PLANT GROWING SYSTEMS AND METHODS, AND METHODS OF MAKING SUCH SYSTEMS
Systems and methods suitable for growing, identifying, and tracking plugs and plants using radio-frequency identification (RFID) devices, as well as methods for making such systems. Such a method includes providing a biodegradable pot assembly and a non-biodegradable RFID module. The pot assembly has an assembly basewall and assembly sidewalls contiguous with the assembly basewall to define a cavity within the pot assembly. The RFID module is embedded within the assembly basewall, has openings therethrough, and comprises an RFID device configured to communicate with an RFID reader and store information identifying the pot assembly. The roots of a seedling grown in a growing medium within the pot assembly grow through and entangle the RFID module. Data is stored on the RFID device to identify the seedling, and an RFID reader is used to communicate with the RFID device to receive the data from the RFID device and identify the seedling.
GARDEN RING SYSTEM
A garden ring system includes a planting apparatus having a bottom-less pot including an outer wall, an inner cavity, a first-opening, and a second-opening. The bottom-less pot is able to be placed around a garden plant or tree to promote growth. The device keeps moisture in the immediate area of the tree or plant to ensure that water surrounds the plant and keeps the ground moist for extended periods of time.
SEED CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLY FOR ENCLOSED GROWING ENVIRONMENT
A seed cartridge configured for indoor growing appliances. The seed cartridge may be a self-contained apparatus having a structure that contain one or more seeds suspended in one or more layers of substrate. The structure of the seed cartridge may include a removable top surface, a bottom surface, and a side surface. The side surface may be substantially coned shaped to provide a larger top surface when compared with the bottom surface and include one or more openings, holes, or slits along the exterior side surface to allow water to be delivered from the indoor growing appliances to the seeds.
Tagging of fruit-producing flowers for robotic selective harvesting
The locations of flowers on a plant, rather than the locations of agricultural products produced from such flowers, are used to facilitate the performance of harvesting and other agricultural operations in robotic agricultural applications. In some implementations, the identified location of a fruit-producing flower may be used by a robotic device to apply an indicator tag to a flowering plant proximate the flower for later identification when performing various types of directed and automated agricultural operations. In other implementations, the identified location of a fruit-producing flower may be used by a robotic device to anchor a stem of a flowering plant to a predetermined location such that the location of the flower, and of any fruit(s) later produced by such flower, are controlled and/or known when performing subsequent agricultural operations.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING DURABLE PLANT TAGS FOR HORTICULTURAL ORGANIZATION
A system and method for selecting plants based on climate data and plant data. The system receives climate data and plant data and selects plants for a geographical division based on the climate data and plant data. The system generates durable plant tags with for the plants that have an icon that identifies the lighting level and watering level of the plants using a color and a number.
DOUBLE-WALLED HOLDER AND INSERT
A double walled holder is provided. The double-walled holder provides a floor and walls capable of attachment of various hooks to the walls of the holder. The double-walled holder has an interior cavity to receive an insert. The double-walled holder holds images and momentoes as well as receiving an insert capable of holding a plant.
TAG RETAINER FOR A HORTICULTURAL CONTAINER
Provided is a tag retaining system for use with a container. The tag retaining system includes a tag retainer having a front surface and a back surface. The back surface has a middle portion interposed between first and second side portions. The first and second side portions have adhesive thereon for mounting to a surface of a container. The middle portion is free of adhesive to form a tag opening between the surface of the container and the middle portion and the tag opening receives a tag therein.
Multi-purpose labeling device
A labeling device that can be affixed to articles of different shapes by more than one method and can provide information regarding the contents of the article.
Plant producing writing instrument and method of growing a plant
The present disclosure provides instruments, kits and methods for growing a plant. In some embodiments, a plant producing writing instrument is provided. Such writing instrument may include a housing having a writing end and an opposing non-writing end. In addition, a capsule with one or more seeds may be disposed at the non-writing end of the housing. The capsule may be degradable after placement in a moist soil to release the one or more seeds.
STAKE TAG
A tag that includes a stake portion, a connecting portion, and a display portion. The connecting portion is coupled to the stake portion by a first fold line. Additionally, the display portion is coupled to the connecting portion by a second fold line. Moreover, the tag is configured to be folded along the first fold line and the second fold line so that the display portion is positioned substantially parallel to the stake portion.
