The filter element may include a first end plate, a second end plate, and a filtering material arranged between the first end plate and the second end plate that separates a filtered zone from an unfiltered zone. The second end plate may protrude beyond the filtering material. The filtering system may further include at least one filtered opening and at least one unfiltered opening, and the at least one filtered opening may be disposed in the filter element. The filter element may lie detachably on the holder, and the holder together with the second end plate, the filtering material and an outer wall may enclose the unfiltered zone.
Panel filter element
Panel filter elements having a pleat block and a seal member are described. The panel filter elements are arranged such that the seal members and pleat blocks can have curved and/or angled elements. The seal member of a filter element may be curved, angled, twisted, and/or has a varying cross-section. The inlet and outlet faces of the pleat block of the filter element may be curved and/or twisted instead of planar. In some arrangements, both the seal member of the filter element and the faces of the pleat blocks can be curved and/or twisted. The described filter elements may be may be flexible, such that the shape of the filter element and/or seal can conform to the shape of a filter housing, or rigid, such that the shape of the filter element remains substantially the same before and after installation into a filter housing.
Filter assembly
The technology disclosed herein generally relates to fluted filter assemblies, where flutes formed in the filter media extend from a first flow face of the filter assembly to a second flow face of the filter assembly, where one flow face is an inlet and one flow face is the outlet. Some embodiments relate to first flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face differing from a second flute distance between the first flow face and the second flow face by greater than 2 mm. In some embodiments at least one of the first flow face and the second flow face is non-planar, while in other embodiments at both of the first flow face and the second flow face are planar and non-parallel. Other embodiments are described.
Filter assembly for an air filter
A filter assembly for an air filter includes a filter element and a sealing member. The filter element has a filter medium and includes an inflow side, an outflow side, and a filter axis extending therethrough from the inflow side to the outflow side. The sealing member surrounds a peripheral edge of the inflow side of the filter element. The sealing member includes an edge protecting portion and a sealing portion. The edge protecting portion includes a side portion extending in a first direction from the peripheral edge of the inflow side along a portion of a side of the filter element. The sealing portion depends from the edge protecting portion and extends axially farther than the side portion of the edge protecting portion in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The sealing portion is adapted to engage a housing of the air filter.
Filter cartridge arrangements and assemblies; preferred features; methods of assembly and use
The present disclosure relates to filter assemblies. The features described and characterized are typically applied in gas (for example, air) cleaner assemblies. A typical use is in air cleaner assemblies for vehicles or other equipment. The techniques described relate, at least in part, to provision of assemblies with preferred configurations for convenient servicing and operation, while ensuring a proper cartridge is appropriately positioned, oriented and secured for use. Many of the techniques relate to arrangements in which features at opposite ends of a housing and/or cartridge are eccentrically positioned as described.
Filter element for filtration and dehumidification of a gas
A filter element for filtration and dehumidification of a gas has at least one filter medium body with an outflow side delimiting a clean-side flow chamber. A dehumidification unit is arranged downstream of the at least one filter medium body in a flow direction of the gas in the clean-side flow chamber. A carrier body accommodates the at least one filter medium body and the dehumidification unit. The dehumidification unit is connected flow-tightly to an outflow opening of the clean-side flow chamber. The dehumidification unit is arranged in the clean-side flow chamber at a spacing relative to the at least one filter medium body.
Filter assembly with multiple filter media
A filter assembly including: a first filter medium that is bent so that high-point portions and low-point portions defined based on a vertical plane with respect to a first direction are alternately and repeatedly formed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; a first filter frame configured to accommodate the first filter medium and to fix an edge side of the first filter medium; a second filter medium that is bent so that the low-point portions and the high-point portions based on the vertical plane with respect to the first direction are alternately and repeatedly formed in the second direction; and a second filter frame configured to accommodate the second filter medium and to fix an edge side of the second filter medium, wherein at least a portion of the high-point portions repeatedly formed in the first filter medium have different heights from those of the other high-point portions, and at least a portion of the low-point portions repeatedly formed in the second filter medium have different heights from those of the other low-point portions, and the first and second filter media are bent in such a way that a first filter medium high-point envelope connecting high points of the first filter medium and a second filter medium low-point envelope connecting low points of the second filter medium correspond to each other when viewed from a cross-section including the first direction and the second direction, and the first and second filter frames are combined with each other so that the first filter medium high-point envelope and the second filter medium low-point envelope face each other.
Filter and filter cartridge
A filter cartridge for a filter for filtration of a fluid has a prismatic basic shape with a base face and a top face arranged parallel to each other and each having a polygonal basic shape. The prismatic basic shape is provided with a first lateral face and a second lateral face neighboring the first lateral face, wherein the first lateral face is an inflow surface and is substantially positioned perpendicular to the neighboring second lateral face. The prismatic basic shape has a third lateral face that is an outflow surface and is positioned at an angle relative to the first lateral face, wherein the angle is greater than 10° and smaller than 80°. A filter with such a filter cartridge is disclosed.
