Hydrophobic Alkyl-Ester Physical Solvents for CO2 Removal from H2 Produced from Synthesis Gas

One or more embodiments relate to a method for removing CO.sub.2 from a gaseous stream containing CO.sub.2 having the steps of contacting the gaseous stream containing CO.sub.2 with a solvent at a first temperature and a first pressure to dissolve said CO.sub.2 in said solvent, where the solvent is made up of at least one ester, and where said at least one ester has two or more alkyl-ester functional groups on a central hydrocarbon chain.

System and method for integrated absorber intercooling via rich solvent stream using 3D-printed active packings

The present disclosure relates to an absorber column apparatus for removing a selected component of a gas. The apparatus may have a first zone, a second zone and a third zone, wherein the first and third zones form a first domain through which a first fluid laden with a select gaseous component to be removed therefrom flows along concurrently with a second fluid. The second fluid at least substantially removes the select gaseous component from the first fluid to create a third fluid. The first fluid leaves the absorber column as a fourth fluid with the select gaseous component at least substantially removed therefrom. The second zone forms an active packing zone including a structure which forms an independent second domain in thermal communication with the first domain. The second receives a quantity of the third fluid and channels it through the second zone to help cool at least one of the first and second fluids.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL COMPOSITION OF MATTER FOR RAPID REMOVAL OF MERCURY FROM A FLUE GAS

A multi-functional composition of matter that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream to rapidly and efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas stream. The multi-functional composition of matter may include a fixed carbon sorbent and minerals, halogens in the form of halide salts, as well as other physical and chemical properties to enhance (1) the oxidation reaction kinetics for the oxidation of mercury species and (2) the mass diffusion kinetics of the mercury species.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING NITROSO COMPOUND

A method for decomposing a nitroso compound, comprising: adding an aqueous solution containing hydrogen halide to a liquid to be treated that contains the nitroso compound in such a manner that the hydrogen halide is present in an amount of 2 mol or more and 20 mol or less per mol of a nitroso group in the nitroso compound; and subsequently heating the resulting liquid to be treated at a temperature of not lower that 75° C. and not higher than a boiling point of water under ordinary pressure, thereby an amines are recovered.

CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURING SYSTEM AND EXHAUST GAS PROCESSING METHOD

In one embodiment, a carbon dioxide capturing system includes an absorber configured to include a first contact portion that brings a combustion exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide into contact with an absorbing liquid containing an amine compound, cause the absorbing liquid to absorb at least a portion of the carbon dioxide in the combustion exhaust gas at the first contact portion, and release the combustion exhaust gas. The system further includes a washing apparatus configured to include a second contact portion that brings the combustion exhaust gas released from the first contact portion of the absorber into contact with a washing liquid, and configured such that the combustion exhaust gas and the washing liquid are individually fed to an upstream side of the second contact portion.

ACID-GAS CAPTURING APPARATUS AND ACID GAS CAPTURING METHOD

An acid-gas capturing apparatus according to an embodiment includes an absorption unit configured to discharge an absorption-unit exhaust gas, and a regeneration unit configured to discharge a regeneration unit exhaust gas. The regeneration unit exhaust gas is compressed in a compression unit. The absorption-unit exhaust gas or the regeneration unit exhaust gas before it is compressed by the compression unit is cleaned in a first cleaning unit by means of a first cleaning liquid. A compression-condensate liquid, which is generated by the compression of the regeneration unit exhaust gas in the compression unit, is mixed into the first cleaning liquid through a first compression-condensate-liquid line whose one end is connected to the compression unit.

Multi-fiber, fiber optic cable assemblies may be configured so that the terminal ends of the cables have pre-assembled back-post assemblies that include pre-assembled ferrules, such as MPO ferrules that meet the requisite tolerances needed for fiber optic transmissions. To protect the pre-assembled components from damage prior to and during installation, pre-assembled components may be enclosed within a protective housing. The housing with pre-assembled components may be of a size smaller than fully assembled connectors so as to be sized to fit through a conduit. The remaining connector housing components for the multi-fiber connectors may be provided separately and may be configured to be attached to the back-post assembly after installation of the cable.

Process for managing hydrogen sulfide in a refinery

A process and apparatus for managing hydrogen sulfide in a refinery is provided. In the process, a hydrogen sulfide stream from said refinery is fed to a sulfur recovery unit to produce sulfur and a sulfur compound stream or to a thermal oxidizer. The sulfur compound stream and the hydrogen sulfide stream are then thermally oxidized to produce a sulfur oxide stream. The sulfur oxide stream is then reacted with an ammonia stream. In aspect, the product of the reaction can be a fertilizer. The ammonia stream can be obtained from stripping the hydrogen sulfide stream.
