A preferred compound of the formula (I) is 2-(2-tert-butylaminoethoxy)ethylamine. Absorbents comprising a compound of the formula (I) have rapid absorption of carbon dioxide from fluid streams and are also suitable for processes for the simultaneous removal of H.sub.2S and CO.sub.2, where given H.sub.2S limits have to be observed but complete removal of CO.sub.2 is not required.
Granule reactor for treating polluting agents present in particulate-containing industrial gases, treatment apparatus comprising said reactor and method of treatment implemented by said apparatus
A granule reactor (10), an apparatus comprising said reactor and a method implemented by said apparatus are described for treating polluting agents present in industrial gases, particularly but not only, when such gases comprise NO.sub.x, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons and similar pollutants. The pellet reactor is adapted to be used in the treatment of industrial gases, capable of treating industrial gases and removing particulate from said gases while maintaining a constant efficiency. Moreover, a method of treating the polluting agents present in industrial gases by means of said pellet reactor, and a pellet reactor adapted to implement said method of treatment are described.
PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR THE PURIFICATION OF WASTE GAS
For the purification of waste gas containing carbon compounds and nitrogen oxides by means of a regenerative post-combustion system, at least two regenerators (A, B, C) filled with heat accumulator bodies (7a, 7b, 7c) and connected by a combustion chamber (10) are provided, wherein the waste gas is alternately heated in a regenerator (A, B, C), the carbon compounds are oxidised in the combustion chamber (10), and, with the addition of a nitrogen-hydrogen compound, the nitrogen oxides are reduced in the combustion chamber (10) thermally and thus not catalytically. Remaining nitrogen oxides are removed by means of a catalytically active heat accumulator layer (6a, 6b, 6c) and the addition of a further nitrogen-hydrogen compound in the regenerator (A, B, C) from which the clean gas exits.

SEAWATER ELECTROLYSIS ENABLES SCALABLE ATMOSPHERIC CO2 MINERALIZATION
Disclosed herein are methods of capturing CO2 from a gas source using electrochemically-enhanced amine capture to form a concentrated CO.sub.2 vapor, followed by sequestering CO.sub.2 from the concentrated vapor in a sequestration step. The sequestration step includes contacting the concentrated vapor with an aqueous sequestration solution comprising ions capable of forming an insoluble carbonate salt, such that the aqueous sequestration solution comprises the CO.sub.2, electrochemically basifying the sequestration solution, thereby precipitating a carbonate solid, separating the carbonate solids from the aqueous sequestration solution or the surface of the mesh.
