Accommodating intraocular lens providing progressive power change

An accommodating intraocular lens for providing a range of accommodative vision includes a deformable optic. The deformable optic includes a plurality of layers that have a progressively increasing hardness and/or refractive index characteristic from the outermost layer to the innermost layer to provide a range of accommodative power.

BREAST IMPLANT COMPRISING SILICONE GELS OF VARIOUS PROPERTIES

One embodiment of the present invention provides a breast implant comprising: a filler material comprising two or more types of silicone gel, having different cohesive strengths; and a silicone shell housing the filler material.

LOW PROFILE NON-SYMMETRICAL STENT

Various stents and stent-graft systems for treatment of medical conditions are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary stent-graft system may be used for endovascular treatment of a thoracic aortic aneurysm. The stent-graft system may comprise proximal and distal components, each comprising a graft having proximal and distal ends, where upon deployment the proximal and distal components at least partially overlap with one another to provide a fluid passageway therebetween. The proximal component may comprise a proximal stent having a plurality of proximal and distal apices connected by a plurality of generally straight portions, where a radius of curvature of at least one of the proximal apices may be greater than the radius of curvature of at least one of the distal apices. The distal component may comprise a proximal z-stent coupled to the graft, where the proximal end of the graft comprises at least scallop formed therein that generally follows the shape of the proximal z-stent. Further, the distal component may comprise at least one z-stent stent coupled to the distal end of the graft and extending distally therefrom that reduces proximal migration of the distal component.

Stent pusher assembly

Provided is a stent pusher assembly for positioning a ureteral stent, the stent pusher assembly having an inner and outer stent pusher. The stent pusher assembly positions the ureteral stent in a patient's kidney and bladder without a bladder fixing portion of the stent entering a ureteral passage-way, thereby minimizing irritation to the patient.

SACROCOLPOPEXY SUPPORT

A sacrocolpopexy support has a head section extending from a first end portion to a second end portion, and a leg section having a first leg portion placed on and in longitudinal alignment with a second leg portion. A first connector secures the leg section to the second end portion of the head section. A second connector secures the first leg portion to the second leg portion to form a closed joint that defines a space between the first leg portion and the second leg portion. An end of the second end portion of the head section terminates at a location exterior to the closed joint outside of the space between the first leg portion and the second leg portion.

SELECTIVE ADHERENCE OF STENT-GRAFT COVERINGS

An endoluminal prosthesis including a radially expandable support member having interior and exterior surfaces and a wall with openings, a first covering member including a biocompatible polymer material at least partially positioned against the interior surface, and a second covering member including a biocompatible polymer material at least partially positioned against the exterior surface. The first covering member attaches to the second covering member at predetermined bonding locations within less than all of the openings thereby leaving unbonded regions.

Low profile non-symmetrical stent

CRAFTING OF CARTILAGE

A shaped cartilage matrix isolated from a human or animal where the cartilage has been crafted to facilitate disinfection, cleaning, devitalization, recellularization, and/or integration after implantation. Also, a process for repairing a cartilage defect with the cartilage matrix. The matrix is in the form of an osteochondral plug including a cartilage cap ad subchondral bone, wherein one or more gaps, slats, bores, or channels extend through the tidemark at the interface between the cartilage cap and the subchondral bone.
