Vehicle air filter

A vehicle intake air filter is provided forming an inner conduit formed between an upper orifice and a lower orifice. In addition to an outer filtering layer, a secondary filtering layer or layers are provided spanning the upper orifice. A monitoring mechanism for measuring and communicating a function of the air filter is further located within the upper orifice. The monitoring mechanism measures and communicates the function of the air filter. A plurality of sensors measure a differential pressure between the outer and inner surfaces of the filter. A remote communication system transmits sensor data from the sensors via a wireless communication protocol to a remote electronic monitor device, such as a cell phone. Increased pressure differential or filter performance or efficacy may thereby be displayed to the user on a real-time basis. Interface Air Filter and Assembly

An air filter retention interface for use with an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The interface is substantially secured in an opening of a wall and the interface attaches to an air filter at the front end of the interface and an air intake tube on the back end of the interface. The interface has a filter sleeve and a filter base. During operation of the engine the filter sleeve is disposed through the opening in the wall such that the wall is between beads disposed on the external surface of the filter sleeve and the filter base thereby substantially securing the interface in place and the front end of the filter base is attached to the filter and the back end of the filter base is attached to the air intake tube and air passes through the filter then through the filter base and filter sleeve and then into the air intake tube and toward the engine.

A first engagement device extending axially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the filter medium body is arranged at the first end plate. A second filter element has a filter medium body and a seal device for radially sealing the second filter element in a filter housing. A fluid flow through the second filter element is perpendicular to a plane spanned by the seal device. The seal device has a second engagement device extending axially perpendicularly to the plane spanned by the seal device. The filter elements are axially joined to a filter element arrangement, wherein the first and second engagement devices engage each other. A filter system has such a filter element arrangement arranged in a filter housing.

Filter element, dust collector, and methods

A filter element includes a media pack and a gasket member. The gasket member includes first and second gasket regions separated by a channel. The elements are usable in a dust collector having a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet, and a tube sheet dividing between an unfiltered and a clean air volume. An element is removably mounted and sealed within the tube sheet. At least one projection angled relative to a plane of the tube sheet extends into the channel of the gasket member. A method of servicing a dust collector includes removing a first filter element from the tube sheet in the housing, and then sealing a second filter element against the tube sheet by orienting at least one projection extending from a plane of the tube sheet into a channel defined by a gasket member secured to the second filter element. An axial force is exerted to form a seal between the gasket member and the tube sheet.

Interface air filter and assembly

An air filter retention interface for use with an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The interface is substantially secured in an opening of a wall and the interface attaches to an air filter at the front end of the interface and an air intake tube on the back end of the interface. The interface has a filter sleeve and a filter base. During operation of the engine the filter sleeve is disposed through the opening in the wall such that the wall is between beads disposed on the external surface of the filter sleeve and the filter base thereby substantially securing the interface in place and the front end of the filter base is attached to the filter and the back end of the filter base is attached to the air intake tube and air passes through the filter then through the filter base and filter sleeve and then into the air intake tube and toward the engine.

FILTER ELEMENT, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

A gas turbine air intake system uses a filter element having a seal member with radial projections and radial recesses. The seal member forms a seal with components on the tube sheet of the system and at the end opposite of the tube sheet. At the end opposite of the tube sheet, there can be an assembly cover, or alternatively, an additional filter cartridge.
