MICRO-ENCAPSULATING FLOCCULATING DISPERSION WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A system for continuously treating water with residual oil and/or solids includes a treatment system with inline mixers. A pH adjustment fluid may be added to the water in a first inline mixer. A micro-encapsulating flocculating dispersion flocculant may be added in a second inline mixer. The addition of the micro-encapsulating flocculating dispersion flocculant may cause flocculation of residual oil and/or solids in the water to form a pin flocculant. An activator may be added in a third inline mixer and a conditioner may be added in a fourth inline mixer. Bulk flocculant may be formed from the pin flocculant after the addition of the conditioner. The resultant mixture may flow to a settling tank where the flocculants may settle to produce treated water. After settling, the treated water may flow through a mechanical filter and/or a sorption filter to produce water suitable for desalination and/or other downstream processes.
Thermoelectric air gap membrane distillation system and process
A distillation apparatus having a hot liquid block, a thermoelectric module (TEM), a condensation surface, a feed liquid chamber having a feed chamber inlet, a feed chamber outlet, and a membrane disposed on at least one side of the feed liquid chamber. One side of the membrane faces to the condensation surface. An air gap of 1 mm to 20 cm separates the condensation surface and the membrane. A permeate outlet in fluid communication with the air gap. A heating unit in fluid communication with the feed liquid chamber and the hot liquid block. A cooling unit in fluid communication with the permeate outlet. A multi-stage distillation apparatus with a plurality of distillation apparatuses. A process of distilling water, by feeding a liquid into the distillation apparatus through the hot block inlet and collecting distilled water from the permeate outlet.
HEAT EXCHANGER INTEGRATION WITH MEMBRANE SYSTEM FOR EVAPORATOR PRE-CONCENTRATION
A system for processing a feed includes a membrane system configured to receive the feed and produce a concentrate and a permeate, wherein the membrane system includes an active cooling system, a passive cooling system, or a combination thereof. Further, the system includes a heat exchanger in fluid communication with the membrane system and disposed upstream of the membrane system, such that the feed enters the heat exchanger prior to entering the membrane system, wherein the heat exchanger is configured to cool the feed and heat the concentrate by transferring heat from the feed to the concentrate.

The Thermodesalination Device has the capability of employing reverse osmosis via a specialized desalination system. This specialized desalination system is integrated into the upper portion of a steam turbine generator that separates seawater into fresh water and concentrated brine, for preferred allocation. The disclosed desalination device includes a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane comprising a solute side and a solvent side and vanes configured to strengthen a sheer of the RO membrane. The disclosure also includes a steam turbine configured to superheat a saltwater input and create a pressurized and superheated saltwater output on the solute side of the RO membrane. The disclosure yet includes a freezer configured to freeze a brine output from the solute side of the RO membrane into the shape of salt crystals.

An organic solvent collection apparatus includes at least one collection tank, a dewatering circulator, and a purification circulator. The collection tank stores a mixed liquid of an organic solvent and water. The dewatering circulator includes at least one dewatering circulation pipe connected to the collection tank and a circulation dewaterer that separates water from the mixed liquid, and generates a first concentrated liquid that is a mixed liquid in which a solvent concentration of the organic solvent is increased by circulation through the dewatering circulation pipe. The purification circulator includes at least one purification circulation pipe through which the first concentrated liquid is circulated and at least one filter that captures an impurity of the first concentrated liquid, and circulates the first concentrated liquid through the purification circulation pipe to generate a recycling liquid in which a content rate of the impurity in the first concentrated liquid is reduced.
