Offshore Carbon Capture and Injection Method and System
A system for offshore, direct carbon dioxide sequestration includes an offshore marine platform fixed to the ocean floor above an offshore, subsea storage reservoir. A carbon dioxide floating storage unit moored adjacent the marine platform gathers and stores carbon dioxide delivered in discreet amounts from carbon dioxide sources. Carbon dioxide sources may include carbon dioxide delivery vessels and a carbon dioxide capture system mounted on the marine platform. Once a desired volume of carbon dioxide has been gathered in the carbon dioxide floating storage unit, compressors in fluid communication with the carbon dioxide floating storage unit may be utilized to increase the pressure of the gathered carbon dioxide to a desired injection pressure, after which the pressurized carbon dioxide is pumped directly from the fixed marine platform into the subsea storage reservoir.
Methods of preparing metal/metal oxide materials from nanostructured substrates and uses thereof
A method of preparing a metal/metal oxide material can make use of a nanostructure that includes a first metal to form the metal oxide, and a reaction surface with a reducing agent on the reaction surface. A second metal is deposited onto the reaction surface to form a bimetallic product. The bimetallic product is calcined to form the metal/metal oxide material.
COMBUSTION DEVICE AND GAS TURBINE ENGINE SYSTEM
A combustion device burns fuel ammonia in a combustion chamber using compressed combustion air, and includes a combustion air cooling unit which is configured to cool the combustion air by heat exchange with the fuel ammonia during or before a compression process.
LAYERED ADSORBENT BED FOR REMOVAL OF CARBON DIOXIDE AND HEAVY HYDROCARBONS
A process for treating a natural gas stream comprising sending said gas stream through at least one multi-layered adsorbent bed comprising at least one layer of an adsorbent preferentially adsorbing C8+ hydrocarbons and aromatics over other impurities, at least one layer of a zeolite preferentially adsorbing carbon dioxide over other impurities and at least one layer of a zeolite preferentially removing C7 hydrocarbons over other impurities to produce a gas stream comprising methane.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
An exhaust gas purification catalyst provides excellent removal performance of methane, which is chemically stable. Exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a substrate that divides cells through which an exhaust gas flows and a catalyst layer that is provided on a surface of the substrate. The catalyst layer includes a palladium layer containing palladium that extends from a first end part which is an end part on the side into which an exhaust gas in the cells flows to a second end part which is an end part on the side from which an exhaust gas flows out, a platinum layer containing platinum that extends from the second end part to the first end part, and a rhodium layer containing rhodium that is laminated with both the palladium layer and the platinum layer.
Catalyst article for exhaust system of natural gas engine
The present invention relates to a catalyst article for the exhaust system of a natural gas engine with improved sulphur and/or water tolerance. The catalyst article comprises a doped palladium-on-alumina catalyst, wherein the palladium-on-alumina catalyst is doped with manganese and/or zinc. The invention further relates to an exhaust gas treatment system, a natural gas combustion engine and to a method for the treatment of an exhaust gas from a natural gas combustion engine.
CONVERSION OF CARBON DIOXIDE FROM VEHICLE EXHAUST TO LIQUID FUELS AND FUEL ADDITIVES
Embodiments of a system for on-site conversion of carbon dioxide from vehicle exhaust to liquid fuels and fuel additives comprise a carbon dioxide collection system, an external power source, an electrolyzer, and a carbon dioxide conversion system. The carbon dioxide collection system interfaces with a mobile carbon dioxide capture system onboard a vehicle to transfer CO.sub.2 captured from vehicle exhaust to a vessel in the carbon dioxide collection system. The external power source provides the energy required for operation of the carbon dioxide conversion system and the electrolyzer. The electrolyzer separates a water feed into hydrogen and oxygen to generate a hydrogen feed and an oxygen feed. The carbon dioxide conversion system converts the CO.sub.2 collected from the exhaust of the vehicles and delivered to the carbon dioxide collection system and the hydrogen feed from the electrolyzer into useful liquid fuels and fuel additives through electrochemical reduction.
Method and composition
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a catalyst article comprising steps: (a) preparing a washcoat composition by combining at least the following components: a support material comprising a mixed oxide, a mixture of oxides or a molecular sieve comprising (i) alumina and (ii) silica and/or zirconia; a metal oxide sol comprising at least one of titania, silica or zirconia; a liquid medium; (b) applying the washcoat composition to a substrate to form a washcoating; and (c) drying and/or calcining the washcoating; wherein the method further comprises a step of impregnating the support material with a platinum group metal component. The prepared catalyst article may be suitable for the treatment of emissions from an internal combustion engine or a gas turbine, for example, the treatment of carbon monoxide and/or formaldehyde emissions from a natural gas fueled internal combustion engine or gas turbine.
Method for preparing noble metal catalyst
The present invention discloses a method for preparing a catalyst, comprising the following steps: (1) taking a noble metal salt solution A, adding a modified alumina support material, stirring until uniform and standing; (2) drying the material obtained in step (1) in a vacuum, and calcining at 500 C.-600 C. for 1-4 hours to obtain a powder material containing the noble metal; (3) mixing the noble metal powder material, an adhesive and other components to be added, and ball-milling to obtain a uniform slurry; (4) preparing a noble metal solution B and adjusting pH to 0.5-1; and (5) mixing the slurry of the step (3) with the noble metal solution B, coating the mixture on a support, drying, and calcining at 500 C.-600 C. for 1-2 hours to obtain the target product. The method for preparing the catalyst of the present invention is simple, the conditions of the preparation process are easy to control and the preparation method has strong practicality. The prepared catalyst has a good quality, a low ignition temperature and a high catalytic conversion rate for methane at a relatively low temperature.
