The invention relates to a device for dispensing an aqueous liquid through an interface membrane made partially hydrophilic and partially hydrophobic, made so that when in operation, during each operation of dispensing a metered amount of liquid, the streams of air and liquid flow alternately in a capillary channel (18) downstream from the membrane. Said interface membrane (7) is made of a filtering material which includes biocidal metal cations in the body thereof. Said device comprises a porous insert (8), which is permeable both to liquid and to air, which is arranged upstream from the membrane in the path of the fluids and which is made of a material including sites with negative charges capable of attracting biocidal metal cations from said membrane.

The invention proposes a biological protection membrane which is mounted, in a device for dispensing liquid from a sterile packaging bottle, across a fluid-circulation duct, in the path of the liquid extracted from the bottle and the outside air which is drawn into the bottle. The membrane (7) is made partially of a hydrophilic material and partially of a hydrophobic material. Both the hydrophobic portion (23) and the hydrophilic portion (22) are made from a polymer base, laden in the body thereof with a biocidal agent that is active in the destruction of bacteria by the ionic oxidation effect. The circulation of fluids through the membrane (7) is organised so as to promote the ionic action on the flow of outside air in the hydrophobic material, and to drive the ionically charged active agent by the liquid passing through the membrane in the hydrophilic portion thereof. A porous buffer (8), inserted in the path of the fluids on the inside of the membrane, collects the active agent extracted from the membrane by the remaining liquid not dispensed, passing through the membrane from the outside towards the inside.

A SUBSEA INSTALLATION AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF SEAWATER
20180071682 · 2018-03-15 ·

A water treatment subsea installation and method are disclosed, adapted for scaling prevention and treatment of raw seawater into process water suitable for use in subsea hydrocarbon production. The water treatment installation comprises a seawater inlet to a primary filtration unit wherein a filtration membrane separates a receiving chamber from a permeate chamber having an outlet for treated water. A pump is installed in fluid flow communication with the treated water outlet, a recirculation loop feeding a portion of the treated water via a subsea electro-chlorinator back to the water stream upstream or downstream of the membrane of the primary filtration unit, and a secondary filtration unit is installed in the treated water stream between the primary filtration unit and the electro-chlorinator.

CHEMICAL FREE AND ENERGY EFFICIENT DESALINATION SYSTEM
20180016173 · 2018-01-18 ·

A desalination system (100) having an intake unit (110) providing seawater to a pre-treatment unit (120) connected to a reverse osmosis (RO) desalination unit (130) and a post treatment unit (150). The desalination system (100) is configured to operate without any external addition of chemicals to simplify logistics and regulation concerns. The units of the system are configured to prevent biofouling, scaling and corrosion by mechanical and biological means including high flow speeds, biological flocculation of colloids, and making the water entering the RO units inhospitable to bacteria and other organisms that cause biofouling, hence preventing their settlement and removing them with the brine. Recovery rate is lowered and energy is recovered to increase the energetic efficiency and minerals that are added to the product water are taken from the brine.

WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Separation processes using osmotically driven membrane systems are disclosed generally involving the extraction of solvent from a first solution to concentrate a solute by using a second concentrated solution to draw the solvent from the first solution across a semi-permeable membrane. Pre-treatment and post-treatment may also enhance the osmotically driven membrane processes.

REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER PURIFIER
20170129795 · 2017-05-11 ·

A reverse osmosis water purifier that monitors Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) at the onset of entering the water filtration system and downstream upon exiting the system. A comparison of the TDS levels is made to each other or predetermined levels, and action is taken regarding whether to bypass the RO filter, or continue filtering through the RO membrane, or combine the two fluid streams. A microbiological barrier filter is introduced in-line with the egress port of a reverse osmosis filter, and downstream of the bypass water circuit. The microbiological filter is utilized to remove microbiological contaminants from the output water, either directly from the RO filter output, or the bypass filter circuit, or both.
