AIR FILTER
An air filter including an open end, a closed end, and a filter area there between. The open end frictionally engages and seals an air port, while the closed end mates with the housing to secure the filter to the housing. The filter area is reinforced to provide a durable, reusable filter. The filter material is selected to provide depth loading and increase the particulate capacity of the filter.
BLOW-BY GAS FILTRATION ASSEMBLY WITH BLOCKING INSERT
A blow-by gas filtration assembly fluidically connects to a crankcase ventilation circuit of an internal combustion engine. The filtration assembly has an axis and includes a filter group having a hollow cylindrical shape with a central chamber radially traversable by the blow-by gases, preferably from the outside to the inside. In addition, the filtration assembly includes a support and control member engageable to the filter group for supporting it in an axial position along the axis and for controlling it in rotation around the axis to perform the filtration operations. The member and the filter group respectively include a locking crown and a locking ring specially shaped to accommodate each other. The blow-by gas filtration assembly also includes a locking insert insertable radially with respect to the axis through the locking crown and the locking ring to perform reciprocal locking of the filter group to the member.
FILTER ELEMENTS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING FILTER ELEMENTS
A filter element, for placement in a housing of a filter system, includes a filter medium pack and a seal arrangement having a seal and a seal carrier. The filter medium pack includes, for example, a pleated filter medium or a fluted filter medium. The seal carrier includes an axial side coupled to at least a portion of an axial face of the filter medium pack by a thermal welding manufacturing process. The coupling of the seal to the seal carrier is obtainable by manufacturing the seal arrangement with a multi-material injection molding manufacturing process. The present disclosure further relates to a method for manufacturing a filter element, the method including steps of thermal welding and multi-material injection molding.
NON-CYLINDRICAL FILTER AND SIDE ENTRY AIR CLEANER INCORPORATING THE SAME
A filter element is provided that is preferably a side entry air filter having an air filter media pack, a housing seal and a frame that has a clamping projection, a pivot projection and/or guide members. The clamping projection can define a non-linear bearing surface that may be chevron shaped to provide for interface and potential alignment benefits. The housing seal may be a wave seal that undulates.
Filter Insert for Installation in a Liquid Separator, Liquid Separator, Method for Providing the Aforementioned Filter Insert as well as Use of the Filter Insert in a Liquid Separator
A filter insert to be installed in a housing of a liquid separator has a hollow cylindrical separation element in the form of a coalescer for separating a liquid from a gas flow. A flange at an end face of the hollow cylindrical separation element can be arranged exchangeably between a cover and a cylindrical body of the housing. The flange has a support surface at a radially outer rim of the flange to be supported on an upper support region of the housing facing the cover of the housing. The flange has a guide structure determining a position of the flange on the upper support region of the housing. The guide structure is to receive a counter structure of the liquid separator. The guide structure has an axial elevation projecting away from the end face of the separation element. A liquid separator is provided with such a filter insert.
FILTER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A filter assembly and method include a body having first second surfaces defining a cavity between the surfaces. A conduit system is disposed within the cavity. The conduit system includes an inlet disposed at the first surface and receives a fluid mixture comprising a fluid and debris. The conduit system is shaped to separate a first portion of the fluid and a mixture of a second portion of the fluid and the debris. The conduit system includes a first outlet disposed at a position within the cavity and a second outlet disposed at the second surface of the body. The conduit system directs the mixture of the second portion of the fluid and the debris out of the conduit system and into the cavity of the body via the first outlet, and directs the first portion of the fluid out of the conduit system via the second outlet.
SIDE ENTRY WAVE SEAL AIR CLEANER
A filter element having a filter media pack with an inlet end, outlet end, and outer periphery extending therebetween. The inlet and outlet ends are separated along an axis. The outer periphery includes a first pair of opposed sides between the inlet and outlet ends, and a second pair of opposed sides extending transversely between the first pair of opposed sides. A frame supports the outer periphery, having opposing first frame side segments, and a second frame segment. Each first frame side segment includes a pair of guide projections extending along respective first sides. The guide projections are spaced apart from one another from a broad end at one second side, to a narrow end at the other second side, and arranged to receive axial forces received within a housing having complementary engagement surfaces. A housing seal is supported along one guide projection, sealing against the complementary engagement surfaces.
Filter Cartridges; Air Cleaner Assemblies; Housings; Features; Components; and, Methods
According to the present disclosure, features, components and techniques useable for providing air cleaner arrangements are provided. Many of the features relate to an axial seal arrangement provided on a filter cartridge. A typical filter cartridge, for use with these features, is a filter cartridge having opposite flow ends. Example media arrangements that fit this characterization are described. Seal arrangements provided with an axial housing sealing engagement surface are shown. A seal arrangement is provided with variations therein, to advantage. These variations can be in either or both of an outer peripheral edge surface and a housing seal engagement surface. Also, air cleaner assemblies having advantageous features therein are provided. Further, air cleaner housings are described, with selected, preferred features for engagement with filter cartridges.
Air filter arrangement; assembly; and, methods
An air filter media construction or arrangement is disclosed. The air filter media construction or arrangement includes media comprising opposite inlet and outlet flow faces, with a perimeter housing seal. Also described are serviceable filter cartridges and air cleaners including the filter cartridges. Methods of assembly and use are also provided.
