Panel Filter with Molded Frame and Integral Seal

A filter cartridge is provided. The filter cartridge includes a filter element comprising a filter media, and the filter element extends between an inlet face and an outlet face. The filter element defines a periphery surrounding the filter media. The filter cartridge also includes a border frame including a plurality of side panels, and the side panels are independently molded-in-place along the periphery of the filter element. Adjacent members of the side panels are joined together along a plurality of mold interface seams, and the mold interface seams are spaced around the periphery. The plurality of side panels are embedded in and seal the periphery of the filter element such that fluid flow inside the border frame is directed to pass through the filter media for filtering in order to pass from the inlet face to the outlet face.

FILTER WITH SHIELD FEATURES

Filters and filter assemblies including one or more shield elements to protect the filter media of the filters during installation of the filters into a filter housing of the filter assembly are provided. A filter includes first and second media packs, a housing seal system, a handle and a shield element. Filter media packs extend from a first end to a second end in a diverging manner. The first end has a length dimension and a width dimension that extend transversely. A shield element projects over the first and second media packs at the first end a span in the width direction of at least 40% of the width dimension defined by the first and second media packs and projecting a span in the length direction of at least 5% of the length dimension defined by the first end.

To provide a high-temperature filter having a seal to maintain filtering properties and generating less dust at a high temperature. The high-temperature filter (1) comprises a filtering medium (2) made of glass fibers, which is folded in a zigzag pattern; a separator (4) that is folded in a wave shape and inserted into gaps of the filtering medium; a frame (6) made of stainless steel that houses the filtering medium and the separator; and end seals (8) made of ceramic that is applied to the frame and solidified after an end of the filtering medium is immersed thereinto, which ceramic is modified to have a coefficient of thermal expansion that is the same as that of the stainless steel. The separator is preferably made of the glass fibers used for the filtering medium. A spacer (14) may be provided on the surface of the filtering medium instead of the separator.
