System and method for pretreating turbid seawater
The system and method for pretreating turbid seawater utilizes polyelectrolyte dosing, clarification through a clarifier system and centrifugation in a decanter centrifuge followed by microfiltration to treat seawater prior to its injection through a desalination plant. The system for pretreating turbid seawater includes a static mixer for mixing a polyelectrolyte with a stream of turbid seawater to produce a polyelectrolyte-treated seawater mixture. At least one clarifier tank is in fluid communication with the static mixer for receiving the polyelectrolyte-treated seawater mixture and removing a first portion of solids therefrom to produce a clarified seawater mixture. A decanter centrifuge is in fluid communication with the at least one clarifier tank for receiving the clarified seawater mixture and removing a second portion of solids therefrom to produce centrifuged seawater. A microfiltration system is in fluid communication with the decanter centrifuge for receiving the centrifuged seawater to produce the pretreated seawater.
Membrane separation device
The present application relates to a membrane separation device. According to the separation device of the present application, components to be separated using a separation membrane having a small area size can be separated with high selectivity and consequently processing efficiency and economical efficiency can be superbly improved; and according to a method for producing an expanded polystyrene which includes the membrane separation device, components to be separated using a separation membrane having a small area size, in particular, a volatile organic compound (VOC), can be separated with high selectivity and consequently processing efficiency and economical efficiency can be superbly improved, and also, by separating and recovering VOC, an effect in preventing environmental pollution caused by global warming is exhibited.
SEPARATION MEMBRANE
A membrane, in which the membrane is an ultrapure water membrane; a food and/or beverage processing membrane; a municipal water membrane; a peel oil recovery membrane; a (bio) refinery dewatering membrane; an oily wastewater (pre-)treatment membrane; a metal extraction membrane; a desalination membrane; and/or a protein fraction membrane. The membrane includes a porous substrate layer and an active layer arranged over at least a part of the substrate layer. The active layer is at least partially crosslinked and comprises a superhydrophilic agent. Also described is a method of producing the separation membrane.

Fractionated stillage separation and feed products
This disclosure describes methods to separate solids from liquids in a production facility. A process separates components in the process stream by applying non-condensable media to create density differences and then using a mechanical device to separate the solids from the liquids based on the density difference. The process produces the liquids and solids, which may be further processed to create valuable animal feed products.
METHOD FOR TREATING AQUEOUS SALINE STREAMS
A method for treating aqueous saline streams, specifically saline effluents, by means of membrane distillation with pre-treatments, in order to remove total calcium hardness and permanent calcium hardness and the presence of sulphates in saline effluents, more specifically in residual brines from desalination plants. The system makes it possible to concentrate brines above 37% by weight, i.e. above the saturation level, which makes it possible to reduce the volume of brine considerably, making it suitable for other industrial uses and producing pure water.
