit filled with an adsorbent material. The adsorbent material is provided, in a first region along the main flow direction, predominantly or exclusively in the form of first adsorption bodies; the adsorbent material is provided, in a second region along the main flow direction and downstream of the first region in the form of second adsorption bodies; that at least the second adsorption bodies are provided as composite bodies that have an inner core of a non-porous, non-adsorbent material and an outer layer formed from the adsorbent material; and that the second adsorption bodies have a lower proportion of the adsorbent material, in the body volume, than the first adsorption bodies.
A PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HYDROGEN AND CARBON DIOXIDE
A pressure swing adsorption process (PSA) comprising the following steps: feeding an input gas containing H.sub.2, CO.sub.2 and impurities through a CO.sub.2 adsorbent material in a pressure vessel under a high pressure; withdrawing a first H.sub.2-rich product gas due to adsorption of CO.sub.2 in the adsorbent material; setting the pressure to an intermediate pressure causing the adsorbent material release a second gas stream; passing a CO.sub.2-rich purge stream through the adsorbent material, obtaining a purge gas; setting the pressure to a sub-atmospheric low pressure, so that a CO.sub.2-rich product gas is released under vacuum by the adsorbent material; re-pressurizing the vessel to said high pressure; said steps being performed cyclically in a pressure vessel or in a plurality of parallel pressure vessels of a multiple vessel setup.
Calcination Process
A process comprising the following steps: a) calcination of a metal carbonate by combustion of a fuel in the presence of a mixture of oxygen, water vapour and carbon dioxide, to generate a metal oxide, water vapour, carbon dioxide and heat; b) using the heat generated to drive an oxygen generation reaction; and c) use of the oxygen generated in step b) in calcination step a). The use of the process on carbon dioxide sequestration and/or in oxygen generation.
OXYGEN ENHANCEMENT OF A ROOM AND HVAC SYSTEM FOR SAME
An HVAC system having a fan coil and an oxygen concentrator.
HIGH SELECTIVITY POLYIMIDE/PES BLEND HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FOR GAS SEPARATIONS
A low cost, high selectivity asymmetric polyimide/polyethersulfone (PES) blend hollow fiber membrane, a method of making the membrane and its use for a variety of liquid, gas, and vapor separations such as deep desulfurization of gasoline and diesel fuels, ethanol/water separations, pervaporation dehydration of aqueous/organic mixtures, CO.sub.2/CH.sub.4, CO.sub.2/N.sub.2, H.sub.2/CH.sub.4, He/CH.sub.4, O.sub.2/N.sub.2, H.sub.2S/CH.sub.4, olefin/paraffin, iso/normal paraffins separations, and other light gas mixture separations. The polyimide/PES blend hollow fiber membrane is fabricated from a blend of a polyimide polymer and PES and showed surprisingly unique gas separation property with higher selectivities than either the polyimide hollow fiber membrane without PES polymer or the PES hollow fiber membrane without PES polymer for gas separations such as for H.sub.2/CH.sub.4, He/CH.sub.4, H.sub.2S/CH.sub.4, CO.sub.2/CH.sub.4 separations.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND OPERATING METHOD OF SAME
The invention relates to an internal combustion engine that comprises a first Brayton cycle comprising a mixed ionic-electronic conducting (MIEC) membrane that separates the O.sub.2 from the air such that the suctioned air current is free from N.sub.2; a second Brayton cycle combined in a binary manner with the first Brayton cycle and nested with a cycle selected from an Otto cycle and a diesel cycle performed by means of oxy-combustion. The second Brayton cycle transmits mechanical energy and thermal energy from exhaust gases to the first Brayton cycle. The first Brayton cycle provides to the second Brayton cycle compressed O.sub.2 from the MIEC membrane. By means of the present engine, the NOx emission into the atmosphere is prevented by the separation of N.sub.2 in the MIEC membrane.
METAL OXIDE, OXYGEN ADSORPTION AND DESORPTION DEVICE, OXYGEN CONCENTRATING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING METAL OXIDE
Provided is a metal oxide containing a brownmillerite-type manganese oxide represented by (Ca.sub.2-xA.sub.x)(Mn.sub.yAl.sub.zE.sub.2-y-z).sub.wO.sub.5+δ (in the formula, A represents one or more alkaline earth metal elements other than Ca; E represents one or more 3d transition metal elements or earth metal elements other than Mn and Al; and x, y, z, δ, and w satisfy 0≤x≤2, 0<y≤2, 0≤z<2, 0<y+z≤2, 0≤δ≤0.5, and 0.8≤w≤1.2), wherein the metal oxide has a defect in a (020) plane of a crystal of the brownmillerite-type manganese oxide.
