Method for Binding Hazardous Ammonia in Both Liquid and Gaseous States from Organic Waste Streams Using Carbon Dioxide at Ambient Temperature and under Ambient Pressure
A method for binding hazardous ammonia in both liquid or gaseous states from organic waste streams using carbon dioxide at ambient temperature and under ambient pressure to reduce ammonia emissions from farming or industrial operations. The method entraps a quantity of ammonia in an ammonia solution by reacting the quantity of ammonia with a quantity of carbon dioxide within a primary reaction vessel to form an ammonia-bound solution at ambient temperature and under ambient pressure. The ammonia-bound solution is able to be stored or transported for use in future chemical processes.

A method for removing methane and non-methane volatile organic compound concentrations from a gas stream. The method includes exposing the target gas to a halogen gas and a light from a suitable light source having a wavelength sufficient to activate halogen gas to halogen radicals, wherein the halogen radicals react with the VOC in the target gas to provide the target gas with a removed concentration of VOC as well as a device including a reaction chamber for reacting the halogen radicals with the VOC in the target gas.
System for removing ammonia, dust and pathogens from air within an animal rearing/sheltering facility
An air purification and recirculation system positioned within an animal rearing/sheltering facility. The system draws untreated air into an elongated air treatment apparatus having a dust scrubbing section, an ammonia scrubbing section, and acid scrubbing section, configured so that the treatment sections are positioned in series. At the end of the air treatment process, the treated air is exhausted back into the animal rearing facility so that the air is circulated within the facility. Acid and water used during the air treatment process are continuously recycled and directed back through the scrubbers in the air treatment apparatus.
