Method for Separation and Purification of N-acetylglucosamine
The disclosure relates to a method for separation and purification of N-acetyl-glucosamine, and belongs to the technical field of biological engineering. In the disclosure, a raw material solution containing N-acetyl-glucosamine is obtained by microbial fermentation or by hydrolyzing the chitin. The raw material solution is subjected to flocculation pretreatment, and continuous centrifugation or pressure filtration is performed to remove suspended solids such as microorganisms, proteins and polysaccharides to obtain clear liquid. Double-stage ion exchange chromatography is performed to remove impurities such as charged organic molecules and inorganic salts. Membrane concentration is performed to efficiently remove water to improve the concentration of the target product. Spray drying or further evaporation concentration and crystallization are performed. Finally drying is performed to obtain an N-acetyl-glucosamine crystal of which the purity is more than 99%.
METHODS FOR RECOVERING ORGANIC ACIDS OR SALTS OR LACTONES THEREOF FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS USING WATER SOLVENT CRYSTALLIZATION AND COMPOSITIONS THEREOF
Compositions and methods are provided for producing crystalline forms of organic acids or salts or lactones thereof from an aqueous solution. More specifically, methods are provided for producing a crystalline form of a salt of mevalonic acid (also referred to as X-MVA) from an aqueous solution, comprising subjecting the aqueous solution comprising said X-MVA to a purification step to produce a purified solution and crystallizing said X-MVA from said purified solution by water solvent crystallization. Methods are also provided for producing mevalonolactone from an aqueous solution comprising X-MVA, comprising subjecting the aqueous solution comprising said X-MVA to cation exchange thereby converting said aqueous solution comprising X-MVA to an aqueous solution comprising mevalonolactone (MVL). Methods are also provided for producing mevalonolactone monohydrate crystals.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING COMPETING ANIONS FROM PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES (PFAS) IN A FLOW OF WATER
A system for separating competing anions from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in a flow of water contaminated with PFAS and elevated levels of competing anions that includes a separation subsystem which receives the flow of water contaminated with PFAS and elevated levels of competing anions and separates competing anions from the PFAS and concentrates the PFAS to produce a treated flow of water having separated competing anions therein and a flow of water having a majority of PFAS therein. At least one anion exchange vessel having an anion exchange resin therein receives the flow of water having a majority of PFAS therein and removes PFAS from the water to produce a flow of treated water having a majority of the PFAS removed. The separation of competing anions by the separation subsystem increases the treatment capacity of the anion exchange resin to remove PFAS from the contaminated water.
Spray-Dried Tetrasaccharides
Disclosed is a method for the manufacture of a spray-dried powder consisting essentially of LNT and/or LNnT, the spray-dried powder, its use for the manufacture of nutritional compositions, and nutritional compositions containing the spray-dried powder.
Removal of contaminating viruses from AAV preparations
The present invention relates to a separation of viruses of an essentially spherical shape from viruses with a rod-like shape that are comprised in a sample, wherein the sample comprising the viruses is subjected to filtration.

CHEMICAL EXTRACTION FROM AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION
A method of chemical extraction from an aqueous solution includes receiving an aqueous solution including dissolved inorganic carbon. The method also includes increasing a pH of a first portion of the aqueous solution to form a basic solution. The basic solution is then combined with a second portion of the aqueous solution to precipitate calcium salts. The calcium salts are then collected.
BUILDING MATERIALS FROM AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION
A method of making building materials from an aqueous solution includes receiving the aqueous solution with dissolved ions and increasing a pH of the aqueous solution so the dissolved ions precipitate from the aqueous solution as salt. The method also includes collecting the salt precipitated from the aqueous solution and forming the building materials from the salt.
WATER TREATMENT METHOD, WATER TREATMENT DEVICE AND SLIME INHIBITOR FOR MEMBRANES
The present application provides a water treatment method, a water treatment device, and a slime inhibitor for membranes that are capable of, in water treatment using a separation membrane and a reverse osmosis membrane in the subsequent stage, inhibiting the generation of a slime both in the separation membrane and in the reverse osmosis membrane by a simple method. The water treatment method includes adding an iodine-based oxidizer to water to be treated, subjecting the water to be treated obtained during the adding of the iodine-based oxidizer to filtration with the separation membrane, and causing filtrated water obtained during the filtration to be separated with the reverse osmosis membrane into permeated water and concentrated water.
TREATMENT OF SLURRY COPPER WASTEWATER WITH ULTRAFILTRATION AND ION EXCHANGE
A method for treating a waste stream from a copper CMP process including dissolved copper and abrasive particles having a number weighted mean size of less than 0.75 μm includes introducing the waste stream into a feed tank, flowing the waste stream from the feed tank into an ultrafiltration module, filtering the waste stream through a membrane of the ultrafiltration module to form a solids-lean filtrate, directing the solids-lean filtrate from the ultrafiltration module through an ion exchange unit to remove dissolved copper and produce a treated aqueous solution having a lower copper concentration than the copper concentration of the waste stream, backwashing the membrane ultrafiltration module to remove the slurry solids from the membrane of the ultrafiltration module, and combining the removed slurry solids with the treated aqueous solution to form a combined discharge stream having a copper concentration suitable for discharge into the environment.
