Particulate Filter
A particulate filter disclosed herein includes a wall-flow structure substrate 10 and a wash coat layer 20 held inside a partition 16 of the substrate 10. The wash coat layer 20 includes an inlet layer 22 formed to have predetermined length L.sub.A and thickness T.sub.A from near an end thereof on an exhaust gas inflow side X1, and an outlet layer 24 formed to have predetermined length L.sub.B and thickness T.sub.B from near an end thereof on an exhaust gas outflow side X2. The inlet layer 22 and the outlet layer 24 partially overlap each other. In the particulate filter disclosed herein, the inlet layer 22 contains a precious metal catalyst, while the outlet layer 24 contains substantially no precious metal catalyst. The length L.sub.A of the inlet layer is 50% or more and 75% or less of a total length L of the partition 16. Thus, the particulate filter is capable of achieving both PM collection performance and pressure-drop reduction performance at high levels.

Exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine
An exhaust gas purification system for a gasoline engine is described the system comprising in consecutive order the following devices: •a first three-way-catalyst (TWC1), a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and a second three-way-catalyst (TWC2), •wherein the oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of the GPF is greater than the OSC of the TWC1, wherein the OSC is determined in mg/l of the volume of the device.
CATALYSTS FOR GASOLINE EXHAUST GAS TREATMENTS WITH IMPROVED AMMONIA EMISSION CONTROL
A three-way catalyst article with improved ammonia emission control, and its use in an exhaust system for gasoline engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas from a gasoline engine comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; a first catalytic region beginning at the inlet end, wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first zeolite; and a second catalytic region beginning at the outlet end, wherein the second catalytic region comprises a second platinum group metal (PGM) component, a second oxygen storage capacity (OSC) material, and a second inorganic oxide; wherein the second PGM component is selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, rhodium and a combination thereof.
Layered TWC
The present invention relates to a three-way catalyst (TWC) for treatment of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines operated with a predominantly stoichiometric air/fuel ratio, so called spark ignited engines.
AMMONIA ADSORPTION CATALYST AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
An ammonia adsorption catalyst and a preparation method and a use thereof, where the ammonia adsorption catalyst includes a substrate and an adsorption layer located on the surface of the substrate, and the adsorption layer includes a noble metal-containing zeolite adsorption material. The catalyst has the advantages of high ammonia adsorption/conversion efficiency, low cost, and flexible application, etc.
Method for manufacturing catalyst and catalyst
A method for manufacturing a catalyst includes depositing a catalyst slurry containing at least a catalyst metal and water on a support, depositing particles of a water-absorbing polymer on a surface of the catalyst slurry, expanding the particles to a predetermined size with the water present in the catalyst slurry, and firing the support having the catalyst slurry and the particles deposited on the catalyst slurry.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR NATURALLY ASPIRATED GASOLINE ENGINE
This disclosure is intended to suppress a noble metal supported by a three-way catalyst from being deteriorated by oxidation with the execution of fuel cut processing in a suitable manner. A control apparatus for a naturally aspirated gasoline engine is provided with a three-way catalyst, a first throttle valve, a second throttle valve arranged in the intake passage at the downstream side of the first throttle valve, an EGR valve, and a controller. When the controller carries out fuel cut processing and the temperature of the three-way catalyst is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature, the controller introduces the EGR gas into a cylinder of the gasoline engine as intake air by fully closing the first throttle valve and by opening the EGR valve, and further controls an amount of the EGR gas by adjusting the degree of opening of the second throttle valve.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING CATALYST
The object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst that can achieve high purification performance while suppressing H.sub.2S emissions. The object is solved by an exhaust gas purifying catalyst in which the top layer of a catalyst coating layer comprises a ceria-zirconia composite oxide having a pyrochlore-type ordered array structure, in which the ceria-zirconia composite oxide contains at least one additional element selected from the group consisting of praseodymium, lanthanum, and yttrium at 0.5 to 5.0 mol % in relation to the total cation amount, and the molar ratio of (cerium+additional element):(zirconium) is within the range from 43:57 to 48:52.
