Horticultural container
A horticultural container includes a tag slot for receiving a display tag. The tag slot has an inner wall and an outer wall spaced widthwise from one another, and one of the inner or outer walls has at least two curved peaks separated by a valley and extending into the slot towards the other of the inner or outer wall to hold the tag against the other of the inner or outer wall. The peaks provide a radius that reduces cracking of the tag and increases longevity thereof, and reduces tag sagging, collapsing, or curling.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED FARMING OF POTTED PLANTS
A system for automated farming of potted plants is disclosed and includes a closed-loop conveyor system configured to facilitate gradual cyclic mobility and storage of a plurality of potted plants. The system also includes at least one centralized processing zone disposed along the conveyor system and configured to perform at least one operation such as fertilization, irrigation, treatment, instrumentation, repotting, seeding, and inspection on each individual pot. The processing zone includes at least one sensor configured to detect at least one property of a potted plant. The system also includes a processing unit in communication with the at least one sensor, the processing unit configured to determine a state of each potted plant based on the at least one detected property. The state describes a physical state of the potted plant. The system also includes at least one loading station coupled to the conveyor system and configured to feed (input) potted plants to the conveyor system, and at least one unloading station coupled to the conveyor system and configured to unload (output) potted plants from the conveyor system.
HORTICULTURE FASTENER
A fastener device adapted for attaching at least one tag (or other identifier) to an object. The fastener device comprises a T-bar component, a paddle component, and a filament component flexibly attached to both the T-bar component on one end and the paddle component on the other end. In some embodiments, the fastener device is deployable via a fastener dispensing device comprising a needle designed to puncture a hole in at least one tag and the object while also inserting the T-bar component through the hole. Once inserted, the paddle component exerts a cantilever spring force against at least one tag holding the tag(s) securely against the object.
PLANT IDENTIFICATION HOLDER
A plant identification holder that comprises a base portion that includes a sign-retention receptacle configured to selectively retain a plant identification sign. The plant identification holder also includes an anchor portion that includes at least one anchor coupled to and extending from the base portion.
Process and apparatus for providing durable plant tags for horticultural organization
A system and method for selecting plants based on climate data and plant data. The system receives climate data and plant data and selects plants for a geographical division based on the climate data and plant data. The system generates durable plant tags with for the plants that have an icon that identifies the lighting level and watering level of the plants using a color and a number.
Plant containment system having two-position valve
A plant growing, transportation, display, and maintenance system including a plant pot and corresponding container having a selectable valve that controls the flow of liquid into and out of the container.
Mixed media vertical farming
A mixed media farm may include a tray for holding water at a prescribed water level. A cell may be placable on the tray, with the cell defining a cavity and having at least one opening in communication with the cavity. The cell may be sized such that when the cell is placed on the tray, a lower portion of the cell resides below the prescribed water level and an upper portion of the cell resides above the prescribed water level. Soil may be in the cavity, with the soil having a lower portion below the prescribed water level, and an upper portion above the prescribed water level when the cell is placed in the tray. A plurality of seeds may be planted in the upper portion of the soil, with the plurality of seeds defining a seed density of greater than 5 seeds per square inch.
System and method for stabilizing containerized plants
A method and system for supporting containerized plants in an upright and stationary position and at customizable, uniform spacing therebetween. The system comprises a frame, pockets, stabilizers positioned within the pockets and spacers. The pockets, stabilizers and spacers provide both horizontal and vertical support to each containerized plant, holding it securely in place without stakes or cables. The pockets with stabilizers and the spacers may be arranged in various patterns to promote stability of the system and health of the containerized plants. An irrigation system may be coupled to the system for maintaining and nourishing plants. The length of the frame is greater than the width, thus creating a stable environment to combat winds and disruptive forces. Individual frames may be attached to form designated and defined uniform growing or display areas and provide greater stability.
