Liquid separator

A liquid separator comprises a vessel with an inlet for a liquid/gas mixture. The vessel defines a space sealed at the top by means of a lid in which is situated an outlet to discharge treated gas. A shield is provided in the space extending around the outlet as of the lid, and a filter element provided within the shield. An outlet zone is defined between the shield and the filter element, wherein the outlet zone is in connection with the outlet. The shield comprises a bottom wall with at least one inlet opening and connection means for attaching the filter element onto the bottom wall. The connection means is configured such that the filter element, in a mounted condition, extends around the inlet opening as from the bottom wall, within a chamber defined by the shield, the lid and the bottom wall.

The filter element includes an annular seal that can seal to round and non-round sealing surfaces and acts to block fluid flow between the open end cap and a pipe assembly in a pressure vessel assembly. A support bar is enclosed by the filter media and has a key. The filter element has a key receptacle to receive the key of the support bar. The user knows that the seal between the filter element and the pipe assembly is fully aligned and engaged when the key from the support bar fully enters the key receptacle of the filter element.

AIR CLEANER ARRANGEMENTS; SERVICEABLE FILTER ELEMENTS; AND, METHODS

An air cleaner arrangement or assembly is provided. The air cleaner arrangement includes a serviceable filter cartridge. The air cleaner assembly also includes an arrangement for positioning the filter cartridge into a preferred, sealing, orientation and for securing the filter cartridge in that location. Preferred serviceable filter cartridges are provided, as well as methods of assembly and use.

AIR FILTER WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OR POSITIONING

Radial seal filter assemblies and filter cartridges are described. According to various embodiments, a filter includes a housing that extends along an axis between first and second axial ends. A primary filter element is disposed in the housing and axially extends between first and second axial ends that respectively are adjacent the first and second axial ends of the housing, the primary filter element has a hollow interior and a first axial length. A secondary filter element is disposed in the hollow interior of the primary filter element, the secondary filter element having a second axial length, the second axial length being longer than the first axial length of the primary filter element. The filter further includes an end cap disposed on the second axial end of the primary filter element.

Positive pressure air cleaning apparatus for a crankcase ventilation system

Apparatuses, systems and methods are disclosed including apparatus for a ventilation system for supplying air to a crankcase of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus can optionally include a housing, an air filter, a lid and a pressure relief valve. The housing can form a cavity and having an inlet and an outlet therein. The inlet communicates with the cavity and is offset from a centerline axis of the housing. The air filter can be received by the cavity. An outer circumference of the air filter can be oriented at an angle that is substantially tangent to the inlet. The lid can be attachable to and removable from the housing for selectively accessing the air filter. The pressure relief valve coupled to the housing and in fluid communication with the cavity.

Drawer type air cleaner having increased maintenance convenience, and intake system and vehicle having the same

A drawer type air cleaner having increased maintenance convenience is provided. The drawer type air cleaner includes a door that is configured to open or close an opening of filter receiving cavity formed in air cleaner body that suctions exterior air and discharges fresh air and a filter disposed in the filter receiving cavity and configured to filter out foreign substances from the exterior air and convert the exterior air into fresh air. The filter having a packing is disposed in the filter receiving cavity and thus provides an airtight seal between the filter and the filter receiving cavity. A filter protector is interlocked with an operation of closing the door to convert the filter from an incompletely coupled state when the filter disposed in the filter receiving cavity and is unable to compress the packing into a fully coupled state to a state when the filter compresses the packing.

Filter elements, air cleaner assemblies, and methods of use and assembly

Air cleaner assemblies, components, and features are described. The features can be used to provide that the air cleaner assembly includes a housing and cover within which primary and secondary filter cartridges, having a media pack and a seal arrangement surrounding the media pack, can be installed. The filter cartridges can include an open end cap with an axially deviating seal arrangement and a plurality of axially extending channels for engaging with ribs on the housing. The filter cartridges can also include extension members extending from the open end cap that include the axially extending channels, entirely or partially. The filter cartridges can also include a guide member extending from the extension members for providing a low friction surface against the housing during installation that allows axial force exerted by the installer to be translated into a rotational force that rotates the filter cartridge during installation.

Flow-Optimized Desiccant Cartridge

Disclosed is a desiccant cartridge (10) for drying and de-oiling a gaseous fluid, and a method for flow guidance within the desiccant cartridge. The desiccant cartridge and a housing (12) having positioned therein an inner pot (28) in which an oil separating medium (50) for oil particles contained in the fluid and a desiccant (52) for drying the gaseous fluid are arranged one after the other in the direction of the housing longitudinal axis (14). The housing (12) has a housing base (18) having a centrally arranged inlet (20) for the fluid to be dried and de-oiled and having eccentrically arranged outlet openings (24) for the dried and de-oiled fluid. During normal operation of the desiccant cartridge (10), the gaseous fluid guided into the desiccant cartridge (10) via the central inlet (20) is first guided in a flow through the oil separating medium (50) and then through the desiccant (52).
