SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVAL OF MERCURY AND/OR HYDROCHLORIC ACID FROM GAS STREAMS USING CALCIUM-CONTAINING PARTICLES
Several embodiments of the present technology are directed to the removal of one or more air pollutants using cooling and/or calcium-containing particles. In some embodiments, a method for removing air pollutants comprises flowing a gas stream having calcium-containing particles and one or more of mercury or hydrochloric acid molecules, and cooling the gas stream, thereby causing at least a portion of the calcium-containing particles to adsorb to the mercury and/or hydrochloric acid molecules in the gas stream. The method can further comprise, after cooling the gas stream, filtering the gas stream to remove at least a portion of the calcium-containing particles having adsorbed mercury and hydrochloric acid.
Fluorinated gas regeneration plant
A plant and a related method for the regeneration of fluorinated compounds, particularly sulfur hexafluoride, includes an inlet section designed to receive a gas mixture with the fluorinated compound to be regenerated, an outlet section designed to convey out the regenerated gas, and a fluid dynamic circuit that connects the inlet section to the outlet section and includes filtering elements. The filtering elements have a separation unit where the gas mixture is brought to a temperature and pressure that cause the fluorinated compound to condense while keeping the other components of the mixture in the gaseous state. The condensed fluorinated compound represents the regenerated compound to be conveyed toward the outlet section.

A combined power conversion and carbon capture and recycling subsystem including a fossil fueled oxidation unit, a physical adsorbent CO2 capture medium, rotor, motor, heater, CO2 compressor, diffuser and water storage tank. Exhaust gas from fossil fuel oxidation is scrubbed of CO2 via passage across a physical adsorbent and then released from the adsorbent via fuel oxidation waste heat. High CO2 concentration scrubber exhaust air is then compressed and fed to a diffuser which facilitates dissociation of the CO2 into water where it is temporarily stored for use in watering plants. Carbon from fossil fuel is recycled back into the environment and permanently stored as biomass by natural means of photosynthesis.

In a process for the separation of a stream containing carbon dioxide, water and at least one light impurity including a separation step at subambient temperature, the feed stream is compressed in a compressor comprising at least two stages to form a compressed feed stream, the compressed feed stream is purified in an adsorption unit to remove water and form a dried compressed stream, the dried compressed stream or a stream derived therefrom is cooled to a subambient temperature and separated by partial condensation and/or distillation in a separation apparatus, liquid enriched in carbon dioxide is removed from the separation apparatus, the adsorption unit is regenerated using a regeneration gas and the regeneration gas is formed by separating, by permeation in a permeation unit, the dried compressed stream or a gas derived therefrom, the permeate of the permeation unit constituting the regeneration gas.
System and method for integrated adsorptive gas separation of combustion gases
An integrated fuel combustion system with adsorptive gas separation separates a portion of carbon dioxide from a combustion gas mixture and provides for recycle of separated carbon dioxide to the intake of the fuel combustor for combustion. A process for carbon dioxide separation and recycle includes: admitting combustion gas to an adsorptive gas separation system contactor containing adsorbent material; adsorbing a portion of carbon dioxide; recovering a first product gas depleted in carbon dioxide for release or use; desorbing carbon dioxide from the adsorbent material and recovering a desorbed second product gas enriched in carbon dioxide for sequestration or use; admitting a conditioning fluid into the contactor and desorbing a second portion of carbon dioxide to recover a carbon dioxide enriched conditioning stream; and recycling a portion of the carbon dioxide enriched conditioning stream to an inlet of fuel combustor to pass through the fuel combustor for combustion.

SORPTION DRYING SYSTEM
Sorption drying system for dehumidification of a moist gas stream, comprising a mass (1) of absorbing material, a moist gas stream (2) arranged to flow through at least a part of the absorbent mass, and a heated stream of regeneration gas (3) arranged to flow through at least a part of the absorbent mass. The sorption drying system further comprises means (4) for deflecting a part of the dehumidified gas stream after flowing through the absorbent mass, a cooler (5) for cooling the deflected dehumidified gas stream, and means (6; 7) for returning the cooled deflected dehumidified gas stream to the moist gas stream at the inlet into the absorbent mass. At least a part of the cooled deflected dehumidified gas stream is arranged to flow through the absorbent mass in a channel separated from the moist gas stream.

Process for adsorbing hydrogen chloride from a regeneration vent gas
A process for adsorbing hydrogen chloride (HCl) from a regeneration vent gas. The regeneration vent gas is cooled from a catalyst regeneration zone. The cooled regeneration vent gas is passed to an adsorption zone that is spaced apart from the catalyst regeneration zone. HCl from the regeneration vent gas is adsorbed onto a sorbent in the adsorption zone to enrich the sorbent with HCl to provide HCl-rich sorbent and deplete HCl from the regeneration vent gas to provide HCl-lean regeneration vent gas. HCl-lean regeneration vent gas is purged as an effluent gas. HCl-rich sorbent is passed from the adsorption zone to a sorbent regeneration zone. HCl from the HCl-rich sorbent in the sorbent regeneration zone is desorbed to provide a regenerated sorbent. The regenerated sorbent is transferred to the adsorption zone.

The invention relates to an exhaust gas filter device for filtering contaminants out of exhaust gases, comprising: a filtering apparatus for filtering the exhaust gases, wherein the exhaust gases enter the filtering apparatus at a filter inlet surface, flow through the filtering apparatus and exit the filtering apparatus at a filter outlet surface; and a distribution channel for distributing the exhaust gases to be filtered along the filter inlet surface, and a collection channel for collecting the filtered exhaust gases exiting at the filter outlet surface; wherein the cross section of the collection channel increases in the direction of flow of the exhaust gases and/or the cross section of the distribution channel decreases in the direction of flow of the exhaust gases.
