Filter Arrangement

A filter housing has a first housing part with a first rim section and a second housing part with a second rim section. The housing parts can be joined and separated from each other in axial mounting direction and define a housing interior for a filter element provided with a circumferentially extending sealing element. The first and second rim sections form a receiving area in which the sealing element is seal-tightly clamped radially between the first and second rim sections when the housing parts are joined in the mounted state. A snap connecting device axially braces the first and second housing parts relative to each other. The snap connecting device is formed integrally on the first and second housing parts such that a clamping force applied by the first and second rim sections on the sealing element in radial direction is decoupled from the snap connecting device.

3D PRINTED MECHANICAL LOCKS FOR END CAP POTTING

A method includes providing a computer-readable three-dimensional model of a filter medium including a plurality of segments, each segment of the three-dimensional model being configured to be converted into a plurality of slices that each define a cross-sectional layer of the filter medium, the filter medium including a first end defining a first cavity that extends from the first end along a predetermined direction that defines an undercut along the first predetermined direction; and successively forming each layer of the filter medium by additive manufacturing.

Housing and filter system having a housing

A housing (110) having a housing body (112), connected to a mating housing cover (114) are arranged along a longitudinal axis (A). The housing (110) receives a filter element (10). A push-twist structure (120) is provided on the housing body and the housing cover connecting the housing body (112) and housing cover (114) by way of a push-twist mount. The push-twist structure (120) having mating push-twist elements (122, 124) arranged on the housing body (112) and the housing cover (114). An anti-rotation lock structure (160) is provided for securing the push-twist structure (120) in its closed position in an anti-rotation lock manner.

A filter assembly includes a filter head and filter cartridge. The filter cartridge includes a housing and element. The housing includes a can with an open mouth. An interface ring is secured to the can adjacent to the open mouth. The outer ring surface is against the inner wall of the can. The ring wall is angled between the first and second ends greater than one degree and less than 6 degrees. Methods of filtering and making the housing are provided.

AIR FILTER FOR TURBOCHARGERS AND SUPERCHARGERS
20200040853 · 2020-02-06 · ·

An apparatus and a method are provided for an air filter configured to be mounted onto air inlets of turbochargers and superchargers. The air filter comprises a proximal base including an inlet receiver configured to receive an air inlet, a clamp to secure the air inlet within the inlet receiver, and a first opening aligned with a screw mechanism of the clamp. A filter medium fastened to the proximal base is configured to remove particulate matter and other contaminates from an incoming air stream. A distal end cap fastened to the filter medium comprises a second opening aligned with the first opening. A conduit within an interior cavity of the air filter is disposed between the first opening and the second opening, facilitating tightening and loosening the clamp by extending an appropriate tool through the interior cavity so as to engage the screw mechanism of the clamp.

Air Filter

An air filter has a filter housing with inlet opening, outlet opening, and service opening. A first filter element and a second filter element are arranged inside the filter housing between inlet opening and outlet opening. The first filter element is arranged in a mounting frame. The first and second filter elements can be flowed through serially in one or more operating states of the air filter. The mounting frame is insertable through the service opening into the filter housing in a joining direction and removable from the filter housing opposite to the joining direction. The second filter element has a wedge stop. A clamping wedge arranged at the mounting frame, upon insertion of the mounting frame into the filter housing, contacts the wedge stop of the second filter element and clamps the second filter element at the filter housing in a clamping direction transversely to the joining direction.
