Flow modulation systems, apparatus, and methods for cyclical swing adsorption
Methods, systems, and apparatus are provided for modulating fluid flow in a cyclical swing adsorption system that includes multiple adsorption bed vessels that are in fluid communication. When opening a valve to transition an adsorption bed vessel into a blowdown stage or a re-pressurization stage of a cyclical swing adsorption process, the valve is partially lifted from a closed position prior to being fully lifted. The valve includes a flow restriction aid positioned to restrict flow through the valve when the valve is in the partially lifted position.

The exhaust gas treatment system comprises a plurality of sorbent beds comprising a copper-doped small-pore zeolite, a valve system configured to establish independently for each sorbent bed fluid communication in a first or second configuration, wherein in the first configuration a flow of ammonia-containing exhaust gas contacts the sorbent bed at a temperature of less than 50° C. for storing the ammonia; and in the second configuration a flow of heated gas maintains the sorbent bed at a temperature of at least 300° C. for releasing and treating the ammonia in situ.
Hybrid nitrogen gas generation system
A hybrid nitrogen gas generation system includes a membrane nitrogen gas generator and a pressure swing absorption nitrogen generator. A gas comprising nitrogen is purified to a first nitrogen purity using one of the membrane nitrogen gas generator and the pressure swing absorption nitrogen generator. The gas is either bypassed around the other of the membrane nitrogen gas generator and the pressure swing absorption nitrogen generator to provide the gas having the first nitrogen purity or the gas is purified to a second nitrogen purity using the other of the membrane nitrogen gas generator and the pressure swing absorption nitrogen generator.
Brayton cycle adsorption desalination system
A Brayton cycle adsorption desalination system includes an adsorption desalination system including an evaporator for evaporating saline water to obtain water vapor, an adsorbent bed for adsorbing and desorbing the water vapor, and a condenser for condensing the water vapor to obtain distilled water. The Brayton cycle adsorption desalination system further includes a Brayton cycle system including a primary heat exchanger (PHE) and a cooler configured to cool an exhaust from the PHE. The Brayton cycle system and the adsorption desalination system are connected at the PHE so that the PHE is configured to function as a heat source for the adsorbent bed. The Brayton cycle system and the adsorption desalination system are connected at the cooler so that the evaporator is configured to absorb heat rejected from the cooler.
Heated moisture pump having a differential valve area
Systems including a moisture pump for removing moisture from an inside environment to an outside environment. The moisture pump includes a housing defining a chamber with a heater, a heat spreader, and a desiccant for selectively adsorbing water vapor in the heating chamber when the heater is off and desorbing water vapor into the heating chamber when the heater is on. A valve assembly is also maintained by the housing transitionable between an adsorption position and desorption position. The adsorption position allows water vapor to be selectively transmitted into the heating chamber from the inside environment. The desorption position allows water vapor to be transmitted from the heating chamber for transmission into the outside environment. The adsorption and desorption ports can have asymmetric adsorption and desorption areas.
Evaporated fuel treatment apparatus
An evaporated fuel treatment apparatus includes a canister, a purge passage, a purge pump, a purge valve, and a controller for executing purge control. The controller is configured to switch the purge valve to a closed state or an open state once, subsequently set a concentration sensing flag to ON, and then detect a purge concentration based on a pump downstream pressure or a pump differential pressure at a predetermined timing elapsed by a predetermined time from setting of the concentration sensing flag to ON.
Dryer for drying compressed gas and method of regenerating a desiccant material comprised within said dryer
The present invention is directed to a dryer provided with an inlet for receiving a flow of compressed gas and an outlet for providing dry air, said dryer comprising: a first and a second adsorption vessel connected in parallel, a depressurization unit connectable to the inlet flow conduit of each of said first and second adsorption vessels; whereby the dryer further comprises a flow reducer connectable to the inlet flow conduit of each of the first and second adsorption vessels and whereby said control valves are adapted to be switched in a first state, and a second state.
EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM
An exhaust system for the treatment of a humid exhaust gas comprising a species to be treated, the system comprising: a dehumidifier system comprising a humid air inlet for providing a flow of humid exhaust gas; a first gas inlet for providing a flow of dehumidified exhaust gas; a second gas inlet for providing a flow of heated gas; a plurality of sorbent beds for releasably storing the species; a treatment unit comprising either: one or more catalysts for decomposing the species; or a condensing unit for recovering the species in liquid or aqueous form; first and second exhaust gas outlets; and a valve system configured to establish independently for each sorbent bed fluid communication in a first or second configuration, wherein: i) in the first configuration the flow of the dehumidified exhaust gas from the first gas inlet contacts a sorbent bed for storing the species and then passes to the first gas outlet; and ii) in the second configuration the flow of heated gas from the second gas inlet contacts a sorbent bed for releasing the species, passes to the treatment unit and then passes to the second exhaust gas outlet; wherein the valve system is configured to ensure that at least one sorbent bed is in the first configuration and, preferably at least one other sorbent bed is in the second configuration; wherein the flow of dehumidified exhaust gas provided by the first gas inlet is received from the dehumidifier system.
CARBON DIOXIDE RECOVERY SYSTEM
A carbon dioxide recovery system includes: an adsorber configured to adsorb and desorb carbon dioxide; a supply channel through which supply gas passes; a storage section configured to store carbon dioxide desorbed from the adsorber; and a gas supply section supplying carbon dioxide stored in the storage section to the adsorber. The carbon dioxide recovery system is operated in an adsorption mode, a desorption mode or in a desorption preparation mode. In the adsorption mode, the adsorber adsorbs CO.sub.2 contained in the supply gas supplied through the supply channel. In the desorption mode, the adsorber desorbs the adsorbed CO.sub.2, and the storage section stores CO.sub.2 desorbed from the adsorber. In the desorption preparation mode, the gas supply section supplies CO.sub.2 stored in the storage section to the adsorber during a time from an end of the adsorption mode to a start of the desorption mode.
