Layered or mixed sorbent bed protective filtration device
A filtration device including a fluid-impermeable housing having a gas inlet and outlet, and containing within the housing first filter media particles of an extended surface area substrate and containing at least one metal impregnant, and second filter media particles of an extended surface area zirconium hydroxide substrate. The device may be used in atmospheres containing various harmful gases, and may provide particularly useful improvements in NO.sub.x breakthrough times compared to a device containing only the first filter media particles or only the second filter media particles.
Catalyst for hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide and hydrogen cyanide and use of titanium dioxide-based composition
Provided are a catalyst for hydrolysis and use of a titanium dioxide-based composition which are capable of removing COS and HCN simultaneously at high degradation percentages. The catalyst for hydrolysis is a catalyst for hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide and hydrogen cyanide, having at least: an active component containing, as a main component, at least one metal selected from the group consisting of barium, nickel, ruthenium, cobalt, and molybdenum; and a titanium dioxide-based support supporting the active component.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING HIGH CONCENTRATION ACID GAS FROM NATURAL GAS
A multi-stage process for recovering acid gas from natural gas having high acid gas contents utilizes two or more membrane absorption contactors arranged in series. The first membrane absorption contactor uses a physical solvent to remove a high volume of acid gas transferred across a membrane, and to reduce the acid gas content in the natural gas to a lower level that can be managed using chemical solvents. The second and, if needed, subsequent membrane absorption contactors can use a chemical solvent to remove acid gas transferred across the respective membranes and reduce the acid gas content in the natural gas to very low levels, if needed, depending on product specifications.
PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR REMOVING IMPURITIES FROM A GAS STREAM
A process and system for producing a fermentable gas stream from a gas source that contains one or more impurity which may be harmful to the fermentation process is provided. To produce the fermentable gas stream, the gas stream is passed through a specifically ordered series of removal beds. The removal beds remove and/or convert various impurities found in the gas stream which may have harmful effects on downstream removal beds and/or inhibitory effects on downstream gas fermenting microorganisms. At least a portion of the fermentable gas stream may be capable of being passed to a bioreactor, which contains gas fermenting microorganisms.
Dry chemical scrubber with pH adjustment
Implementations disclosed herein provide a dry chemical scrubber with a pH regulator that adjusts an internal pH value of the dry chemical scrubber by adding high pH elements to the contents of the dry chemical scrubber on a continuous or periodic basis.

Metal organic frameworks for the catalytic detoxification of chemical warfare nerve agents
A method of using a metal organic framework (MOF) comprising a metal ion and an at least bidendate organic ligand to catalytically detoxify chemical warfare nerve agents including exposing the metal-organic-framework (MOF) to the chemical warfare nerve agent and catalytically decomposing the nerve agent with the MOF.
Hydrolysis reaction device for dechlorination and decyanation of blast furnace gas
Provided is a hydrolysis reaction device for dechlorination and decyanation of blast furnace gas, including a tower body, where a top of the tower body is provided with an air inlet channel, and a bottom of the tower body is provided with an air outlet channel, and functional zones are arranged in the tower body. The functional zones are sequentially an air inlet zone, a first protective agent zone, a first transition zone, a second protective agent zone, a second transition zone, a hydrolysis zone and an air outlet zone along a gas direction, and adjacent functional zones are communicated. Feed holes and discharge holes are uniformly arranged on an outer side surface of the tower body. Gas in a tower radially passes through the protective agent zones and the hydrolysis zone.
Catalytic system and method for the removal of HCN from off-gases of a fluid cracking unit using same, and FCC unit assembly including the catalytic system
Systems and methods directed at removing HCN from an FCC process flue gas (and/or generated in the catalyst system reactions themselves) such that the final HCN output is satisfactory; while, in so doing, avoiding undesirable levels of other pollutants contained in that exhaust gas such as NOx. A system includes an assembly having a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit generating a flue gas with HCN and NOx and a catalyst device placed in the flue gas line to remove HCN and NOx. The catalyst device having one or more SCR catalytic articles, as in one free of platinum group metal material (PGM) or a dual functioning SCR catalyst with PGM, or a combination of each. The assembly can be provided with an ammonia supplier and optionally an H2O supplier with associated injection for supply into the flue gas upstream of a catalytic article(s).
