PARALLEL FLOW CHANNEL TYPE FILTER CARTRIDGE
A parallel flow channel type filter cartridge includes a filter portion which includes a plurality of filter bodies and a plurality of filter housings corresponding to the plurality of filter bodies and independently accommodating the respective filter bodies and a cartridge header in which a top is formed in a structure in which a tap water pipe surrounds a perimeter of a purified water pipe, a plurality of filter accommodating pipes coupled with top ends of the plurality of filter housings which form the filter portion to seal an inside of the filter portion are formed at a bottom, and a parallel structure type flow channel which allows tap water to flow into the plurality of filter accommodating pipes at the same time and then allows the water purified while passing through the plurality of filter bodies to be discharged through the purified water pipe is formed therein.
SERIAL FLOW CHANNEL TYPE FILTER CARTRIDGE
A serial flow channel type filter cartridge includes a filter portion which includes a plurality of filter bodies and a plurality of filter housings corresponding to the plurality of filter bodies and independently accommodating the respective filter bodies and a cartridge header in which a top is formed in a structure in which a tap water pipe surrounds a perimeter of a purified water pipe, a plurality of filter accommodating pipes coupled with top ends of the plurality of filter housings which form the filter portion to seal an inside of the filter portion are formed at a bottom, and a serial structure type flow channel which allows tap water to sequentially flow into the plurality of filter accommodating pipes and then allows the water purified while sequentially passing through the plurality of filter bodies to be discharged through the purified water pipe is formed therein.
Manifolds for Use in Conducting Dialysis
The present application discloses novel systems for conducting the filtration of blood using manifolds. The manifolds integrate various sensors and have fluid pathways formed therein to direct fluids from various sources through the requisite blood filtration or ultrafiltration system steps.
Manifold Diaphragms
The specification discloses a portable dialysis machine having a detachable controller unit and base unit. The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The manifold includes diaphragms adapted to minimize the dead space between the dialysis machine pins and improve responsivity. The base unit has a planar surface for receiving a container of fluid, a scale integrated with the planar surface and a heater in thermal communication with the container. Embodiments of the disclosed portable dialysis system have improved structural and functional features, including improved modularity, ease of use, and safety features.
Compact Pulmonary Assist Device for Destination Therapy
The present invention relates generally to a pulmonary assist device comprising a housing having tapered inlets and outlets to distribute blood evenly over a fiber bundle. The fiber bundle has a relatively low packing density to prevent the formation of clots. The invention is adapted to be used with a pump or without a pump, in which the heart supplies the necessary blood flow. Moreover, the device can be used as a single module or as multiple modules arranged in parallel.
Membrane capsule
A membrane capsule for biological and chemical separations comprising a cassette comprising an upper surface and a lower surface adjoined by a cassette sidewall, an inlet and an outlet located on the upper and lower surfaces of the cassette, tubes fluidly connected to the inlet and the outlet, holes or slots in the tubes to facilitate separation, and a membrane wrapped, pleated, and/or spiral wound around each of the tubes. Methods of separation comprising flowing fluid flow through the inlet of the membrane capsule, allowing the fluid to permeate through the holes or slots of the tubes, separating biological and/or non-biological substances, collecting the fluid within a reservoir, and draining fluid from the reservoir.
Spiral-type acidic gas separation module
There is provided a high-quality spiral-type acidic gas separation module which is obtained by winding a laminate including an acidic gas separation layer that has a facilitated transport film and which has no defects in the facilitated transport film, in which the average value of the fiber diameter of a supply gas channel member is in a range of 100 m to 900 m, and the area ratio of concave portions inscribed in a hemisphere having a diameter greater than or equal to three-quarters of the fiber diameter of the supply gas channel member is 50% or less with respect to a surface of an auxiliary support film of a porous support that is on the side opposite to the facilitated transport film.
PIPING ARRANGEMENT FOR A WATER PURIFICATION APPARATUS
A piping arrangement for a water purification apparatus that utilizes a number of manifolds and pipes to replicate the piping system of a water purification apparatus in a more compact manner. Metal pipes are joined to manifolds using elastomeric ring connections. Each manifold is designed with internal conduits that replicate the path of pipes in a water purification system.
Closed Bioprocessing Device
A filtration module is provided, the module including at least one filtration packet containing filtration media or one or more membranes, such as a stack of membranes, the at least one filtration packet having one or more fluid ports, the one or more fluid ports being surrounded by a primary seal and a secondary seal spaced from the primary seal. The secondary seals are designed to maintain sterility of the assembly during shipping, handling and/or installation. A removable film may cover one or more fluid ports to maintain sterility prior to use.
Hemofilter for in vivo blood filtration
Hemofilters for in vivo filtration of blood are disclosed. The hemofilters disclosed herein provide an optimal flow of blood through the filtration channels while maintaining a pressure gradient across the filtration channel walls to enhance filtration and minimize turbulence and stagnation of blood in the hemofilter.
